This is a really well put together demo especially for a noob like me. I love how you've included a lot of the features which might not normally be covered in an intro video. Thank you.
This is by far the best Garageband tutorial Ive seen yet! Real nice job explaining the basics, this will help out myself and other beginners like myself. Keep up the great work!!
For me, the best part was the sample delay panning the percussion. Really bedded it in and made it sound lovely and polished! Helpful tip that, as I some times struggle to get the sounds integrated.
A really useful and well explained Garageband tutorial. Presentation becomes just a bit too quick and content-laden from about 31 minutes for me, a newcomer to the software, but it is all there and easy to replay. A lot more intelligent than some of the other CZcams videos on the same topic. Many thanks for this video. Very clear indeed. :)
Thanks heaps for this tutorial - it has inspired me to get back into songwriting & creation on Garage Band! Lost all my tracks a couple of years ago so got a bit jaded!
Chase The Sound hey i have zero subscribers i put a song in my channel and i enjoy to receive an opinion about this song if you want it will be nice if dont want tanks anyway

Your dedication to helping others is evident, and it's clear that you genuinely care about your viewers' progress. I can't thank you enough for all the valuable knowledge you've shared. This video has inspired me to dive deeper into music production, and I can't wait to explore more of your content. Keep up the outstanding work, and please continue sharing your incredible skills with the world. You're making a positive impact, and I'm grateful to be one of your students. Sending my sincere appreciation and best wishes!"
Such a great and informative tutorial! All though it could be a bit more basic, and a go a little further into all the small details. Either way, great video. Thank you:)
Probably one of the most effective Garageband tutorials I've ever seen. My gosh why aren't they all like this. I can't describe why it's more effective. But we really get to see him start from scratch and then use all of the most essential features without getting into anything overly trivial.
Everything went over in this video is pretty essential to making a basic song. Every single feature showcased can and should be utilized in a basic Garageband song.
hey i have zero subscribers i put a song in my channel and i enjoy to receive an opinion about this song if you want it will be nice if dont want tanks anyway
;O) WOW!!! You rock!!! And what an AMAZING gift that you have...I was still trying to find basic instructions how to create a voice track, and your Basic Track lesson was right on point. I have the confidence now that I can record my voice, create the theme song for my newly launch podcast. Thanks a million. I'm looking forward to more valuable lessons.

I just wanna say I used to use FL studio on windows to compose songs for years but then decided to switch to Mac because of the music producing culture on Mac. Tried out many programs and just couldn’t make a song so I lost interest until I watched this video and now I have just finished producing my first song in 5 years. So thank you.
Hi John, thanks for a great intro to lots of useful features on GB, which I hope I'll get to use once I'm past the novice stage I'm at, for everything to do with music! I'm learning to play keyboards, + read music + use GB, all at once, so am looking for (but can't work out how) to do probably the most fundamental step for newbies such as me; I'm trying to record myself playing MIDI keyboards onto a fresh track, whilst simultaneously reading the scrolling score of the track I'm trying to replicate, in a MIDI song I downloaded from the web ( CCR; Have You Ever Seen The Rain?) . Do you have any tips for how to do this please?
Right here we go, attempting to just recreate what you've done here. Had my Mac for over a year now and I've only made two songs with my guitar and mic so gonna learn some GarageBand basics and get moving. *Edit- Gave this ago over about 3 hours and I have something resembling this but with easier piano chords because I'm literally using my Mac air keyboard as notes haha. Doesn't sound too bad!
Fk yeah homez. I followed the instructions but didn’t listen to any of the notes I was playing or listen to the song till I was done making it. Amazingly, it doesn’t sound like it’s just terrible noise. You could probably even dance to it. Crazy how easy this is.
A midi controller often looks like a keyboard but doesn't always. Midi can get quite complex but for the purposes of your question, a midi controller is whatever you use to play notes in something like GarageBand (whereas a keyboard will play notes internally). Sometimes it looks like a keyboard, ie laid out with white and black notes as a piano is, or sometimes it will be laid out in rubbery pads that you can hit instead of keys. You can use your computer's keyboard in this way too, although its rare that you would call that a midi controller, as its not its primary function. I hope that helps.
Although there are several types of MIDI controllers, let's assume a keyboard. MIDI is a format for digitally describing a note. A keyboard MIDI controller lets you play notes and outputs the digital notation over a MIDI cable to a MIDI input, such as a Mac or other MIDI device, that receives the MIDI notes and either records them, like with GarageBand, or plays them with a different sound than the keyboard has. Older MIDI cables had several individual lines within and used round connectors. They are still popular, but now MIDI can be sent over USB lines making it easier to connect to a computer. Does that help?
Point Blank Music School is the akai professional mpk mini MKII considered as a midi? I’m new to making beats (I’ve been singer/songwriter style for about 16 yrs-time to expand 😝) I just bought one of those today Bc I’m not fond of the keyboard I really appreciate your videos! Getting me very excited! Thank you!

Great tutorial, powerful and complex at the same time tsk
The "sweet spot" mixing technique is a game-changer. I never thought to do that "live" while my track played.

Very cool, much thanks!
How do you play the chords? Simple for you, not clear at all to me.
ikr, he clearly expects everyone to be a musical genius on a video which is supposed to be 'basic'
when he opened that editing thing where it shows all of the notes, I just copied those notes on my piano and played them. It worked
use command k to open a little keyboard that u can type with :)
What do you mean? He's using a midi controller/keyboard.
If you don't understand chords, you aren't ready to start making music.
By far the best teacher on YT! So good I'm truly annoyed I can't donate, to him personally, some money for this lesson!!!
