Charlotte seems like the reason Jonathon is so strong. They are a perfect duo.
I feel like the music teacher knew that pairing them two would boost his confidence and help him open up more and help him acknowledge and bring out his true potential. She's good too but he was amazing.
Glad he had the balls to say to that auld Simon Cowell I think we came as a duo and will stay that way. Simon thought by been rude to her and praising Jonathon that he would just dump her.....But, he stood his ground saw what Cowell was trying to do and put his friendship first.

She's sweet and nice, and maybe all helping him massively, and it is important for him, so they said yes to duo. But.. his singing level is much more high, and it's a fact. She made pretty much mistakes during her singing.
But Jonathan is a good young man, as I can see, so he shows how this friendship is more important for him.

The fact that he can manage to perform this flawlessly, with absolute confidence, yet be this earth-shatteringly terrified? Is nothing short of astounding. One of thee best singers on the show, in every season, ever!

Jonathan is a good person, I can see it. He was being judged before he could even have a chance. All those looks from the people in the crowd are damaging. He has an amazing voice and just because someone is not talkative doesn’t mean they aren’t talented. Those two should be in a disney movie they have the perfect voices for it.
I loved when Jonathan said "we came here as a duo and we're gonna stay here as a duo" that's a good friend there.

The way Jonathan looked at Charlotte when Simon told him that he sang better than her! He was more worried that she would be hurt instead of just beeing happy about the compliment. He is a real man to me...even thought he was just 17 at that time. Big voice and big heart!❤
Oh he is so sweet. He'll find love with his character. Looks are not important when you have a strong character and such a huge loyalty towards your friends
I think she also had a great voice, maybe just not as suited for this genre of music as his was. That and his voice was so powerful it overshadowed hers some too.
I think he knew that too, and that he probably wouldn't be able to bring himself to be on that stage without her. But his concern was for her feeling was easily seen, sweet boy!

I love how the audience reacted with a standing ovation during the performance of Jonathan. It proves that when something is beautiful, everybody recognizes it - even though most of us aren't particularly crazy about opera. 🙂 Great job, Jonathan! 🥰
I hate the opera, and I loved Johnathan's performance 💕 truly amazing
Opera is like a good brandy, you sip it slowly, and the more you sip it the more you enjoy it!! The more you listen to opera, the more you begin to understand it, and then the more you begin to enjoy it!!! And when you get to my age (mid-70´s) you really enjoy it!!!

I absolutely adore him. I truly believe he will someday be known as one of the Great Opera singers of all time. I'm not a huge AGT fan so i actually only found him on a CZcams video a year or so ago but then i found a more recent video of him. He's like a big deal now and good looking too. He's definitely turned into one of my favorite singers. I'm not even a fan of Opera but he's amazing. I see where he'd be a really great person too. One of my favorite things about him. I truly hope he tours US after Covid. I'd love to go watch him sing.

Exactly. Pavarotti wasn't the smallest either, But is/ was one best opera-singers of alltime. On the other hand i always think, why don't They get on stage, see if they can do better, all who judge that way. But Jonathan's voice blew 'em all away 🤣

Nobody is talking about kyle, i absolutely loved how he seemingly came back to show up a judge, and he absolutely killed it omg. He never gave up and for that he did absolutely incredible. I truly hope he went somewhere with it.

The first act is incredible...gives me chills every time I listen to it. And I feel bad for how the judges treated Charlotte. She sang really well and was also an awesome friend. Hope they are both doing great now.
I, too, I wonder how they both are! You could see the hurt on her but she totally kept her grace about her.

@@rochachannel8074 I don't think it was an amicable separation either. During an interview with Jonathan, he was asked if they would ever sing together again. He hesitated and with a look of dissatisfaction on his face he said, maybe in twenty or twenty five years. As if it would take him that long to overlook whatever disagreement they had. JMHO. Btw, he is doing great! He's lost a tremendous amount of weight, married a beautiful woman whom he loves, and his career has skyrocketed. His net worth is over $4 mil. dollars. Good for him!
i don’t think it was fair for the judges to compare the voices as if she wasn’t a very skilled singer just because his voice was “surprising” . he is an amazing singer but his appearance shouldn’t have meant ANYTHING in the act. they were both good enough… her face explained it all:(
I saw another video where they were further in the competition and Simon admitted he was wrong about her and was glad they stayed together
No one is talking about Kyle, the boy who was refused when he was 12, but came back to blow the audience away with an EMOTIONAL performance of "Hallelujah"...

My thinking is what if he was not as good as he is now.
Obviously the advice he was given, that he still had a chip about was justified....it worked and Huey gave him the golden buzzer out of admiration or compassion.

I felt for her two. She has an incredible voice for a 16 yr old. But she was out of tune several times, and Jonathan sounded like a professional. But she is definitely the strong foundation of the duo.

Charlotte deserves a significant amount of credit. I know part of her was crushed when Simon made that snide comment to her. I also know it was a great relief when Johnathan said "We came as a duo, we stay as a duo". you could see it on her face.
Courtney's audition has always been one of my favorites! The way she came to life when she started singing, like the music set her free, is just so cool to watch!

I can relate to Jonathan's shy nature / low self-confidence quite a lot. Experienced a lot of the similar issues that he does/did and I still do. But to see him go out there, to sing so amazingly.. My heart goes out to him.

I don't think so, I love classical music but am kind of uneasy listening to this audition - she is getting very lost there, sounds kind of flat in some places... If that was a duet in any of the operas that I have seen I would not give too good of a review to the whole thing..

It debuted at #1 on itunes Classical Chart, as did his recent CD "Christmasland Platinum Edition" which includes the Beautiful "Caro Gesu Bambino" "Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle" "Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy"(he sings both parts) and "Silent Night/Stille Nacht" in Both English and original German. Listen again, concentrating exclusively on Charlotte. You'll find she was VERY pitchy & her voice sounded thin in the wrong places. Actually she was NOT good. Simon was generous!

You lot are so naive - people on TV always will see the right things to sound politically correct - behind the scenes it's usually not that way - Good attitude usually wins brownie points in this industry - not just the talent - once the money rolls in and the fame starts, let's see if she thinks the same way - I've seen this kind of thing long enough to know this - there is a difference between saying something and saying something you really mean.
I personally have no talent whatsoever. So i always feel happy for people with these amazing talents. They make me so proud and I wish nothing but the best for them.

I think emulating Chris Robinson's (of the Black Crowes) vocal & movement idioms allowed Courtney a channel to move her talent through. I think (in her mind) she BECAME him. You couldn't do that without talent, though, & becoming someone else would allow her to harness her shyness. I don't think the shyness is a facade. Look how shy Jonathan was then contrast it with his full-throated vocal. MANY times, performers are very introverted & timid off the stage ("in real life"), then somehow morph into warriors onstage.
That version of Beau is my favorite of all time, you can really feel all that emotions over and over again!
The audience and judges are perfect examples of PEOPLE JUDGING OTHER PEOPLE WITHOUT KNOWING THEM

Courtney’s audition is so cool because you can tell she gets into it as soon as it starts. Then adding to her amazing voice! She blew me away! She has this amazing way of movement that helped her cope with nervousness! This audition was insane.

I hate how the whole “message” of the show is to welcome everyone, encourage individuality and not judge people but when it involves certain people (typically larger people), the entire show judges them before anything happens.

You need confidence with the ability to capture the audience and stage presence, global auditions are like the olympics only a handful of people can be accepted into the competition there are no free handouts in life when there’s almost 9 billion humans on earth.

I hate it when people judge other people by their looks. Jonathan was one of my all-time favorites on these talent shows. I love how when he started to sing he shut the mouths of all the scoffers.

I haven’t seen anyone comment about Marlisa and her absolutely breathtaking cover of yesterday. She was stunning and hers was probably one of my favorites of the bunch. She was crushing her top keys and her transitions were nearly flawless. Just beautiful.
