- For Don , even a short walk down the street to see friends can leave him struggling to breathe.
Don was diagnosed with progressive lung disease Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) two years ago.
The condition means he sometimes struggles to catch his breath, wheezing and often has a cough.
Here he explains how he lives with the condition and why he believes the support he receives to manage COPD would have helped his wife Carole, who sadly passed away after her COPD steadily worsened.

I lost my friend who I met in 7th grade. I’m in my 60’s now. She died a few months after my other long time friend died and they were both younger than I am and both died from copd. My friend kept begging me to quit smoking because she said it’s the worst thing she’s ever been through, even though she had hiv for many years. I’ve quit for years at a time but I have always started again. I’d love to stop smoking.
so would i my friend, tried @ tried but i just can not, been told i must but i just cant stop.

I quit a week ago smoking I'm 60 has COPD for five yrs started coughing nonstop when I lit a ciggarette. Now I just suck on the ciggie without lighting it and it's working for me I just have terrible acid reflux now eating to much now and there I purge again. I must try to control my hunger thank you for the video
I have copd (Belgium).but I have an oxygen transformator at home and a small generator to go outside, all payed by the social security. Just went on holiday for 3 weeks in Spain, the breathing goes much better there. In every hotel there was a oxygen transformator available.why does those people havent all those devices?

Some people live many years with it before ending up in a more extreme situation, so you can def live with COPD
