I always want to take the old people from these videos home for dinner. They'd be so nice and happy.
I mean this one had the two short haired ladies who absolutely roasted the food every time the camera was on them.
Well, that’s because it is the truth! that wasn’t Mexican dishes. Real Mexican tacos are from corn tortilla (not crispy) with the meat of your choice and for topoings it should have lettuce, guacamole, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, sour cream, hot salsa and some drops of lime. That’s it, those are the incredients of what a real Mexican taco should have.
I saw that episode. I wasn't sure if the old lady was just being polite, or if the young Chinese Americans were saying what they believe people WANT them to say. Because they grew up in the US and probably don't know authentic Chinese, either.

As a mexican having lived in the US and eating both cuisine's I honestly don't think taco bell is bad of course it's not authentic but it's not supposed to be.
Yeah I don’t particularly mind it either. I’ve only been to Taco Bell twice-ish, and honestly, it’s fine. It doesn’t advertise as “authentic” Mexican food, because it’s not Mexican food. It’s Mexican American food. And that’s perfectly fine. Food diverges from its origins all the time. That’s how new cuisines emerge. Thinking food is just the way it’s always been for all eternity, with no change or influence, is ahistorical. It’s like intelligent design, but for gastronomy.

The burritos if they are authentic from Mexico, they are originally from Sonora and Chihuahua, it is a dish that is only eaten in some parts of northern Mexico.

I'm American and lived here my whole life and have been to Taco Bell many times and even I was not aware that they had white rice. Maybe because I don't often order things with white rice in it but I can completely see why she wouldn't know about that especially if she doesn't eat there all the time

I was born in Mexico and I don't have an accent at all. I speak perfect English. Just because you were born in one place doesn't mean you will only ever speak the language from that place or that you will have an accent. Many children who immigrate to the U.S. learn English very quickly and speak it flawlessly.
They might be Mexican-Americans. Meaning they were born in the United States but have Hispanic parents/roots.

They aren’t claiming it’s the best taco in the world or the most authentic Mexican taco that you will have. It’s a version of taco which btw, already by them using different ingredients, kinda turns it into their own version of tacos. So you can no longer even claim it as “ours” as a Mexican. It’s a different dish.

Im part Mexican and my grandmother would make traditional Mexican food all the time. I love Taco Bell, it’s not meant to be authentic, it’s actually different enough to where I can really enjoy it without feeling like it’s “fake” Mexican food.

Well by law and culturally, they're US Americans. Those latinos who have a strong American accents are not Mexican. I would rather want a Mexican born and raised over there to get a better prespective. Latino can say they are Mexican all they want but at the end day, they're US Americans and grew up here in the states.
A friend of me once told me, tacos are good even when they are wrong :D and i completely agree with her, i tried taco bell when I lived in the USA during summer camps and i loved them, with no many chances to eat mexican food, Taco Bell was good enough for me :D

It's hardly irrelevant and within context because mexican rice is orange. These are pre conceived notions regardless of whether the food is authentic or not because the restaurant name implies mexican food, where rice is orange. The question is appropriate. White, flavorless rice is not a thing in mexican culture.

And no, the restaurant name doesn't imply Mexican food. It implies tacos... which refer primarily to a dish construction, not a set recipe. Are they of a recipe typically seen in Mexico? No... but they are very much still tacos, as a taco is still a taco pretty well regardless of what you choose to put on it. To say otherwise would be like saying a pizza with pepperoni isn't a real pizza, or a hot dog without mustard isn't a real hot dog. Taco refers to how it's assembled, not specifically with the toppings that are put on it... hence the reason they're distinguished by what comes after them (al pastor, de lechon, de lengua, de cazuela, de carnitas, etc.)

Lol. Honestly, it's not good at all. It's good if you're starving and have no money for any real authentic food. That's about as far as Taco Bell goes. It's just a rip off of real good foods made into Americanized fattier versions with a shitload of cheese (pretty cheap cheese) and filler "meat". I'd rather spend a couple more dollars on a real taco than spend a cent at taco bell and get the whole menu.

My mom absolutely hates Taco Bell. If you're an authentic Mexican, you were raised with homemade food. Every time I go visit my grandma, they always have some huge dinner prepared. It's always fresh. Even the meat. They kill the animal early morning and spend all day prepping it for a huge meal. Taco Bell is all factory. It just won't ever live up (it's not even Mexican).

I learned about this in school. The founder of Taco Bell, this guy named something Bell, tried a mexican taco from this tiny restaurant owned by a mexican immigrant couple, and he loved it. But he knew that Americans wouldn't be so keen to try it, so he "Americanized" the spice, flavors, etc. That's why Taco Bell is so non-authentic.
