For all the questions, 99% of the time black to black red to red. Like i said in the video on AN LED LIGHT STRIP, the color of the light is determined by the negative wire.
I learned more about this subject here, than I did with 10 videos on wiring a toggle combined. Less is more is true.
I agree
For sure
Yeah same
💯💯💯💯
Thank you for the tutorial!
Best wiring vid on yt. Simple clear instructions and straight to the point
Perfectly explained
Thank you. I knew it could be this simple, but other videos somehow convolute the process unto confusion.
Amazing. So simple and to the point.
So what is the light hooked to? red or black on the battery?
Thanks for that mate, from down
Under. Your video was excellent.
Straight to the point & no waffling on
Many other clips I found were very
Confusing & had to much crap attached. Thanks again.
Thank you for this and thank you for not making a long drawn out video to explain such a simple concept 👍
Excellent explanation. So simple now that I watched that.
Ty soo much for your simple demonstration 🙏.
awesome video. I never knew that's how its done
Thanks for sharing! Now I know how to wire some fixtures in my enclosed trailer!
Wow! Thank you.
Man I was looking for such simple video thank u!!!
So what is the light hooked to? red or black on the battery?
Much needed thank you. My question is I have 2.. 2 terminal on/off switches. One at console and the other on the front deck. How do I get them to work together? My older ebbtide boat does not have a manual
Thanks for this video.. Do you have a recommendation for heavy duty switches for truck/car gauges. That is I am looking for a BRAND name where the lever portion is wide , maybe even with the lever has a hole(s) like exotic car automatic paddle shifters..
I have a 12volt magic chef refrigerator. I would like to add a toggle switch to kill the power when needed. Is there a certain size switch that I should use? Is a 12volt 15amp two prong toggle enough?
Doesn't black go to black and red to red on a DC circuit?
It really doesn't matter unless you have the polarity correct
Since it was a tutorial he definitely should’ve done the standard black/negative red/positive I’ve never seen anyone swap them
So the three wires coming out of the battery.. do you need to use those? I’m making a project where they are already taken up connected to a pcb.. is there any way I can still have the battery connected to my electro magnet. And connect the power switch to the battery also?
Where do i find or get the yellow cord? Does it have to be a specific yellow cord or can I substitute it for a red/black cord?
So you connected a ground wire from battery to the pos of accessory?
Im trying to wire LED headlight on old motorbike and new switches. Each handlebar switch has 3 buttons and from each button comes 2 identical coloured wires: button 1 has 2 black wires, , button 2 has 2 blu wires and button 3 has two red wires.
Any tips be much appreciated. Thanks.
How do i add a second on/off switch elsewhere on my boat to my aerator?
Should you put a fuse in between?
My switch has a cover are you saying it doesn't matter which terminal on the switch you put it on because you can flip it either directions because I can only flip mine one
Okay I know this is a random question but if a switch is rated 12v 5amps, wouldn't connecting the switch directly to the battery overload it?
I have a blazer that I can't drive at night because ONLY the brake lights/reverse lights/and blinkers work the parking/red taillights don't and nobody can find the problem so I have a extra 12vbattry and a set of magnetized trailer taillights to put on the Chevy blazer thought instead of having to hook and unhook the gator clips I could figure out how to make it a little bit easier like a switch or button to turn it on and off I'm a mom of 4 the battery is by the tailgate so what would I need to buy and how would you recommend I should do it plz gb2m asap thanks
What if you only have positive and negative. Is the “ ground “ you was talking bout the positive?
If you needed a fuse, would you put it between the on/off switch and the device; or between the battery and the on/off switch?
Doesn't matter but standard is between switch and device
Cool. But where does the fuse go? Im wiring a bilge pump. I'm guessing it should be positive battery to fuse, fuse to switch, switch to pump, then pump back to negative. Tks brother!
Doesnt matter but i prefer othe side of the switch.
Is this also the same thing on a car??
Why did he use the red wire for the negative and the black wire for the pos?
How do I fit these to rc car esc please
So what is the light hooked to? red or black on the battery? or where?
Light positive(red)is hooked to the switch and negative(black) to the battery
I can understand all the mechanical components on a boat but electricity is like black magic to me just so confusing thanks for the simplification
Can you show a video on how to wire a volt gauge on your boat
Yes i can!
@@MealeyMarine thank you
@@scottscaneh like the dial gauge thats usually in the dash?
@@MealeyMarine correct
Dude, so adding a 2 way switch to USB on motorcycle should be the same???
Accessory doesn't matter. Same principle
I’m still struggling to understand why red is ground?
Wouldn’t black be ground and red be hot? What am I missing here?
I would recommend a fuse incase shit goes sideways
Agreed
How do i connect with 2 lights instead of 1?
Put two wires on the outgoing side.
@@MealeyMarine lol thanks but im a total noob at simple wiring and i dont knw what that means 😅 😂
omg
What about a ground1
Ground is to the battery
I am not sure how are you made such a simple connection so confusing. Who the heck connects black to red? (And yes, I read your pinned comment below, but it was not helpful). Not sure why you refer to the black wire as the lead - I thought black was the ground. least helpful video ever.
Straight from the battery, no fuse, no relay. interesting.
