    If you are using a very budget board i would suggest supporting the socket with your finger while inserting the switch since it seems like some sockets are a bit loose, this "technique" was in the building guide of the Nk65 EE, im not sure if they updated it but if you are really worried about popping off a socket this could be useful

    • @MechKeyboards
      @MechKeyboards  Před rokem +5

      Absolutely, if you have the PCB out and can install the switches while supporting the back of each socket, that would be ideal. I'm hoping to help those that may be swapping switches in an already built kit to prevent from popping those sockets off.

      Do the hot swap sockets on your PCB round or round with what looks like a clip inside of it?
      Outemu hot swap sockets or Mill Maxx are round sockets that only work with a handful of switches from Outemu, Ajazz, Akko. If your PCB looks like this (preview.redd.it/hn9mzofb5lw21.jpg?auto=webp&s=ee21acdd7353192a1025ce15cdda1256eb3b09a7) then they are Outemu.
