  • Bikepacking in New Zealand South Island. We rode the Queen Charlotte Track from Ships Cove to Anakiwa in one day on full suspension mountain bikes. A trek Fuel EX 9.9 and a Santa Cruz Tallboy.
A slightly more adventurous day than what we had in mind. A combination of a delayed drop off, an early pick up and a broken bottom bracket made this day both challenging and emotional.
A list of the gear I used on the 10 day trip, with links to manufacturer websites:

Just found your channel, great videos. How has the tailfin rack held up on the single track? About to purchase one myself but it's difficult to find reviews on it on mtb and not just flat surfaces.

There’s a gear setup video that explains what I took on the trip. I also did the Great Divide using a Tailfin setup. It is really good and I highly recommend it. You do have to pay attention to their weight limits though….

@@picturemyplanet5626 Yeah, would be awful if it broke during the ride but I guess you could say that about everything. I might give it a go and just pack it light enough for mtbing.
