that I have captured on PS5 using elgato card and gaming PC and was then edited together piece by piece in a transformative manner with
added story narrative. All raw footage used in this video including cutscenes and gameplays were recorded and edited by me.

But even with that, depression isn’t easy to overcome, even with medication of the modern era
There might been as much chance to save Ishidora’s father as there’s no chance
But yes this may have been avoided if everyone took chance to try talk things out and save Ishidora’s father without magic
and maybe proper research techniques. why would she use her father and students as her first guinea pigs? at least try it on animals first and observe for an extended period of time and make sure there are no unintended side effects. and instead of sealing it deep under Hogwarts, perhaps they could send it to the middle of nowhere and crack it open just a tiny bit and let the o-so-terrifying power slowly dissipates over time? seriously why would they just lazily sweep it under their rug?
I was kind of hoping this would be an origin story for the creation of the Dementors. The magic takes away a persons's pain, but the after effects sap all other emotions and the residual magic that remains, transforms the victim into a vessel that feeds upon the emotions of others.
That is actually very interesting what you have said but the story behind the dementors is different. They were "in theory" created by other Dark Wizard in 15th Century but as i remember so far, that was never confirmed - it was only said that he practised the worst of Dark Magic and that he was the original inhabitant of the fortress of Azkaban where dementors where able to feed on humans since he lured people there.

It is clear to me that magic works like physics do in the muggle world meaning that not everything is written in stone and there are fields that have yet to be understood. Starting from Lily's protection to harry. Her sacrifice activated a form of magic that was unknown. Voldemort stretched dark magic beyond what was known. The house elves wield magic that is different from wizards' magic, and goblins also have a different type of magical power. So ancient magic isn't a far stretch. Also, it makes a lot of sense that that's how dementor came to be. A dark wizard toying around with pain and human emotion for power. Isadora took people's pain for a good cause, but a dark wizard may want to take people's happiness thus leaving a human with only pain and suffering inside of them. That fits the schematics of a dementor's nature. Feeding on other's happiness.
Can we talk for a minute about how terrifying it was that Isadora _didn’t die instantly?_
She took the killing curse dead on and clung on for a moment before succumbing.
Can you imagine what she would become if she was allowed to keep absorbing pain? Voldy would’ve been a squib compared to her.

When Harry encountered a pensive for the second time we learn that pensives can be rewritten and changed slightly. We see on the first pensive Rackham shows one part of the pensive where isadora removes pain then the professors react and they end the pensive for the main character. When we reach isadoras pensive it shows that she fully saves her father's life and refills him with life while saving other students and the pensive ends with the professors disagreeing with isadora. Finally the last pensive shows that the professors want to get rid of isadora because they are against the use of ancient Magic so they attack her and kill her. It is incredibly possible that the first pensive the professors show is heavily altered to make the keepers look good and cause the main character to distrust isadora. They said "things are not what they seem," implying there is more to the pensive than what was perceived. Why would the keepers the keepers keep this information? Because it makes them look bad and power conservative, they only cared about cultivating the power within themselves and were selfish that's why they wanted to keep the power for themselves.
@@somethingwelovet2188 but in isidoras pensive was a "glitch" which was not in the keepers memories which to me indicates isidora changed her memory to break the trust between the keepers and their successor (our character)
@@thomasblack33 Or that the Keepers left it out of their own to paint themselves in a better light. The two are not mutually exclusive. They're not exactly open to sharing knowledge.

Some of the greatest achievements of mankind were quickly abused and used for evil purposes. Ancient Magic needed to be held and protected by someone with a strong sense of responsibility.

@@ReiseLukasisadora is also the perfect example of the keepers having a good reason not to tell future keepers with ancient magic everything ding dang thing about ancient magic and the keepers did say isadora most likely also didn’t properly do her research herself about what ancient magic is actually intended to be used for and a good keeper as good keepers would be smart enough to do more research than isadora so they wouldn’t turn out like isadora. Isadora also didn’t follow up with the people she healed to see if what she was doing actually even took away pain or if she was going way too far since she never knew what become of her father the keepers know what become of the people she healed since they saw how her father was when isadora wasn’t home and isadora most likely didn’t know what became of anyone she had healed to know if her healing even worked or not since she was too busy taking anyway all emotions from everyone else and considering it taking away peoples pain and the people she healed didn’t volunteer to healed from the start anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if all of the people she healed are void of all emotions just like her dad is void of all emotions since isadora didn’t bother to check up on the people she was healing after she had healed them to know if she was doing anything right. She got too greedy in a way

I see Anakin Skywalker in Isidora. He turned to the Dark Side because the Jedi didn't know how to address/deal with his suffering over losing his mother and provide what he really needed.

Interesting! I noticed it in Sebastian. He is learning differently from his peer and is willing to do anything, even commit unforgivable acts, to save those he loves. And with all of this, he isn’t evil, just broken.
Same path Sebastian was going down.
Palpatine had a big part to play in the path anakin chose. Isidora was evil and did it all on her own
The professor who did the killing curse literally show them how shit must be done
I did this quest right after the one where Sebastian kills his uncle, so having just told Sebastian no one should know the killing curse I then had an example where I couldn’t help but excuse the use of it. Was an interesting juxtaposition.
No, that professor was a murderer who should have been thrown in Azkaban. They are all about "UNFORGIVEABLE CURSE!" until they are losing then it's "AVADA KEDAVRA!"

Players: "Wow, she must be a good person. It is the Keepers who are villains. "
In my opinion, this magic that Isidora discovered is reminiscent of an addictive drug. Once you start it, you embrace the good you feel, the power you think you have. You can't stop after that first taste. You don't want to give it up. Isidora saw the good in it, but was blind to the harm it was doing. Her father, her students, and her colleagues were all affected by how obsessed she was. Those that were affected by her "dark magic" (save for Niamh) became shells of themselves because they "gave in to that dark magic". They accepted that drug, and look what became of them. She would do anything to preserve it and wanted everyone to see her perspective. But she didn't see that pain (and subsequently emotions) was a two way street. Pain can bring sadness, agony, and despair, but without it, one won't be able to experience the light at the end of it (happiness, love, joy). They're two sides of the same coin, one can't exist without the other.
True, her father was grieving, but all he needed was more love and support. Grief isn't about pain. It's about healing. Isidora was blind to that. And look what happened to her. Her own ambition and obsession with power killed her in the end.
The developers of this game did a great job portraying this. I made my character make sure to keep this magic hidden. It's too dangerous to be released.
I completely agree, I haven't seen another story that depicted the ability to take someones pain away, not temporarily, permanently. And then show that as the evil and selfish act that it is, one that disregards a person's trauma and pain as if it is simply a flaw in a person. Her father's grief shows his love for his son, and he may one day heal and feel powerful joy again naturally, and even if he doesn't ever recover from that loss, that is his decision, not anyone elses.
Also I believe her Dad is also at fault for the path Isidora took. She is responsible for her actions but it was also in part the absolute neglect her father showed after the death of his son that drove her to that point. He had the right to be sad and to grieve but he literally never spoke again to HIS OTHER CHILD. That is being a failure as a parent, as not only is he giving up and isolating himself from his daughter (and in turn depriving her of a general role model) but he is also the figure that's supposed to show a young Isidora that no matter the pain, they can move on.
It was thanks to his failure to move on that Isidora saw pain as an absolute inescapable force that has to be literally exterminated instead of naturally overcoming it.
Grief isn’t about pain, it’s about healing. Well said. In fact pain is there to remind us to heal, even our body functions a similar way.
There are lessons to be learned from our pain. It’s how we grow and become stronger. It helps define us. To take that away is to erase a part of yourself for good. And there are devastating consequences to that. I kept the power hidden in my play through. It is far to dangerous for a mere human to wield. Only God (or gods), should have that kind of power.

I was watching this for the first time with my friends, and when they were locked in a duel with OP Isidora, I said out loud "I would use avada kedavra." And in three seconds, the professor Gigachad Bakhar said "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
I lost it, that's how dark wizards are defeated!
I thought the Keepers would be the ones revealed to be “evil.” We kept seeing everything through their memories, not Isidora’s. And Isidora’s painting was the only one that was destroyed, so we never get a chance to speak with her directly. So I thought maybe there’d be that twist, that the Keepers were guiding the player to unlock their ancient magic for some nefarious purpose. But then in the end the story just went with the old “she got drunk with power” theme.
I still consider the Keepers the true villains of the game for what it's worth.

Its quite a tragedy really. I believe Isidora had good intentions in the beginning, but where the keepers failed was to check on her and get her the proper help/therapy she needed before she became obssessed. She clearly carried pain herself for her father and the death of her brother. I dont know if taking a person's pain is morally right or wrong, but where Isidora messed up was overy using it. I believe when she removed her father's pain the first time he was generally fine. But as time went on, she started to take any type of pain, emotional, physical, etc out of her father and thats what turned him emotionless.

I knew she was gonna be evil the moment I learned her name is Isidora. What a way to traumatize your child early on.
But the story is set in 18th century if I am correct. And back then that name was not rare. Also Isidora doesn't have any bad connotations. The name means a gift of Isis (she was a goddess of death but she also knew all about herbs and could cure any illness).

This is why it’s so important to choose our friends wisely and to surround ourselves with wise and good people. Our influences and social circles can do so much for the kind of individual we are to become later down the line.

I know Isidora's evil at the end, but my reaction to Bakar using the killing curse went along the same lines as Solomon Sallow's reaction to Imperio: "Unforgivable Curses are so named for a reason".
I think back that time, the unforgivable curses weren't considered unforgivable, though I agree with you.
Back in those times there was no concept of an Unforgivable Curse. The Keepers lived in the late Medieval Era during the reign of the Tudors. 1717 was the year they were classified as 'Unforgivable' and the penalty of life without parole in Azkaban was applied.
I find it weird that this game offers no consequences except for other characters making some kind of remark for using the Unforgivable Curses and that Sebastian ends up being the only character who can possibly face legal consequences.
As for San Bakar using the Killing Curse in the moment he did... it was one of those rare occasions where I think it was warranted. Isidora had absorbed so much power that the four of them combined were no match for her conventionally. I can't see any other way they could have put a stop to her.
There have been times where limited use of the Unforgivable Curses has been permitted, like when the Ministry authorized the Aurors to use them during the First Wizarding War.

I thought of Solomon as well in this scene, but Solomon was a hypocrite because he used the dark arts. He didn’t teach Sebastian why he should be concerned with wielding them, he just took out his anger towards their parents on Sebastian. San Bakar didn’t use the spell because he was going on a genocidal rampage, he did it to stop a very evil individual. Isidora is a terrifying person because she is doing something terrible and convinced herself it was a very good thing, she doesn’t see the harm she is causing, or is in complete denial of the inconvenient truth.
This takes Ravenclaw evil to a new understanding. According to the HP wiki, she was a Ravenclaw. Niamh was one too, San and Charles were Slytherins and Percival was a Hufflepuff.

But it wasn't her place to decide to take everybody else's pain. Her father, I can indulge, his crippled him. But students...

@@HOOG00 yeah, I didn't see that then, I do now, though using the spell on students is a little too much.... And idk why but I feel like one Keeper was a villain. Why? Well we know Isidora's portrait was burnt and it's heavily implied that a Keeper did it. My money is on San, not cause he was a Slytherin but because he was the most reluctant to show memories, he used AK(tho it wasn't unforgivable then) and why would he go to see Isidora ALONE? Maybe he wanted to discuss something personal. And it's also stated Niamh died an untimely death. Feels to me like sb killed her after she was injured here.
You know I feel they wouldn’t of cared if she practiced the magic on willing adults. I feel once they found out she was doing it on people to the point of them being slaves and doing it on students they said “Okay now we must do something.” Also I wouldn’t see this being too bad if it actually worked out for the better such as how you can take your memory out of your head.
Exactly. Isidora was performing this magic on people who should not be able to consent: Muggles(her dad), and students. Add insult to injury, this was a form of magic that was for all intents and purposes, still in the unpredictable testing phase. So if something goes wrong, she should absolutely bear the full brunt of the responsibility of whatever damage she causes.

Isidora is not evil. She is misguided and broken after her brother's death and her father's depression. The problem is that no one chose to help her even the professors of Hogwarts from the way we see her visions.

Yep, Isidora was obviously in pain and she reflected the pain she was feeling on to others. In her view, she was helping others by making them not feel the emotional pain she was experiencing but it also resulted in her ignoring the harm she was doing to the people as she slowly strips away their emotions.
The Professors did think they were helping Isidora by giving her these powers but they did not realize it was not power that she needed to fix her personal problems. It was others being there for her and helping her understand the pain she was feeling was part of her life.
@@orrthehunter I might have a very unpopular opinion here, though I will admit that that my opinion is skewed due to my own life experiences and struggles so take what I'm going to say with several cups of salt.... I kinda agree with Isidora, the only evil thing she did was force her magic technique on others without permission, but in my heavily skewed opinion what she is doing is amazing and it could generate a net positive from negativity.

If she set a limit to how many time she can use this Ancient Magic to extract negative emotions so that a person does not enter a vegetable state due to losing all emotions then the professors may not have acted so negatively to her actions. However, she did not consider this either because she intentionally ignored it or was unaware of this effect due to not seeing it happen (maybe due to how it may not be apparent until a certain amount of time after she last extraction on her father).
There was also signs she may have been becoming addicted to the negative emotions like a drug since she needed to absorb the negative emotions to continue using this Ancient Magic. That can also be very dangerous since we don't really know how emotional a person may become if they are constantly affected by negative emotion energy in the long term.
There is a lot of questions about this Ancient Magic but sadly this game does not fully explore it due to wanting to keep Ancient Magic mostly unknown like all Harry Potter contents does with Ancient Magic.
I think the teachers start opposing her when she used the magic on students and they also warn her about the side effects.
So she basically just got drunk with power, and the fact that nobody actually reprimanded her for that allowed her to keep pursuing it
They did tell her to stop. Several times. They thought she did. But no, they ended up discovering (way too late) that she was far beyond salvation. Even so, Percival attempted to dissarm her. She was overpowering 2 ancient magic users. The killing curse was the only way out.
@@ChristianVillavicencio i think it was 1 ancient magic and 1 normal magic user. The only person in the Keepers that could use ancient magic was Percival Rackham I think.

@@ChristianVillavicencio Along with that, it's important to keep in mind that Isidora had no emotional maturity. She was still traumatized by the death of her brother and the depression of her father. She thought that she could "heal the world" by just removing sadness and grief. But, one of the central themes of the Harry Potter franchise is that *magic cannot fix everything.* The same way that Voldemort was obsessed with trying to run away from Death, Isidora refused to live in a world where people had to feel pain, despite how natural both of those things are.
You know she’s like Sabastian, she doesn’t mean anything bad, but is doing something bad, like Sabastian, he just wanted to cure his sister but killed his father, and Isadora, wanting to cure his father from all the pain, ended up removing students and other people emotions
It was “ uncle” actually Sebastian and His sister parents died early.
To Avada Kedavra to work you have to mean and fully understand what murder is. And still wish it upon someone.
I like Sebastian's character more than any other in the game, but c'mon he is not innocent.

Depression is a powerful emotion and hard to control
Man the last moment made San Bakar my favorite. That dude is just straightforward badass! He'll get the shit done, no matter what! But I still believe Isadora was Chaotic Good type of character, which was navigated and supported wrongly.
I think it also helps that he's the only one who actually saw what happened to Isidora's Father. And finding out that she was doing the same thing to the students? That's the point of no return. How exactly would the teachers explain this to the parents when their children come home acting like zombies?

I really thought we were going to be faced with siding with the Keepers/Professor Fig or Isidora/Sebastian. If that was the case, I would have sided with the latter.
That said, the problem I had with Isidora was when she used it without people's consent.
They just butchered the writing and went with: «She went mad with power». In my opinion both Isidora and The keepers are bad and corrupt. Isidora started with good intentions, but the power corrupted her. The keepers wanted to keep their power to themselves and ignored everyones problem around them. At least she tried to do something, while the the keepers was corrupted by their status.

The keepers stated pretty clearly what danger can be to harness such power in the way Isidora did. They did not keep their knowledge to themselves, they knew that to wield such power recquires specific personal traits Isidora was lacking of.
@@Mithrandir1983 Exactly. The short answer is, Isidora was completely lacking in emotional maturity. Because she could not see people be in grief and pain, she just wanted to make it go away, rather than accept and overcome it. The truth is, it's kind of a child's way of thinking.

1) You see only flashbacks, pieces of memories. Hence you cannot presume they did not try to communicate. That is more than shortsided approach.
2) Perhaps you did not pay much of a attention to whole point of keeping knowledge about ancient magic in secret. Isidora was a perfect example of what can happen, should you even try to use it for “greater good”. She became a leech/parasite, feeding the orb with pain/suffering, hence bolstering her own magic abilities.
It will forever hurt me how Sebastian and Isidora are almost completely direct parallels of each other. They're borh plagued by somebody who they love being in pain, and they will go to any length to help that person, even if that means going down a dark path. Damn, I love this game so much.

Exactly. At that point, Isidora was beyond reasoning with. The other Keepers had been warning her for years to not do this, and she didn't listen. And look what happened to her father, he ended up worse off than when he started. The simple bottom line is, like Professor Rackham said, it's not her pain to take.

There are so many people in the world that meet someone in poor mental health, and constantly worries about them and never gives up trying to heal them. It's only admirable if the person wants it, you can't help anyone who won't help themselves. So you must remain aware of the danger of healing someone out of selfishness and a need to control everything. If you love and respect someone, you will let them choose their own path, offer help, but respect if they decline. It is not your place to say that someone should give up their pain regardless of what they believe, pain is a natural part of life, it is personal and gives Joy meaning. In the story, once pain is gone it releases great joy in a person, but soon enough they lose the will to live, their soul, because Joy cannot exist without pain, once one is removed the other fades as well, leaving a husk of their former selves.

They healed her village, taught her, befriended her, and said multiple times that tampering with emotions is unacceptable? Where is Isadora's personal responsibility?
Meeting her ghost or painting would have been interesting to see how she felt about her death

At first Isidora was doing a good thing like removing pain. But in the same time your robbing that person of how to handle it. Then she realized she can't be storing it up all the time thus she was absorbing the pain essence. Eventually the dark essence was slowly poisoning her and making it more addictive for her to get more.
You missed the memory where the keepers first go to the hamlet that Isidora and her family lived in and they brought an end to a drought. Though she was unhappy that the keepers didn't heal her brother. Thus the start of her evil turn.
Indeed, for it dived upon how she started on her path to a misguided and broken mindset. Unfortunately, as we’ve learned early on in the Harry Potter series, magic can’t fix or cure everything. Even magic has it’s limits. Something she couldn’t accept or figure out sadly.
As well as the one where they tell her that she's a witch with a rare ability and she has this look on her face that just says evil, and her sorting.

Was expecting that she somehow survived and was pulling the strings behind Ranrok's rebellion.
But guess it wasn't the case.
I mean she lived in the 1400s so even if she did survive being hit with avada kedavra she would most likely still be dead by the 1800s and the only way I could see her appearing at all is either as a portrait like the keepers or as a ghost
this is too much complexion for a game which needed 6 yrs of development to be this disappointing

Not that it would make sense because time turners aren't invented yet at the time of Hogwarts Legacy. Professor Hecat was a classmate of Professor Black and she apparently was experimenting with time magic while she was an Unspeakable and was forcibly aged during her time there.
That killing Curse from the head master was crisp.

One of this game biggest misses is the morality system. The unforgivables are called so for a reason. No dark wizard lives long enough unpunished, imagine a Hogwarts student going Voldy on everyone freely. That's lame. Instead, the unforgivables could be used as the last, truly last resort, either becoming available when a player is low on health and out of items or when heavily outnumbered.
Isidora was so excited when she was told she could weid magic but then she got obsessed with taking her fathers pain and so during her travels she inhaled peoples emotions to become powerful and she got a goblin to get goblin silver to contain the emotions she stole but in the end she got killed cuz otherwise rackham and rookwood would of instead

Anyone wanna explain to me why Isidora is so powerful? She's literally a young adult come back from a few years of travel, before which she was a STUDENT, and she blows away three professors with one spell, then 1v1s Rackham and even nearly 1v2s Rackham and Rookwood. The only reason she lost was because Bakar fired a Killing Curse at her while she was distracted, dirtiest cheat ever. How did she nearly win a 1v4 with more experienced wizards (and one witch)?!

Still think the 'abcient magic; trapped is akin to nuclear waste from mis-using the ancient magic, rather than than 'ancient magic; itself --- like the unfrogivables cause pain/control person that is just a bad application of the magic

To those saying isadora was evil or was like Voldemort....She was not evil I see Anakin in her she wanted to help her father the same way he wanted to help his mother: gain power to end suffering & the supposed ones who should have helped refused claiming it was to dangerous & deterred if not out right forbid.
They gave her no guidance & when she took matters in to her own hands...which sadly led to her getting addicted then they killed her. People have said that it was a duel...I'd hardly call it a duel it was a clash before Mr bakar used AK ( I believe those memoeries...at least some of them were deliberately tampered with & remember their is tons of cut content which makes the game feel very disjointed to)
Why tamper with them? to provide a false narrative that isadora was in the wrong & used AM for nefarious purposes when instead she had good intentions & perhaps was advancing it in a way the keepers didn't like...I think Rackham & the others were jealous or greatly disapproved of her direction...she wanted to push the boundaries of AM but the magic stifling old fools didn't want that ( I get caution should be advised) hell percivals comment before we enter the repository reeked of arrogance " Now that you think like us" I most certainly do not you old c****.
This isn't to say that's what happened but I hate the way the game is so desperate for us to side with the keepers & see isadora as evil or misguided. It offers no look in to isadoras side. I hope the dev's go in to a huge depth because the whole AM storyline to me was so incredibly weak.
