      Maybe some axe sheaths for various companies. Two hawks makes some badass traditional Viking style tomahawks and friction fit axes. Also axe girders would be cool with some carving and stitching

    I have had to use Ziplok bags a couple of times with larger detailed pieces and it generally works well to keep your leather from drying out. One caveat is that if you leave it sealed for too long it can develop mold or mildew. One piece that took a total of 60 hours to complete I had to keep in a trash bag for a few days. But yeah, it works well enough. Best bet for beginners is to work with pieces you can finish carving and tooling in one sitting. Projects with more than one piece can be good for that, as each piece may be tackled at a time. Like this box, for example. Great video man, thanks!

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  Před 5 lety +1

      Well, given that it's a box and not a baseball or a punching bag I think it should hold just fine. Glues are period, and when done properly are damn tough.

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  Před 5 lety

      It puts a coat on the leather to protect it from being stained. This will allow the gel to get in the cracks and give your leather tooling more contrast.
