I also took typing class in high school, and still consider it one of the best class I ever took. I think I made it up to 70 wpm. I remember writing my papers long hand, and then typing them on my typewriter. Remember the corrector tape for when you made a mistake? I know I’m really aging myself but I taught myself to type when I was 10 years old on a manual typewriter my mother bought so she could learn how to type. She never touched the thing but I did and I can still type close to 100 wpm.
