In the late 19th and early 20th century I wonder how many wagons and horses it took to move large stones and bricks and other materials to build those monuments on the the cemetery grounds.

Crows are very very intelligent. This crow knows someone is there after hours.
You’re one amongst thousands,tonight. It’s very serene. The grounds crew maintains the cemetery quite well.
In the 80s I lived next to a large historical cemetery. They were the most quiet,thoughtful neighbors.
Definitely a different perspective at that time of day, with the tombstones casting long shadows! Very eerie as you said, and the banging sounds in the background just added to it. Very cool!

Hills of Eternity gives off a bit of spooky vibe. Not sure why? It's definitely the best time of day to go exploring. Maybe it's too quiet? No birds, nature sounds. Very elongated shadows.
Imagine going into one of the little family crypts and you hear knocking coming from inside one of the vaults🥶😬

My guess is that the noise was someone locked inside a mausoleum trying to break out.
I never understood the reason for elaborate Mausoleums or headstone…..I understand it’s a family status thing ……visited by the likes of you and me! City’s of the dead!
