I keep my hair braided in plats and sleep in a bonnet. I also sleep on satin pillowcases. I can’t have my hair loose like that. It will get tangled and knotted up. I keep it braided in big sections to give me volume. I prefer that over definition. I get bomb braidouts that are fluffy. I just put it back in the braids at the end of the day.

Silk pillowcases also help keep the hairstyle.
I do the same when i do wash n goes, but use small satin scrunches.
When I do I twist out, my hair is long and elongated enough where I can do one big middle pineapple with a headband. I found some loose cheapy ones from Five and Below.
Both methods I always cover with a bonnet.

Just wondering why you don't use satin scrunchies instead? They even make tiny ones that would be perfect for your technique, and would cause less friction on your hair.
Because I already have these lol. You definitely can use satin though. It’s not tight around my hair at all, just enough to keep it in place so I’m not worried about friction.
