Beautiful journey. The train seems very comfortable! I guess they could improve privacy by having slightly thicker curtains though ☺ Loved seeing the Bamboo Yokan, very satisfying.
Back in the 1980's, I moved to Germany with my then spouse. We were stationed in Berlin when it was still East and West Germany. In order to pick up our vehicle, we had to take an overnight sleeper train through the East German part of Germany, requiring travel through the Russian occupied part of Germany.
Anyway, our overnight train trip was awesome. There is nothing like the gentle rocking of the train while trying to sleep. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
