I should have been more clear (Sorry I was excited to get back to playing), I'm only in Bastion on live but I've kept up with the Alpha/Beta testing intimately, meaning I know what the entire 9.0 storyline is. I didn't just watch this cinematic without any context. I know what's going on, when this cinematic takes place, and what happens before/after as I described.
Ardenweald was so good. Got so pumped when this moment happened in-game.
May i just add that its literally so god damn cool it brought her back up in the same position elune put her in at her death
There are many theories concerning the winter queen's sister and who she is :
1) Eonar the life binder
2) Freya the titan keeper
3) Elune
I personally prefer the first one
it's literally nightsong with the night elves singing "elune adore" as she comes back to life...
@@ignomearound Eonar is of Elune, she hid in Elunaria when she fell to Sargeras' blade. If Elune is mother and Eonar is daughter then "of my sister" would mean that the Winter Queen is daughter of Elune and sister to Eonar. Having music be "of Elune" is not inconsistent but a familial tie that Blizzard wanted to make obvious.
Having Elune as sister would mean that Elune isn't a first one and her omniscience/power-level needs to be explained at some point further down the line as the Winter Queen is not as powerful as I would have expected even with the constant drains of Ardenweald.
I just read on Wowhead and it's officially confirmed, The Winter Queen is Elune's sister.

@@lionelleblanc Did Blizzard confirm it yet? To be honest, i think the chances of Eonar being the Winter Queen's sister are higher than the chances of Elune being the Winter Queen's sister.

Ysera was given her power and position as an aspect by Eonar, and the other dragon aspects were given their power by the Titans as well. Though Ysera is a creature heavily favored by Elune, Ysera is who she is because of Eonar's power
The procession of her seed up to the the Heart is amazing. The music, the npcs following you, it all gave me chills.
When I say I cried like a BABY during the entire Ysera storyline. Oh boy
I'm digging the Shadowlands lore so far. Seems to me that threads are being tied up in neat ends, without universally concluding those characters permanently. I'll be watching your other reactions (if you record them) with interest!

Its good to come back to a Necroxis video where he isn't visibly miserable by the questionable decisions of the overall story of the shadowlands.
I hated doing Val'sharah's storyline because you had to kill Ysera in the end, Possessed or not, it's still Ysera, and I hated doing that with my main and my alts, to have done Ardenweald and see her resurrected was such a sigh of relief, in saying, she's back, all is restored.
Yes I am also aware of the possibility that it's Eonar but here's the reason why I don't believe this:
a.) Eonar is in self-imprisonment at the Seat of the Pantheon. And at this point, the "Eonar ---> Ysera" interaction is no longer the canon. Eonar isn't the one who blessed the Dragonflights, it was Titan Watchers on their behalf. Furthermore, Ysera was around before the Titans found Azeroth in the first place, she existed as a Proto-Drake, same as the Emerald Dream, which existed before the Titans found the planet.
b.) Elune and Ysera share a LOT of common lore, and are known to have multiple connections, including regarding Malorne and Cenarius.
c.) Elune DIRECTLY intervenes when Ysera dies and takes her spirit to the Shadowlands to protect it from the Maw, placing it into the Wildseed pod. The pod that the Winter Queen is talking about regarding being "Her sister's pet" exists only because Elune saved her.
In regards to C do we know that the machinery of death was already broken by the time of Ysera's death then? It had always been my theory that Argus's death was what broke it, something which I felt the cutscene of when the Arbiter went dormant supported given she was hit by a soul that looked like a red meteor, much like what we've seen Sargeras represented as when he's hurtling through space. And correct me if I'm wrong but I think Argus was represented that way as well when he was pulled to the Seat of the Pantheon before we fought him.

@@XxHrallundeadrogueXx Eonar was not part of whatever the Pantheon of Life is (There isn't one from all indications), she was part of the Order category.
@@necroxisz Also include, when we looked for titan-related items in Legion, we didn’t have an item related to Eonar, what we had was Tears of Elune. Also all nature/life-related characters in Azeroth and in the rest of the Universe know Elune, like Qadarin and his boyfriend, and the spirit bear, so we know Elune is a goddess related to life known across the universe. And with that, when Eonar was almost killed by Sargeras, her spirit took refuge in a world named Elunaria. These all points out, that while Eonar is the Titan of Life who empowered Ysera via Keeper Freya (Titan Keepers are a retcon from the original WC lore btw), Eonar isn’t the end of the line for Life, the end of the line is Elune. Elune is the sister of the Winter Queen. Having said that, I don’t think there’s a “Summer Queen”, the Winter Queen is called that because she is the one who oversees spirits of nature who has died in Life, and has therefore entered the Winter of their times, waiting for Spring-the return to life. Exactly how Cenarius lived again. I honestly think the idea of a Summer Queen is silly 😂. Life is Elune, the Spring and Summer, death is Winter Queen, the Fall and Winter.
@@necroxisz It is Eonar, Elune is a Light Lord, that's why she has Void Powers as well. Eonar has channeled her Power through Ysera and gave her the power over the Emerald Dream.
You are misconcepting the Cosmic Chart. The Titans see themselves as a Power of Order, but that's their view on how things go.
I think Eonar is more affiliate to life than to order.
Damn this actually got me emotional... Dunno why, i am not that big of a fan of Ysera. Must be the music man... Nightsong is so beautifull, It is definitely in my top 3 best songs blizz ever made.
Elune works, but I believe she means Eonar. I think somewhere in questlines and/or in World Quests Ysera is reffered to as Eonar's pet.
Eonar literally made Ysera into an Aspect
Eonar is a titan. The Eternal Ones (Winter Queen, Archon, etc) are not titans. They're far older. Thus a titan could not be Winter Queen's sister.

But a question tho, does the Winter Queen sacrifice some sort of her life to get Yesra back, eg. the leaf falling from her antlers.
I believe Eonar is Winter Queen's sister (as it was Eonar who blessed Ysera and Alexstrasza) and Elune is their 'Mother' basically. Elune being one of these 'First Ones' that made the Pantheons
In game right before the cinematic it is showing image of ysera and cenarius which were both created by elune. Don’t try to complicate a good story

i thought the Seelie Court was represented by Eune's full moon and the Unseelie Court by Elunes new moon, but no, the Winter Queen IS the Unseelie Court and completes the cicle

There's more to this story not mentioned here but it is not Eonar, it is Elune
Eonar is nothing like how the Winter Queen describes her sister.
In the Night Fae campaign, she makes a comment saying if people thinks SHE'S vengeful, they should see her sister.
Eonar is never portrayed, ever, as vengeful or violent, only peaceful and healing like a mother figure.
Elune has repeatedly been stated to both be peaceful and nurturing but also having a vengeful side to her. That's the literal point of The Night Warrior.
Ya in game an image of cenarius is there as well which was created by Elune not Eonar
There's a reason Elune brought Ysera to Ardenweald when she passed in Legion, she clearly intended for the Winter Queen to resurrect her. Makes no sense to refer to Eonar who has had 0 interaction with Ysera's death and rebirth in Legion/Shadowlands thus far.
I definitely think that her sister is Eonar and not Elune. First off, Eonar is the creator of the Emerald Dream, which is the Spring and Summer to the Winter Queen's Fall and Winter. They're both "gods" of nature and rebirth, I think this is more of a "sister in purpose" as opposed to actual sisters. Secondly Eonar is the one who empowered Ysera and it was for her that Ysera worked to protect the Emerald dream. Elune has very little to do with Ysera outside of her training Cenarius and Elune later guiding her to the shadowlands, in addition to this the night fae covenant sell and item called "Memory of Eonar" implying that she's somehow tied to that covenant. Elune being her sister would be an obfuscation and would make far less sense than it being Eonar.
a.) Eonar did not create the Emerald Dream. Freya discovered a prototypical version of it and shaped it herself.
b.) Freya, with Eonar's power, is the one who empowered Ysera and Alexstrasza.
c.) Eonar is a creature of Arcane, not Life.
d.) To say that Elune has very little to do with Ysera is just false, sorry.

I've literally never watched Pyromancer but hey lemme break some of this down for you. Eonar's title is the life binder, she's stated to be the titan patron of all life and nature, she empowered Freya who empowered Ysera with Eonar's power. Elune has always been distant from Azeroth only intervening when it suits her, the person Ysera was associated the most with was Cenarius, who she fostered when he was born in to the dream, not Elune. At least fact check before you talk.

Why Elune is acting in place of all cosmic forces? Why she has ties to both titans, naaru and now eternal ones?
Why Elune is revered throughout entire cosmos as goddess and Winter Queen is not?
Why Elune can intervene in mortal planes while Winter Queen cannot?
I am not saying that Elune is not her sister, actually. I am just poinitng out that Elune seems to be something different, to say at least. She does not fit into cosmology at the moment, but she still can be a sister of Winter Queen. Simply, Eonar works too. Most recent events point to Elune, but dragonflights are connected to titans, Ysera and Alextrasza to Eonar. For that moment it is too soon to call anything confirmed.

Why else would they show Ysera's Legion cinematic in Shadowlands? Def hinting towards Elune since Ardenwealds color scheme closely matches Elune from that cinematic. Why would the Winter Queen dislike her 'Sister's Pet' a.k.a Ysera?
Yup, even if you want to entertain the theories of why it could be Eonar (Which I find tenuous at best), thematically they're shoving Elune all over the place right now.
Between that and Eonar being literally unavailable right now, people aren't even trying to consider what the writers are thematically OBVIOUSLY foreshadowing.

It's amazing how these fictional characters can evoke so much emotion! The Val'sharah cinematic was so sad, so seeing this brought me so much joy! Nice to see somebody else have a similar reaction. I have some guildies who haven't played that long and when Ysera died they were like "why is this a big deal?" They really need to go back and play some of the older stuff, because so many of us mourned her loss, but it made witnessing her rebirth so much more powerful. And the music is just so epic! It was great during the death cinematic, but even better for her rebirth. Sometimes I don't get Blizzard's storytelling decisions and I was so mad when they killed off Ysera, but this was a great pay off! Very glad I chose the Night Fae covenant for my main. It's been a very cool story.

I actually think that Eonar is the Winter Queen's sister. Not that Elune couldn't be, but the Night Fae do sell an item called "Memory of Eonar" so that could be reference to the Queen's sister, since Eonar did channel her power to Ysera (and Alexstrasza), that would make Ysera her sisters "pet."
My theory: Her sister is Eonar who empowered Ysera, and Elune is actually a "First One" who created eonar and the Winter Queen. You may recall in Legion it was stated that Elune created the Prime Naaru Xe'ra "at the ordering of the cosmos", and Blizzard has always said that Elune was somehow on a whole other level than even the Titans.
Just completed this quest, thankfully I avoided spoilers.
We can confirm, Elune is a First One or at least an Eternal as Winter queen

The Winter Queen, as an Eternal One, predated the Titans. It follows her sister would also have done so.
And we know they strongly imply in Legion that Elune also predated the Titans.
@@necroxisz I maybe wrong, but I believe Elune is part of what the Primus in Maldraxxus called the First Ones. Didn't the Primus also mentioned that the rulers of each realm of the Shadowlands considered one another as siblings? If so, it's quite possible that the Winter Queen was referring to the Archon of Bastion. Just my two cents.

I think the eternal ones are Titan-level (the death equivilant to what the titans are for order) and the Jailer is "titan ++", the Jailer seems to be something different.
Maybe Elune is the winter queens "Life" equivalent. I.E. the equivalent of the titans and eternal ones for "life".

Finished up Bastion, Mald, Ardeneald and just landed in Revendreth and managed to avoid spoilers so I knew we found Ysera in a wildseed but not this

Mate, a few videos ago back before release i agreed with you Maldraxxus seemed particularly uninteresting.
Wondering if you still feel that way because i was pleasantly surprised how much fun the zone was and i even ended up going Necro as my covenant despite my previous bias against them.
I stopped playing after I finished Bastion because of the Sylvanas cinematic and how much I hate what they're trying to do with her character, so I didn't do Maldraxxus or any other zone.

@@necroxisz ah come on man. The expansion is great so far. Who gives a shit about Sylvanas. She is gonna go all "what have i done" or "i only tried to help!" in her dying moments and we gonna act sad about it but in the end she isnt what makes or breaks shadowlands.
So far the covenant stories are a lot of fun and the worldbuilding is great. Maldraxxus was a massive surprise. Most people ive spoken to absolutely love the zone.

When the winter queen says that Ysera is of her "sister" who she means ? Elune or Eonar?
If it is Eonar then its alright with what we have seen already, they are the Pantheon of Death and Eonar would be of the Pantheon of Order.
But if she is talking about Elune, what would it mean? Elune is a Titan? An member of the Pantheon of Death? A member of another kind of Pantheon?
I mean I think it’s pretty clear Elune is life not Order or Death. It may not even be her literal sister but a metaphorical one where The Winter Queen deals with Nature Spirits in the Shadowlands and Elune deals with them in the Emerald Dream thus making them sisters.
Well.. think about why Order(Titan Pantheon) has Life Titan Eonar? Why was the place where Eonar's spirit resided called Elunaira? WHY did Shadowlands show Ysera's Legion cinematic? Why did Elune assist Ysera's spirit into Ardenweald? Why does The Winter Queen show dislike towards her 'Sister's Pet' a.k.a Ysera?

Eonar has no connection to anything going on in the story right now. She's literally locked away with the rest of the Pantheon and Sargeras unable to do anything.
Storytelling 101 makes it so incredibly obvious who they are referring to. I bring up literally every point in this video.
The one and only thing people who think its Eonar can point to is that Eonar (THROUGH Freya, it wasn't even Eonar herself) empowered Alexstrasza and Ysera. After that Ysera is FAR, FAR more connected to Elune than Eonar.
There has been literally no narrative legwork done by the storytellers to imply that Eonar is the one the Winter Queen is talking about, and a significant amount of narrative legwork to link Elune to MULTIPLE storylines right now in Shadowlands. Including Ysera, Tyrande, the Night Warrior couple, ect.

People keep asking when I'll react to the other cinematics. I've stopped playing the game after seeing the Sylvanas cinematic due to how much I disliked it.
So who knows. There won't be a Sylvanas cinematic reaction because I already saw it and I don't want to fake my reaction.
I'm currently 54 in Oribos after having just finished Bastion and I haven't played it since finishing Bastion and don't know when I will continue, if ever.

When Arthas becomes The Jailer of the Shadowlands.. he will save us from the Dark Lady. Uther becomes the Archon. Ysera becomes The Emerald Queen. Draka the Primus. Kael'thas and Garrosh rule Revendreth. YES... ITS SO CLEAR NOW.

Also you wanting this system to keep going with different people in charge just shows how much of a fool you are, even people in the Shadowlands think that the system is wrong.

She is of my sister, meaning Winter Queen's sister is "mother/creator of Ysera" The only "deity in Warcraft lore who had any ties in creating Ysera as a being or as an aspect is Eonar through Freya. So no. Elune is not Winter Wueen's sister, it can be only Eonar or Freya. Which, if it is Eonar makes perfect sense since she is the only one who avoided Sargares betreyal. Elune befriended Ysera, gave her the son she had with Malorne, Cenarius to raise him and adopt him. Second part why it can't be Elune is: By blizzard words, Elune is cosmic being worshiped across the universe and not only on Azeroth. Which means that she is either one of the First ones (hence older and more powerful then Winter Queen) since Winter Queen is Eternal and not First one, or they shitted on their newly established lore, and that would not surprise me at all either. But, by all the "facts" we have now. Elune cannot be Winter Queen's sister. Eonar can and it makes perfect sense
