1. Nb3 Rc2 or e2; 2. Rf7xf2+, Rxf2; 3. Nd2+ Qxd2; 4. Qe3xd2 (Queen is save, because Rf2 is pinned)
Piece of cake!
I managed to find these forcing moves if I played like George Hatfeild Gossip.
Another great game, and a puzzle that made me realize how much I've learned from your channel. Before I started watching Chess with Suren, I never would have figured out Nb3--now, after 4 years of your "lessons," it came rather easily. Thank you!
40 years ago I had a copy of The Chess Player's Manual, not in brilliant condition. About 3/4's of the 912 pages were the King's Gambit!
Legend
1889 wow what level of sacrifice
George Gossip was inconsistent, kind of a lesser version of Alexander Tolush, who also could be brilliant.
1. ... Nb3 2. Re2 Rxf2+ 3. Rxf2 Nd2+ 4. Qxd2 Qxd2 5. Rxf8+ Kxf8
I'll admit I didn't find Nb3. Black is clearly in the drivers seat, but no immediate knockout.
Publish the puzzle game or share the link atleast after some time...
Clearly he cheated, using a computer engine..
just kidding
Those were the days you could afford to be brilliant without fearing of being accused of cheating.
I love seeing a queen sacrifice in game play. 👍🏾🤓♟️
