As a musician for years, this is without a doubt one of the most romantic songs ever put to paper. Songwriters dream of having this melody and words pop into their head at some point...I dream of the day I can say these words to that special lady in my life.
Can't think of a song that's more thoughtful, romantic, and touching.
"I've been saving love songs and lullabies...And there's so much more no one's ever heard before..." Those lyrics always get me choked up. Whst a grand song! I loved it from the first time I heard it in Tootsie. I can listen to it all day. It's captivating. I'm a 59 year old woman discovering love with a wonderful man in the autumn of my life and I've been searching for a song that can reflect how I feel right now. This song is it. Big thanks to the person who posted it.
This makes me miss my first True Love it's been since the 1970's and we haven't seen each other in 42 years I have to accept that its done but I still miss him soooooo much. God has helped me through this long journey. Maybe I will see him someday !!!!!! :]
This song tugged at my heart while I was married. I used to get all choked up. Only it wasn't for my husband. I didn't know who it was for. Fast forward 23 years and perchance I meet the most wonderful man and guess what song is playing on the radio? We've never been apart since that day. Eighteen years.... not a cross word between us. Now we're two old farts! But still so in love....
And that is...perfect.
As a twelve yr old in 1982, "Tootsie" was one of the first adult films I ever saw. Even then, as a burgeoning music fan of artists like Elton John, the Bee Gees, Eagles, etc., "It Might Be You" struck me for both its lush romantic melody and the aching hope for love that the lyrics convey.
51yrs later, Bishop's elegant torch song still rates as one of the finest ballads of its time. Bravo, Bish!

when me and my wife got married back in 2007, i had made a wedding music cd for all of our guest with music that meant soo much to us and this song was on it out of 20 songs..one of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed..

I had just met someone I was falling in love with when this song came out. The first couple months with that girl were magical - the best 2 months of my life - but sadly, it didn't last. Reality came crashing in, and she walked away a few months later. But the memory of that happy time remains, and this song always takes me back to then. Thanks Stephen.
Beautiful song, very romantic. It was really nice and heart warming to see the couple at the end share a kiss and hug, as it seems to be a special song for them, it was only a second or two, but a beautiful moment for them and lovely to see.
This song is so sweet and simple, it actually brings tears to my eyes and makes me think of a simpler time in life (the 80's). A timeless classic!

I don't think there's a better song than this 1 to describe how you feel about your significant other. I feel this way about my girlfriend, I really love her and haven't felt this way about a woman in a long, long time. I'm a real hard ass manly man but this song stirs something up to me.
