Ground it to the body of the car. It doesn't need to go to the battery negative just ground it to the frame structure by loosing up a screw and ground the negative wire to it
I wired in this switch exactly how you said...and It didnt work. The power wire from the battery goes on the bottom terminal and the feed to the accessory goes to the middle. Explain that one!
Still works as in the video, just a different layout Supply would be battery positive Acc would be accessory Ground would be.. well ground lol (I know your comment was 2 months ago but incase you didn’t figure it out yet)
You don't do something improperly and then say you will show how to do it right later! You should have at least use clip leads. You had NO fuse in the circuit so what you had could have burnt up if those bare wires shorted out. Very poor.

Can the ground from the lights go to the frame?
What if the light(accessory) negative can't reach the battery, can I combine it into the ground wire coming from the battery into the rocker switch?

Supply Acc Earth/ground
