Failure: Phastball Stall in Flight

  • This was a flight a long time (about 10 years) ago. We installed tufts on the wings to see if we can see flow separation (with a tail camera). We did see flow separation in flight.

    Really good video the lift defeated then aileron shows just how many pilots die turning base to final.

    Ooooh, a victim of science ! Great job, you did ! Especially the investigation at model airplane folders are so interesting, because the speed is much lower than at big airplanes and we can clealy seen that this model aircraft works at turbulence flow. Would be interesting to mount such a camera on a park flyer which very often goes at laminiar flow. Shortly before the half spin we here the turbulence at the camera and during recovering we see the flow separation again. Possibly it could have been recovered by less elevator but honestly I don´t believe that. This video is an excellent study !! Thums three times up !

    Altitude is your friend. That’s the main reason we lose so many pilots every year.
