I just watched Part 1 and now this. Amazing, helpful stuff. I've long been aware of superimposition as an improvisational technique, but I avoided it because it seemed so daunting. You've made it accessible. Great lessons.

    Most people agree that kumoi is min 69 (1 2 b3 5 6)
    Jirijoshi is min b69 (1 2 b3 5 b6)
    In western music

Hello, great lesson. Thank you! Do you know the background of why John Coltrane and McCoy Tyner became obsessed with Pentatonics during this period does the 20th century harmony book provide context?

Intersting, the minor69 arpeggio is the same as the kumoi pentatonic.

The self portrait at 6:15 looks like a chat between Paul Klee and Joan Miro!

Yes!! They are among my favorites. Klee and Kandinsky are what I call Jazz for the eyes...

I don't know what it means to superimpose. I have to learn that.

Superimpose just means “play it over”
      As in
      “He super-imposed scale x over chord y”
      =
“He played scale x over chord y”
