It can withstand even higher tiers with its thick armor and derp gun. However, like every Japanese heavy tank after tier 4, it is huge and massive, and will usually become the primary target of SPGs.

The only really important shot the O-I did was against the KV-2 which he killed in a single blast. Everyone else were like lambs to the slaughter.
The KV-2 would only deal minimal damage to O-I from front too XD
Imagine how stupid was his team that could have lost to this stupid team....

Nice hull down position. Bounced all those shots like a boss. Enemies should have capped him out. There were positions where they could have capped and not been in line of his gun. Plus, I'll wager half those tanks couldn't pen him in any circumstance.

Awesome game. The last one tried to troll him, but that derp gun gets them every time. The bounced shots! It just goes to show that if the other team had been patient, they could have lured him out and then shot him from behind. But they all got greedy and were trying to farm damage. That thing is just a mobile pill box. I never liked actually playing the Japanese heavy line. I never ground all the way through the tier 7. they are too big and slow, no matter how much fun the gun is.
I like that the russian tanks have slightly different names if ingame language is set to russian (like the KV-2 is KB-2, SU is SY)
And its got to feel so bad not having 15

LoL, they did not even need to cap as many of you wrote. If you outnumber an OI that hard you can simply go in all at once and from both sides. One of them will die, but then the rest can press themself next to the OI to his left and right. only his sidearmor is penetrable for them. The space is not big, but it is possible. Upper SIdearmor is 70mm, so even the leopard with his spraygun, could pen him there. Last but not least: When are able to sqeeze into that corner with him, the OI will turn and push some of those tanks up the wall making them "fall" on him and both lose the same amount of HP per second. So it probably would even have been possible to kill him without shooting him.
But one half of those guys went back and forth, letting themselves get killed one after another, while the other half went in one by one.

this requires pretty much no skill. those 4-5 tier tanks cant pen O-I from front even with gold. there were no arty in this game which are O-is greatest threat. the enemy was really dumb and didnt cap. that su 100 and kv 2 which could have killed the Oi just dived in like retards.

I played an OI game once against a 3 T29 platoon and spammed their asses with HE took about 2/3rds of all their HP before they finally managed to kill me!
