Yes I’m booking this for my birthday trip this month instead of doing the same ole islands and making it a solo trip I think I’ll appreciate this a lot I have social anxiety 🥹
One man and one camera, we don’t even know what he looks like or sounds like but he makes the best content to watch at 2am. I live for these videos. I just wonder what he does for a living, that he can travel this much and show us these awesome landscapes.
Er hat über 800.000 Abonenten auf seinem Kanal. Dieses Video wurde über 1 Million mal angeklickt. In jedem seiner Videos läuft Werbung.
Lmao I was reading your comment and when I got to the part about watching at 2am I looked at the time and it was exactly 2am.
2:41am checking in lol
3:35 clocking in, im late to the party 🥳
2:57 for me . . . p.m. 😊
I took this train in October and it was the best trip so far of my life. The scenery was amazing and the people I met on the train were unforgettable. And to top it off this staff was exceptional
Hi. So does Amtrak stop for pit stops where passengers are allowed to hop off for a short time or are you required to stay on the train for the duration of trip?
Go to China you can see the beyond
Well that never happened 😂😂😂 like farmer
Hi, Can you go out , like him, in some spots? Like did it in Denver or isn't with stops?
I love these travelogues. At 80 years of age, my brain says let's do this; my body says, forget about it; my wallet says you gotta be kidding me. That said, thanks for the ride. Someone needs to provide access to passengers to a recording of what the landscape is all about; one that can be accessed at any time during the trip that gives immediate input to what is passing by; maybe some sort of app.
"I don't think this is Earth anymore." D'accord. Stunning.
Solo-san's precious commentary + his awesome videography skills = best video ever
I worry about his hand tremors though

I love how they have a scenic observational carriage with window facing seats. It must have been nice being able to just sit and stare at the world go by for hours.
The eastern and western portions of the US are so markedly different. Beautiful in their own ways… I think sometimes, as Americans, we get desensitized as to how vast and beautiful this country really is. Thanks for the glimpse into your adventure! I hope you enjoyed it!
I'm a truck driver here in Canada and I get a little frustrated when people go on these crazy journeys all over the world and never even bother travelling here in Canada (or the US). Like, do both! I have some family members who have been to over 100 countries but have never meaningfully left Alberta. We live on some of the best geography in the world! I feel very fortunate that I've been able to see as much of it as I have.

I've never seen the Unites States like this, I've always flown above it but you never get to see the Beauty in America cuz we have no trains and all the roads go through hell, being able to sit back and look at it looks relaxing
An American train experience that wasn't cursed!

You can really see the difference between American food and Japanese food. Also, how ironic it is that trains used to be for people who couldn't afford planes. Now it's the other way round. Great work as always. LOVE the caption!

I was worried after your last couple of Amtrak experiences, but I'm happy for you that this trip seemed to go much more smoothly! My word, the scenery along this route is unbelievable. I just finished a 2-day Amtrak trip from Seattle to Chicago, and I thought the views on that trip were amazing, but it still doesn't compare to this.
As always, thank you for bringing us along on your travels. I'm eager to see where you choose to go next.
Oh my goodness that was awesome, some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen. Thankyou Solo , as usual you had me tittering at some of your scenes . Keep these trips up. Not just abroad but in your beautiful home country 👏👏👏🇬🇧
America's natural beauty is breathtaking. I am happy to have experienced it with an appreciative companion. I love travelling with you, my friend.
I spend my time each day watching all these journeys on CZcams and it's always great to experience them with you on your channel!
I LOVE Amtrak. I took it once and was hooked. It takes longer than flying, and sometimes more expensive (vs economy)...but it beats being crammed into a seat like a sardine. If I'm not in a super rush to get to my destination, I'll chose the comfort of the train.
Saving this video, would love to take this trip for the scenery 😍
Thank you so much, this is definitely one of the best videos I've ever seen on CZcams! No unnecessary bells and whistles, no distracting music, no three cuts per second - just a calm and well explained film from a personal point of view. I am your fan from now on! Greetings from Germany!
This was the best footage of this route I've ever seen! Thank you so much for this, and i hope you enjoyed your time here in the US! Were people kind? What did you miss the most?
Thanks for sharing. My daughter and I traveled from SF enroute to ATL. Our first train was on the Zephyr. Very scenic, the staff were great, the food and our room, although it was small was a wonderful experience.
8:44 is the shot of my dreams, that color in the sky, the blacked out flat landscape just open... Beautiful. USA!
I drove from Phoenix to Chicago via SLC so trust me the scenery is phenomenal! I also stayed in Utah for a month
16:44 The drivers on that highway probably drive through that breathtaking scenery every single day and don't even think about it.
As someone from Colorado, I can safely say that it never gets old 🤩.
When I traveled to Colorado in 2012, I went out of my way to drive through Glenwood Canyon. I read about it in an engineering book growing up and always wanted to see it in person. It’s pretty spectacular.
Yep! Do it all the time!
I'm from Utah and the mountains never get old. They are stunningly beautiful
@@Quake120 I love the beautiful red rock country in Utah - one of my favorite places is middle Zion (Kolab Terrace). A lot of it runs through private ranch land - I think it was a sheep station - that's now being sold off in bits. I always thought if I won the lottery I'd buy 'em all out and give it to the park, except for one small parcel that I'd build my off-grid, sustainable tiny house on. It's nice to dream 😄.

I always look forward to your videos and they relax me and remind me of the trips I've taken so far. I think Amtrak's prices are insane, and most people won't be able to afford it. However, the US has stunning landscape and the train ride is definitely a great way to take it all in.
Such a glorious quiet trip. No loud passengers.
1 word to describe the ever changing sceneries - majestic 👍🏼

There are lots of California Zephyr videos on CZcams but this is one of the best, Thanks for sharing.
Solo solo-san... I can't believe i found this channel. You are so fun and happy. Im from NY, USA and love your videos
Wow, your video is absolutely stunning. You captured some amazing scenery on this trip. P.S. - I'm obsessed with the sky/clouds. And such wonderful colors. Fantastic video.
I really like that you occasionally show us a map/route update on your phone. It's a little thing, but I appreciate it. Looks like a beautiful route to travel, and I hope you enjoyed San Francisco!
The conductor @10:28 matches the fun vibe of Solo-san, it was very funny. While the room itself doesn't look super comfortable, the viewing car was stunning! I'd be spending a lot of time in there, wow.
I've spent a couple trips in Superliner roomettes, they're actually quite comfortable as long as you put your baggage on the rack near the car door and not inside the room.
The rooms are actually really comfy and cozy, the gentle sway of the train along with the serene hum really rock you to sleep. 10/10 would recommend.
The overall view is majestic. Thanks for documenting your trip. May God bless you.
First USA train you've been on I'd genuinely travel there for to take myself. Wow! Thanks for taking us along!
I remember riding the Amtrak train from Chicago to Texas and the train experience was amazing
This is the most charming and beautiful scenery I have ever seen. I hope I will have a chance to see it in the future!🥰
I live in the USA and this is one of the few rail trips that I really really want to take which wouldn't be utilitarian (not going to see family or friends, but traveling just to take the trip itself). It looks like it more than lives up to everything I've heard about it.
The scenery = WOW.
Interesting that I don't think of this rail line running parallel to the highways, which it looks like it did through some of Nevada/California. I'd love to drive out west as well, but obviously when you're driving you've got your eyes on the road and you can't appreciate the view like you would from a train.
Glad to see that this rail trip seems to live up to everything I've heard about it... can't wait to do it. Thanks!
Oh and P.S.: next time you see a Monte Cristo sandwich, get one. If you liked the french toast, you'd love it. It's like a grilled ham and cheese sandwich made on french toast. I put syrup on it and cut it up and eat it with a fork like french toast. Terrifically underrated lunch item.
Go! It's worth it.
A hamburger közelít a mi megszokott reggelinkhez.
Agreed, but the nourishment could be better based on what I´ve seen in this video.
@@ANtr431 Trust me: as one who's traveled Amtrak's northeast corridor trains, this is, by comparison, gourmet dining. There is usually a café car on the northeast corridor trains, but the food is prepackaged, microwaved if hot, and probably comparable to the food you'd get on one of the Japanese "vending machine ferries."
The cornmeal cake appetizer you had probably is closer to Italian polenta, which is also made from cornmeal, and can be served either like a soft porridge, or fried up into cakes.
I wondered what that was!
That was shrimp not cornmeal.
Yay! Been waiting for part 2!!! So excited, almost as excited as I was for your trans-continental trip across Canada 🇨🇦 🍁!!!!

I am so glad you are coming to SF!!! I have been watching your videos about all kinds of Japanese rides for a while, now you are coming to San Francisco where I live!!!!
What a great trip. And yes perfect timing, trying California Zephyr on Autumn/Fall season.
My grandfather used to ride a train like this in his younger days. Looks as beautiful as he described!
I grew up in Chicago and now live in southern California (which is far from San Francisco) but it’s a pleasure to see you take a train I’m familiar with from my home city to where I’ve moved onto (sorta) - Amtrak isn’t the fanciest but it a core memory for me.
My sister and her younger daughter did the Emeryville to Chicago route some years ago. My niece was going to college in Wisconsin and they decided to give it a try.
Always excited for another video!!
This looks like a wonderful trip. a couple of days enjoying beautiful scenery and relaxing and eating.

So glad I found your channel. I get to travel while at home 😊.
Thank you, for sharing your traveling with us.
Hope you enjoyed The US.
What a great video, I absolutely loved the scenery as it changed from state to state. I have to decide if I would want to try this 1 because 3 days is pretty long.
Oh beautiful! I used to visit Denver quite a lot, so the shots there made me homesick, especially when you were wandering downtown around Union Station. And it was fun seeing the Metro Lounge in Union Chicago again; in 2016 I had a Standard Roomette from Pittsburgh-Chicago and Chicago-Dallas, and while they didn't serve lunch, the snacks and the complimentary baggage check (and the showers!) were a lifesaver. THe views weren't NEARLY as stunning as all of those Rockies and deserts shots, though, and the farthest West I got going out of Denver was Rocky Mountain National Park, so it was great to see this.
Thank you. Food , Scenery, Solo thoughts and quiet. Beautifully captured. Good food is a must and is part if the fun, you made me hungry with your close footage and gestures at meal times :) Stunning views !
you said you were going to travel, and you did! i am so happy for you!! the amtrack train was definitely the best train out of all the north american trains (adding the canadian one because i can lol) and it had the best food. loved all the views, though. many thanks for taking us along, ss!
Thank you! I live in Austin, TX and my daughter goes to University in Chicago…we’ve thought about riding the Texas Eagle but I’m nervous about the quality. Looking forward (as always) to riding with you and seeing the trip firsthand! ❤❤❤
Wow! Fantastic views! Thank you! You did a great job! Now I want to go cross-country solo on amtrak!
Loved the editing in this one! Would love to ride this route someday.
America is such a beautiful continent, it makes me wish that I could travel and see those sights myself.
Once again, missing out because of my disabilty :(
Thank you for the very beautiful wild landscape!
I remember the first time I went to the deserts out west (I was in Utah) and my reaction was much like yours. The scenery was so devastatingly glorious that I could barely believe something like it could even exist on Earth
I've wanted to make this trip for so
long! Now, thanks to your video, I know *when* to take it!!
I live on this route. Fall in Colorado is the best. The first snow is Halloween, so late September/early October is usually peak aspen leaf-peeping.
The journey up from Denver and over the Rockies down into UT is hard to describe to people who haven't done it. The amount of change you see as you go more west is just insane. Passing through the deserts of Eastern UT, into the greener central part of the state, then out into the more beige western desert and just endless changes.
Do you mean the route through aspen and vale?
@@ultraviolettas More the part from Frisco/Silverthorne west to Vail through Glenwood Canyon. Aspen is south off of the freeway about 45 minutes, but that is also a really pretty drive.
@@mycroft16 thank you so much! I’m doing a solo drive from SLC to Nashville in the spring and I’ve always wanted to drive through that part of Colorado. I drove by myself for the first time from NYC to SLC this past summer and dipped into Fort Collins for a couple days and it was beautiful! I couldn’t believe I’d never been to Colorado before. Compared to UT it’s paradise. I’m from Manhattan originally.

The California Zephyr was the very first train I ever rode. Thank you for taking us all on a scenic route that is very dear to me. I have lived in or near 3 cities on your route and it was fascinating to watch your reaction.
Yes, I also have the “WHAT IS THIS NOISE shaky shaky” reaction. Amtrak cars are old and noisy and the railbed is bumpy because freight trains use the same tracks and take precedence, causing huge delays. But I still love rail travel and wish the US would invest in rail infrastructure like the rest of the world.
Thank you for your excellent content!
