- In this video I show you how to import images into BeadTool4 and use them to develop a shape or design. It is the next in my series on BeadTool, keeping watching for more information.
Great tips as always! Love the click and drag option - I didn't know about that!
Thank you for comments, yes, those are really handy options. The more you learn about any tool the better it gets. Have a wonderful Christmas break and stay safe
Hola Lucy, acabo de llegar a tu canal, muchas gracias por lo que compartes y me gustaria si puedes transferir una foto de una persona o un perrito, para ver los resultados y si nos puedes dar consejos para editarla mejor..Muchas gracias!
Hello, that is a great idea. Creating designs using pictures of people or animals can be challenging. Please keep watching. I will do a video about this in the coming months. Thank you for watching and your suggestion.
Muchas gracias por compartir!
Hi . Thank you so much for such useful tutorial. I do have a question about transferring pictures . Do I need to modify the size of the picture before importing it into the program. I thank you again because so far , you are the best in clarifying the instructions 😍
Hello, thank you for your lovely comments and question. My workflow when importing a photograph is as follows. First choose you palette and stitch pattern in BeadTool. Then if you know roughly how large you want your final beadwork to be, increase or decrease the rows and columns to the size you want in BeadTool. I add one or two beads either way, to work within, which gives me a column and a row overlap all the way around, so slightly bigger than I want. Then when you import your picture all you need to do, is pull on the ‘handles’ of the photograph and increase it or decrease it in size to within the area that you have chosen to work within. Then hit transform.
(If you need a very accurate size of beadwork, then that is another ball game. Everyone’s stitching is different and you would need to make a test piece to see if what you sew matches the size shown on BeadTool. Differences of this nature don’t tend to show up with small numbers of rows and columns, but if you are above about 40-50 of rows or columns, then small differences will begin to add up. If I am doing a large piece and if the accuracy of the size REALLY MATTERS then in that case I would do a test piece with ten rows by ten columns - makes the calculations easier. And then see if this matches up with the prediction of size on BeadTool. If not then there is another tutorial on the channel, which should help you with the calculation and how to put this into the system - with a new palette).
I hope that helps. Lucy
Great!!! Thanks
Hi, I'm glad you like the video, thank you for watching. I will be doing more in the BeadTool series
Hello, is it possible to open two work areas in one window. Because it is necessary to work both in brick weaving and in direct weaving to create one work. These are boho style earrings. Thank you
Hi, I am not aware of the ability to use two work areas in one window in Beadtool. I wonder if there is this ability in other design tools?
I am struggling to add two pictures to a pattern. Do you have a video for that?
That I think is tricky. I have not found a way to add two separate pictures to BeadTool. Since when you add the following images, and click transfer, the beads completely overwrite the first transfer. It is best to have joined the two images together in a photo imaging application and then import that, and at that point you can move and change it as you wish. I hope that helps. Lucy
Hi. I am working on getting a laptop. Not a Mac unfortunately. What software will it NOT work on?
Hello, thanks for your question. I think if you scroll down on this link beadtool.net/, you should find everything that you need to know. I states that it is not compatible with Android or iPad tablets or Chromebook operating systems. thank you for watching.
How do I get beadtool4
Hello, thank you for your question. You can purchase Beadtool at www.beadtool.net. There are other bead design tools out there, so it is worth taking a look at those too. I enjoy using Beadtool, I find it does what I need without being as expensive as some others. You also need to note any compatibility issues on various platforms, and many will only work on laptops and desktop computers. Thank you for watching.
Is this BeadTool 4? I also have a Mac and the website says the software isn't compatible with Apple. Can you tell me how you were able to get it on your computer?
Hi there, thank you for your question. Yes it is BeadTool4. If you go to this link www.beadtool.net/, and scroll almost all the way down, it says it is compatible with Mac from Yosemite to Catalina systems. It also says it does not work on iPad or iPhone. To download you need to go here. www.beadtool.net/download.html I hope that helps. Happy beading.
I've just updated the title to BeadTool4 as well, thank you
It doesn’t work with my iPad or iPhone 😢
@@trollbeadsjewelry Yes, it is a shame, it's a great simple tool, and easy to use. If only it could be on iPad or tablets!
