  • The Sawyer Tap water filter is excellent for people wanting a convenient filtering option for their home. It has the same impressive capabilities as other Sawyer filters with the added ability to connect directly to various types of faucets.

    Just watched your video, thanks for the review JR! I agree with you about the rubber part that goes on to the faucet getting old and not attaching to anything anymore being a concern. I glued the attachment onto the filter as we only use it with a hose.
    We use the Sawyer Tap to provide drinking water to our house. So, we have a 5-foot-long hose connected to a portable water softener that we also use in our RV, and from there to the Sawyer Tap. We fill about 2 - 5-gallon containers a week for drink & cooking. So far, after 6 months we are good as gold.
    We are backpackers and have a few Sawyer squeezes at home that, now that I see your back flush trick, will try clean after our upcoming trip next week!

    Very informative. I hadn’t heard about this Sawyer filter before. And I didn’t know about different types of aerators. Now I need to go around and check my faucets, lol.
    Do you have a water bandit (sometimes called water thief)? It’s an attachment for outdoor faucets that don’t have standard spigots (or they’re broken), sort of a rubber sleeve with a standard spigot attachment on the other end. I wonder if it would work to expand the types of faucets that can use this filter. I keep one in my bug out bag and one in the car for camping or emergencies.

    Where did you get the duel threaded adapter? I have the original complete kit, but have Considered adding this newer version. The duel threaded adapter really caught my attention. I didn't see a link to the duel threaded adapter.

    I just ordered this for my outside hose spigot. I hope i can wash my car without water spots.

    Can the spigot adapter be used on an indoor faucet that has exposed threads? Like a wash basin

    • @diypreppertv
      @diypreppertv  Před 11 měsíci

      I haven’t tried that, but if the threads will accept a regular water hose, then the spigot adapter should fit as well.

    JR YOU TALKED ABOUT USING THE SAWYER TAP ON YOUR KITCHEN SINK TO HELP WITH DOING THE DISHES. YOU NEVER MENTIONED HOT WATER GOING THROUGH THIS FILTER. IS THAT POSSIBLE?

    • @BoxcutterBushcraft
      @BoxcutterBushcraft Před 2 měsíci

      Sawyer says that the max limit is about 135 degrees. The rule of thumb is if it's too hot to touch comfortably it's too hot to run through the filter.

    How much pressure does this little candy need ? Home tap is approx . 5 bar in Europe, RV's is 1-1,5 - what happens in these circumstances ? They bang about rv use but nobody seem to specify what are the minimal pressure. And what happens when the pressure is too low ? Does it spill out of the seal ?

    • @diypreppertv
      @diypreppertv  Před 2 lety +3

      They work fine with low water pressure. I installed a spigot on a bucket and the filter worked fine with just gravity. An RV should provide plenty of pressure.

      @@diypreppertv just the answer I was looking for. Since it has been a while, still no issues using this as a gravity filter with no water pressure? Thanks

      Sawyer used to offer one that did, however they stopped selling it. I think they still produce it for humanitarian purposes. I’m not sure why they made that decision.
