Reviews:
"A very enjoyable Bigfoot documentary
The meteoric success of "The Legend of Boggy Creek" not only led to two sequels, but also beget a flood of like-minded documentaries all striving to both provide photographic evidence of the ever-evasive creature's existence and bilk bucks from the wallets of innumerable drive-in theater patrons. "The Legend of Bigfoot" is such a cash-in, right down to its title which suspiciously echoes "Boggy Creek" 's moniker. Actually, this appealingly earnest and engrossing effort manages to be highly enjoyable thanks mostly to the delightfully rough, tough and oh-so-gruff rugged outdoorsman presence of Ivan Marx. Marx, a hunter, trapper, tracker and all-around man's man in excelsis, embarks on a vigorous, determined, unflagging cross country pilgrimage to track down and confirm the veracity of that much beloved sylvan beastman of longstanding myth. Marx travels all over America from the Oregon coast to the Colorado Rocky Mountains to Sasquatch's mating grounds in the Artic Circle.
It's Marx's clearly honest and unfeigned commitment to finding Bigfoot which gives this feature a significant lift out of the rut. It's especially a pleasure to hear Marx's crusty say-it-like-you-see it musings on mankind's intrusion on nature, his disdain towards shyster businessmen's crass commercial exploiting of Bigfoot, occasional self-deprecating remarks ("Here I am a grown man runnin' around the woods chasin' after some fairytale"), cynicism concerning the so-called experts' offensive arrogance, and brilliant deductive observations about Bigfoot's migratory nature based on the behavior of other animals. Moreover, Marx's delving into Native American folklore concerning Mr. Over-sized Pawprints is interesting and informative (other Indian names for ol' big'n'hairy include the Oh-Man, Bushman and Stickman). The excellent cinematography captures the breathtaking beauty of the North American wilderness with stunning clarity and precision. Harry Stuart Winer's brisk direction, a script which supplies a winningly sincere blend of skepticism and speculation, and Don Peake's liltingly melodic country score round off the goodies to be relished in this infectiously full-blooded cinematic ode to a faded, rapidly disappearing, adventurous all-American frontier spirit."-Written by Woodyanders

The most enjoyable films of the cryptid are these old ones from the 60's and 70's. 👍
This is a gem of a documentary
This film belongs in a museum or at least a time capsule; perfectly captures the movie making style then, in music, narration and storyline. I think The Legend of Boggy Creek was a couple of years earlier, which I guess should get some slack because it was talking about a legend; it seemed more like a Drive-In movie. If anyone here is old enough to know what those were.
Write on
there's more wholesome masculine and feminine energy in this film than exists currently in the USA, phenomenal!
By design.
My parents took us to see this at the theaters in 1975. I recall seeing my father nudging my mother and pointing at me; he told me later that he was amused at how I was sitting on the edge of my seat with my mouth wide open as if I'd seen a ghost! I was simultaneously fascinated and terrified!
🤣Memories like that is what makes life special mate! 👍🇬🇧
You lucky as hell my friend thanks for sharing it’s really heart warming keep smiling god bless ya
I was 9 years old when I scene it at the theater and I had to walk home after in the dark , I should say I ran home !!!
I get entertained by the sounds and Art Bell knowing Sasquatch is real.
Art Bell would be proud of the Silverton Colorado Sasquatch sighting ✨
Same here, nightmares for years after

Bigfoot, and the Bermuda triangle seemed to have departed around 6 - 15 , 1978 at approximately 1: 12 AM Pacific Time.
1975 was the height of the Bigfoot fascination.
A Lot of interesting close ups of Wildlife, oddly enough Sasquach isn't amongst these various creatures
The Legend of Bigfoot was released to theaters in 1976.[1] Ivan Marx made two follow-up documentaries: In the Shadow of Bigfoot and Bigfoot: Alive and Well in '82.
His grandsons are tracking the monster even today.

I'm only 20 minutes in & this documentary may be the best I've seen! Why did this go away from tv?
money and not "hip" enough for modern viewers🤔🤔😞😞😞😞🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲
Because after Ivan died, his wife admitted the "films" he made (save for the very first reals he submitted to scientists) were of her in a costume in the woods. She said Ivan was so pissed that the scientific community rejected the footage he gave them. So, this film with her dancing in the woods was his reaction to their response. His wife said the outfit was made by old fur coats they got from thrift and pawn shops.
It's because he hoaxed everyone
Peggy was paid to debunk it, if she did. She was a believer.
@@Skidderoperator They both were believers. But when Ivan was laughed at and ignored after his first film by scientists and other cryptozoologists, Ivan turned into hoaxer. I am sure he saw originally saw something.
I love this one. It's one of my favorites. The new ones can't compare.

Very very good documentary
These type of documentary films of Bigfoot and other creatures I remember watching this movie way Late 60s early 70s and they were usually on a Friday or Saturday night👍
Those were the days 👍
Yeah, we had sleepovers on Friday nights, watched these as 6-8 year olds and were too scared to sleep lol.
@@jeffreyc9083 My best friend and I would do the same then stay awake til dawn, in part to plan our future expedition out west to find the creature, but mostly because we were to frightened to sleep. I’m 56 now and Nate and I have yet to make that trip. LOL
What channel would paranormal/crypto come on? I was looking in the description. I only had 3 channels growing up.

Great "Story Teller", I can just about pu a name & face to this story teller, not real, but great story telling.
I live in the Pacific Northwest, in the mountains of northeastern Washington state, and I am 51 years old now, but when I was in my teens and grade school age, my grandfather and I, and on another occasion, my mother, sister and I had a few encounters. It was in the mountains, on property that my family still owns today. An encounter in our area now may be rare because the population in the area has increased. What a shame though. Now a days, I would actually have a device with me to record on video the experience.

Cool documentary 👌 😎..
That ground squirrel scene was pretty brutal. I did not think it was still alive at all when the other was dragging it.
He obviously didn't film bigfoot, but the nature footage was still impressive
i paused the video to take a call. before restarting i read a few comments and yours made me laugh, thinking what could be brutal about a ground squirrel scene, i restarted it was right at that scene....damn. more like ground beef squirrel
Great documentary.
My friend Brad O'dette and I went to see this at the Quad Theatre in Saginaw MI. It blew my mind!

Just keep telling yourself that Pollard, if it helps you sleep at night 😆
Yeah, it sorta falls between a Mockumentary and a Pseudo-Documentary.
I thought it was quite obvious, but going by the comments, most are oblivious to it being scripted and fictional.
Still, it's a rippa.
VERY CAMPY
It's fiction as far as this documentary movie maybe. The subject material is very real. Have a look at the Sisteen chapel by Micheal Angelo painted in the 1500s I think? Until you actually see one, if you do, you'll never believe it's a reality unfortunately. Some of us don't just believe, however.
i kept waiting on him to say this is marlboro country! when Bigfoot wants a rich tasting cigarette he reaches for a marlboro!
When it's time to relax , Miller stands clear, beer after beer
Sasquatch could smoke YOU.
Capturing a bigfoot on video is no 'small feat' ... ;)
I think he's the only man I've heard of that has actually found a dead bear. Looked like it died recently.
Very interesting especially if it did have a broken neck. Pretty hard to imagine how else that could have happened
That's a stuffed bear
It fell and broke it's neck, it's a heavy creature, dead bears are found In the wild, it can take days for scavengers to eat them once they've been found.
I found one while logging.

Nice doc. Enjoyed it.
great video
Tres poetique et beau❤
Love these slower paced old school documentary way easier to watch, although the more recent Evil Kinevel one was a good 1 too..
Classic.
I was a kid during the bigfoot craze in the 70s. The documentaries where much more credible than the "It taught me how to swim" and "it spoke to me telepathically" BS we hear today.
You're making judgment my friend. Quite frankly extra sensory perceptions are accepted as a reality anyway. Just because something doesn't fit into your heavily conditioned and programmed view of reality, does not mean that it is "BS"...you don't have to believe it of course, but it would be beneficial for all to open their mind and just simply listen and try to understand these concepts, instead of instantly dismissing and passing judgment as something being phony based off of prior mental and social conditioning.
Remember our eyes actually only see 0.05% of visible light, we don't see other types of light like x-rays or infra red. Don't you think there could be a whole lot put there beyond our perceptions? Our perceptions are extremely limiting. Try to open your mind my friend ✌️
@@rowds Yeah, I'm being judgmental, and in my judgment it's still BS. I live in the real world. If bigfoot exists, it's just another animal like all the other animals (including people) on this planet. It's not some interdimensional psychic creature going around teaching children how to swim.
@@rowds"it taught me how to swim" is something I would call BS....the other part, I could believe. From me to you, they are indeed very real.

In Australia they big black cats, which have been seen by hundreds (thousands?) of people, yet still not recognized as existing. Supposedly those Tasmanian Tigers (marsupials) which look like a cross between a cat and dog (sort of hyena like) are being seen again. These are very reclusive animals, we rarely see cougars or their bones either. I'm sure Bigfoot creatures exist all over the world in the last wilderness areas, even Japan has them on the northern Island of Hokaido, and Australia has its "Yowie" (what a great name for them!). I believe we will see a dead body soon, with all the fires happening they are getting burned-out. Firefighters took pictures of a single-file line of the creatures escaping a fire, shown on the "jailbreak overlander" channel, and Richie has his own amazing stories about Bigfoot.
They aren't what you think they are, and you will never see a body
Bodies are quickly confiscated.
Evidence is suppressed
Clearly the documented proof we have been waiting for!
Truth is very rare I find , it lives in the beholders eye's and will always remain. I have seen this creature personally

I saw a Sasquatch in the early 80's when i was 13 during a canoe trip with my uncle in BC. We were on the side of the river and i went to pee behind a tree and looked up and there he was not even 20 feet away from me, he was peeing too and let me tell you, if more people had the up close view that i had his nickname wouldn't be Big'foot' any longer!

1) The Call ie. it's not a bear doing this
2) The Journey ie. camera swaying in the woods
3) Arrival and Frustration ie. finding tracks and looking for evidence but finally retreat
4) Final Ordeal ie. bigfoot paying a visit
5) The Goal ie. mystery remains allowing for a sequel and another after that

I like how they put friendly faces on the big carving of what bigfoot looks like .lol sure they nice happy friendly big guys you ask for directions if you get lost lol
I think it was shot and injured, maybe the reason for the limp and the arm extended out, its body language could possibly mean he is afraid by the way he keeps looking back trying to get away as fast as possible

Gigantopithecus is not extinct it roams the forest of the Pacific Northwest of the United States and in Boggy Creek, Fouke, Arkansas.

No boggy creek is actually Tom Biscardi’s first ex wife. Babs Biscardi.
Every single state in United States has these biblical nephilim
Why is the question always
“Do you believe in Bigfoot”!??
Bigfoot is gigantopithicus a creature that exists in the fossil records…. it exists
Do we say
“Do you believe in the dodo”?
Or “do you believe in the Tasmanian tiger”!??
The dodo and Tasmanian tiger are extinct now
( though there is the occasional report of a taz sighting)
But they did ( and maybe still do) exist…..
The coelacanth was thought to be extinct
And guess what
A fisherman pulled one of these extinct creatures from the depths of the ocean
So claims of “extinct” by academia who declare themselves as the arbiter of fact and truth ( and flying in the face of the science they claim to represent are the biggest naysayers and wet blankets going)aren’t always correct and given the volume of alleged sightings, trackways hair and even DNA
“Science” should be leading the charge to do expeditions to find these creatures and study them!!???
And yet they do nothing……
Why!!???
My guess would be REALLY big donations to the schools and sciences from folks like Weyerhaeuser and smith-corona……
In the 1970s a desk sergeant at Maelstrom AFB witnessed a bigfoot type creature, standing approximately 15ft tall. He had 5 other witnesses. It had a domed head, flat nose, canine type fangs. They fired shots too scare it. It had the opposite effect, and charged them! They likened it too the deal from star wars. This happened at a place called Belt Creek Canyon. 20 miles southeast of great falls. There was another report of a creature the same height near Mount rainier. It was in the local paper. The Mazoola or something. Another story came from the Florida keys. This was a sighting of the same family at there farmstead. That story appeared in the local paper. This creature at Belt Creek canyon was totally silent when it was taking huge strides toward the witnesses. They left all there camping gear at the site. The park rangers found it all as they had left it in there panic!

Maybe they just injured one squirrel for one shot, then killed another squirrel for the dead squirrel shot , and filmed the car separately. After that,in the editing room, they just put all shots in the rlght order. Still a great documentary.
