Size of the holes punched in a paper target is Irrelevant. 10mm is SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful than .45 acp. But if you are more accurate with the glock 21, accuracy almost always trumps power so i cant argue with that point..
Just purchased a Glock 21 Gen 4 and so far it’s absolutely love it!!! I have always loved the .45 caliber & the recoil of the G21 is very low. Getting ready to put some Trijicon HD night sights on my G21. I’m not a big fan of making a lot of modifications on my pistols but I do not like the Glock factory sights that come in their pistols. I have a glock 30SF gen 3 with a storm lake 10mm conversion barrel works great shoots very accurate and takes glock 20 mags. Plus I can put back the original barrel 45. I also have a 45s complete slide and a 9 round magazine that fits flush . That makes it the exact size as a glock 19.
The 10mm is better for penetration. Which is what you want for the woods gun, especially bears who have thicker skin. I’d be taking that Glock 20 if I were you!!
Right?!? Lol. Self defense or small animals it likely doesn’t matter but I have had 45s. There is NO way I would want to only have a 45 if I was up against a Bear, Lion, or moose. Sure the 45 kicks less. That is not the plastic spring that is the MUCH weaker shot. You are talking barely more that 1/2 of the power out of the 45 than the 10mm from the same manufacturer.
I owned both the Glock 20 and 21 at one point then sold the 20 only to regret it later. So, then I recently purchased just the Glock 20 slide for a few hundred dollars used, and now I can switch calibers any time because the frames are identical. Just change the mags and the slide and you're ready to go.
Love the gen 3...i just won a glock 21 sf police on gunbroker...factory night sights and 3 mags....looks to be unused...prob get it tomorrow..cant wait.
Like both,10 mm and ability to use 40 s&w , but a 45 acp delivers a massive bullet and energy on target at 50 yards or less exactly what the military designed it for, and a 10 mm for large animals 2 or 4 legged animals, and a 45 acp for two legged animals 🤔?
@@erik22lax better off Taurus Smith or Glock only If it’s for SD Really cz more of collection/sale than anything for me especially if jojo go import crazy 🤣

I’ve owned a Gen4 G21 since it released and I love it, but I really wanted a G20. I recently purchased a Gen5 G20 and I love it way more, you’re acting like your G21 SF isn’t a Glock with out the same features as your G20, besides the after market stuff you’ve done. I think the real issue is that you have small hands from what I can see. I use the large back strap on all of my Glocks that have them including my gen4 G23. A glock is a Glock besides whatever changes may be between generations. My G21 I paid almost $700 at a time when costs of guns where high. I paid under $600 for my G21. The size of the holes don’t matter it’s the penetration. A 5.56 makes a small hole on paper but the penetration is definitely greater. I definitely prefer my 10mm over my .45 acp. This is just my opinion.
I don't like the gen4 or gen5. They changed the grip and the recoil spring. Mine is gen3. I do have small hands and the short frame allows me to grip the brick better.
The 10mm is what you want for bears or large critters.. 45 ACP is no better than 9mm .. and I’d even argue 9mm is better for critters than 45 . 45 is the least penetrating service pistol caliber . Train more with the 10mm and you’ll reap the benifits. the reason you can’t hit with the 10mm is not the trigger is the added recoil and you anticipating it.. TRUST ME
The .45 is the least penetrating but the .45 hits with great lbs of energy than the 9mm due to the .45 bigger a bigger heavier bullet. With that being said both are lethal both will get the job done and I personally like and own both!!!
It all depends on what you're carrying for. As you stated, if you're taking a hike through the woods and there's an abudant of bears and other large predators then the 10mm is the way to go but for your average every day carry in the city or around a large population then the .45 would be ideal to carry. It's all scenario based. It's the same debate regarding the .300 BLK in an AR15 pistol vs an AR15 rifle chambered in 223/556.
When you shoot a 230 grain 45 caliber at something, it's the same amount of lead as two 115 grain 9 mm, but the bullet dumps all of it's energy and expansion into the target, exactly what Browning designed the round to do. I would prefer a bullet that dumps most of its energy within the target if I'm inside a dwelling and the concern is penetration. However, if penetration was needed, I would go with the 9mm or 10mm. To say 45 is no better than 9mm is not entirely true; by mass a 45 is like two 9mm shots coming at you.

Love my Glock 20 gen 5 mos great gun
You should try an conversion barrel for the glock 20 40 s&w..
I got rid of it recently and got a CZ 75B instead

I have both and love the that I can use the same holsters for both
i have a Safariland holster I bought for one and noticed it fits both models

Thats cool you can have different calibers with a barrel swap. I looked at the 30S but decided to just stick with the full size model.
