5 Houseplants I’m Feeling Right Now | Favorite Indoor Plants Spring 2021

- This is my first favorite houseplant video of 2021 and the ones I selected are plants I’m really feeling or vibing with right now. You may notice that some of these houseplants are more on the uncommon types, depending on where you’re located. But I selected these houseplants because they are either teaching me something new when it comes to plant care or they’re reminding me why I enjoy being a plant parent and why I love having these houseplants around.
Some of these houseplants I’ve had for a while like my Thai Constellation Monstera and to see how much they’ve grown when comparing to when I first got them is so rewarding regardless the challenges I faced when caring for it throughout my houseplant journey.
1:12 - Manjula Pothos
5:13 - Thai Constellation Monstera
7:54 - Cebu Blue Pothos
9:41 - Sygonium Mojito
10:48 - Anthurium Vittarifolium

What are the plants you’re vibing with right now? Are they teaching you something new or maybe reminding you why you enjoy having plants in your life?
Love ur channel!!
Iam into monstera adansonii, deliciosa and rhaphidophora tetrasperma. I also love my SOH and SOP!!
A few plants especially right now; cebu blue, manjula, a new blue fern with curly leaves(Phlebodium daviana) verrucosum and my Syngonium collection. 😍🍀
Btw. You can grow propagations really well in vermiculite. 🙈 Maybe something to try out in a side by side experiment with some pothos, as they are fast growers and inexpensive.
Definitely my Nepenthes and Sarracenia, they are really taking off to the point that every single day I notice a difference in their growth. There's nothing like seeing a plant thrive in your care, especially one that you were apprehensive about at first. I actually swore off carnivorous plants after killing a Venus fly trap a few years ago, but eventually I fell in love with this one particular plant at a nursery and decided to give it a go again. So glad I did because they're giving me so much joy.
different varieties of tradescantia!
I can't believe that there is a pothos on my name. My name is Manjula. I am from India and I have never seen this in nurseries nearby. This is in my must buy list now.
There sure is. 😁
Currently Stromanthe Triostars, Tradescantia Nanouks, and Peperomias. Basically, anything that's green and has a stem!
this actually made me giggle 😆
🤣🤣🤣
Bwahaha 🤣 oh Barbara. 🪴
@@jennifer_loves_8766 hHHhhhHHhHhHhhhc),) CD hhhhHhhh
I am a sucker for velvety leaves these days, so I can‘t take my eyes off of my philodendron micans and verrucosum, another favourite is my new alocasia dragon scale, it looks unreal and like it’s straight out of a fantasy world 😃
I need a dragon scale in my life!
Love all those and the dragon scale is one of my favourite Alocasias.
My African violets bring me so much happiness! I think I’m at a good collection and almost done repotting them for this year 😅🪴💜🌿
Nice. I still need to get my first African Violet 😅
Ok, but have you ever tried their delicate, exotic little relative, Stretocarpella, with its magical, nodding little blooms on the ends of thin, dainty stalks? I tried one unsuccessfully years ago, but the internet helps me so much in researching plants and their care and I have big hopes for the one I got recently. I really like African violets but am infatuated with streptocarpella.
Great video! I wasn’t really into house plants 2 or 3 years ago. Someone gave me and my fiancé some old house plants and I took care of them by trimming off dead leaves and using a moisture meter to make sure they had perfect moisture levels. I also used Dyna-Gro plant food to make sure they received all the nutrients they needed. These plants are now huge and thriving. Recovering these plants gave me a deep appreciation of plants and how things work. Now I’m obsessed and my living room is absolutely packed with garden plants and I couldn’t be happier. We were given one Spider plant and now have 22 of them from planting the babies. Cheers.
Plants teach me to be patience, be kind and to be caring, to be experimental, to be mindful.
Yayy your back . It feels like it's been awhile
😁😁😁 I’m baaaaack. It did feel like a a bit, but hope to get more videos out for you guys in the near future. 🪴💜
Thanks for the explanation of the three different pothos. I have them all and my Manjula has put on the most and quickest growth. Pearls and Jade is just putzing along.
Awesome. They’re all amazing. I think I want to collect every variety of Pothos
I have fully been sleeping on pothos. My n'joy and marble queen are my slowest growing plants so ive been so afraid... But THEY ARE SO PRETTY. Those splashes are speaking to me.
I absolutely love the plants with green on green variegation 😍 nice to see something different being talked about than the usual white or yellow
Right now I’m totally feeling my simple a$$ peperomia obtusifolia variegata - been shooting out leaves left right and beyond and I’m so here for it. Love a good camouflage leaf 🥰
Riiight. Love the Peperomia Obtusifolia. Haven’t seen one of those on a while.
I am still KICKING MYSELF for not buying a HUGE, lush, packed full, hanging basket of Cebu Blue that I saw at Walmart last summer. I picked it up, admired it, and just set it back down. I guess it was a lesson in that you don’t NEED every plant out there and moderation is good. (I still wish I had picked it up!) 🙄🙄🙄
Whaaaaaat no way. A full Cebu blue at Walmart. Damn. For sure that you don’t need every plant out there, but that also kind of hurts to not have gotten it. 😅
I'm learning so much from watching your videos. I'm also buying lots of plants. I gotta slow down. Just wanna thank you for what you do.
I love all the lessons. All the plants are beautiful.
BOP. They are absolutely stunning and beautiful plants. I have a reginae for its flowers and next month I will get a nicolai for its foliage.
And my citrus trees. And my monstera... and my begonia maculata...
My plants gives me joy and I learned from them to slow down and enjoy the small things like every single new leaf and the little green lemons.
Ooooh I love BOPs I think they’re one of the most majestic looking plants ever. ☺️
I'm just starting to buy & learn about Plants 🪴 & thanks to your channel I've fallen in love with my 1st Monstera Deliciosa. Next, I want Chain of Hearts & Pathos
I'm loving my calathea zebrina I got it as a rehab and seriously helped me remember why I love plants so much because I was starting to question why I have so many 😬
I’m vibing with my Fishtail Hoya, Rhaphidora Decursvia, and Cebu. I rooted a Monstera Dubia cutting that now has a growth point. So that made me extra happy!
Ahh nice. Fishtail Hoya is on my wish list. 🤞🏼 always happy to see new growth.
Love the green on green syngonium !!! 😁
Just repotted my manjula pathos after giving the poor baby root rot over the winter. She’s finally starting to regrow now. Such a beautiful plant! I’m really into the Scindapsus Exotica right now. Mine has been growing hand sized leaves and I’m loving it. With summer here in Michigan I can’t wait to see what she does!
Nice to hear your a Manjula is finally showing new growth. Agree on the exotica I think it’s one of most beautiful Scindapsus out there. Live their giant leaves
👁️ Vittarifolium is officially added to my Wishlist. 👛💣💚
Your Thai constellation is gorgeous even without the fenestrations. It’s beautiful.
Thank you. I thought so too. No split leaves or fenestration but still looks beautiful ☺️
This has come just at the right time for me as I have a Manjula cutting on its way. I rotted my first one, so I might try your tip with perlite. Thank you
Plants and cuttings can still rot in perlite. Key is to make sure you have a nice healthy plant to start with. 😁
Always learn something new from your videos. I was wondering whether I should do something different with my Manjula but now I know it’s a slow grower so I shall be patient instead. Would also be great if you could come up with a video on how to use sphagnum moss and perlite…for propagating and such. I only learnt about these from your videos. Thanks again !
I'm obsessed with my colocasia mojito and my variegated peace lily right now
I bought a tiny little streptocarpella, a delicate little thing with tiny, magical lavender blooms maybe early last week. It is in the same fuzzy leafed family as African violets more exotic. I can’t stop staring at it. But I just moved it from its 2 inch pot to a slightly larger ceramic pot today and found an aphid! Yikes! I killed the damn thing and examined it closely in the sun but saw no more evil on it. Will watch even more closely now.
I am also enthralled with the little aglaonema (Chinese evergreen, but it isn’t green) called I think Siam Pink. My sweet sister bought a pot that had 3 and dug up and gave me one unprompted. Just a beautiful little thing.
Currently vibing on my epipremnum pinnatum albo variegata, philodendron florida beauty and my syngonium mojito. They're def easy to grow and care. BTW, I loooooooooove your Thai Cons!
Whoa, those are some beautiful plants and definitely would be vibing with them too 😁
I've really digging my cacti with all the new growth in spring (currently in Orlando florida)
Wow the manjula is like pothos meets ficus tineke! 😍
Oooh, I never saw it like that. But I can see why, it does look like it. 😁
Great life lessons learned from your plants. Thank you
i’m propagating zz cuttings for the first time and oh boy, i was reminded to be patient! it took months for these cuttings to start showing roots
Ah yes, those require a lot of patience 😅
I'm so jealous of your cebu , it's gorgeous!
Thank you 😊
I recently discovered that I could take cuttings from my failing ficus and propogate them in water! I was really happy that I didn't have to lose the entire plant, because I'd had it for almost 6 years. The reason it was dying was due to a houseguest who altered the conditions in the room where the plant was. They don't like changes in their environment. Lesson learned.
Ah yes a great way to save a dying plant is to cut and propagate. Especially if you’ve had a plant for a very long time. Glad you manage to take a cutting from it. ☺️
Beautiful plants. I always wanted the plant string of turtles was so worried until I was your video on string of turtles thank you. Oh and got one and so far doing great❤❤
I love using perilite for propagating Thanksgiving/Christmas/Easter cactus. Best method with them.
Awesome. Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
My baby rubber plant was one of my first plants. I love that little guy so much. His name is Albert and whenever I turn my head he's always putting out a new beautiful shiny leaf!
Love rubber plants. They’re great plants for beginners and good one being your first one.
@@CrazyPlantGuy I feel like he's taught me unrealistic beauty standards because his leaves are always perfect 😭 he treats me well when all of my other plants are scheming against me.
Currently loving my...hoyas, peperomia, rubber trees, monsteras, diffenbachia... Fiddle Leaf is 80% to top of window, need to either trim it or relocate soon!
Very enjoyable video! Just received a surprise birthday gift from my husband, a cebu blue cutting . I can’t wait for it to look like yours. What am I learning? I have a plant I was sure was dead and it just shot up new growth sprouts last week! I am shocked and amazed that it came back. Apparently he is more resilient than I could ever have imagined! 😊🪴🥰
Congrats on your Cebu Blue. Great birthday gift. I always say, until the roots are dead, this plant ain’t dead. I don’t care if he bald and got no leaves 😆
I am loving how myMonterra Deliciosa it’s growing now
Those are all very nice. Love them all.
I've been on the hunt for a cebu blue cutting for months but they always get bought up right away! I've finally managed to snag a cutting today. Now the journey to a full pot begins.
Yay. Congrats. In no time your single cutting will be a full potted plant 😁
I love Cebu Blue one of my favorites.
Always love your videos! My peperomias have been teaching me a lot lately...In good and bad ways. Struggling to find a good environment for my watermelon peperomia, and I think the soil may be calcium deficient! But sometimes it's the battles that teach the most.
Thank you. Love Peperomias, also struggled with the watermelon tho. 😅 I think it didn’t like my inconsistency when it came to caring for it.
@@CrazyPlantGuy Same! Everyone always says terracotta for peperomias as well...but I think my inconsistent watering makes terracotta terrible because it dries out so fast. x.x
Beautiful plants! 😍
I love the Manjula pothos💚🙃
hey Christian love ur plants
I have learned that plants can be forgiving if you're patient. Plants can come back from the smallest cutting. I had a bad year in 2020 and lost half of my collection due to simple neglect and spider mites. (PLEASE inspect plants from big box stores. x_x) Some of the cuttings have thrived enough to be potted already. I absolutely love that Pothos! I am on the look out for N'Joy myself. I am in love with the colors. I am trying to branch out in to plants with more color this year! N'Joy and Philodendron Prince of Orange are on my wish list!
Yes good lesson. They’re definitely forgiving and can come back to its glory even if they’ve been attacked by pest. Also am on the lookout for the N’Joy 😁
My top 5 fqv plants right now are my Philodendron Brazil(the different new leaves that are coming out are so nice) String of hearts(its growing like crazy) Orange bird of Paradise (finally giving me a new leaf after i cut her way back) Monstera Peru(love the leaves so much) and Micans(I just got it and its quite leggy so im going to be propagating in water and adding to top to hopefully make it more full)
Hi Christian! I love the Manjula, they’re so regal. I’m propagating them also. I have a pot that has been sitting and not producing so much leaves, but when I put it in a pole, it has been producing leaves non stop. The Thai Cons is part of my wish list.
Ooh thanks for that suggestion on the Manjula. I do think they prefer to climb up on a pole.
@@CrazyPlantGuy yes test 1 of them on a pole anyways, we like to experiment. I’d actually test one pot on perlite as you did.
Hi Christian, Here are my top 5 for right now (it can change in a blink of the eye).
1)Asian philodendron epipremnum pinnatum cebu blue
2)Alocasia "Calidora" persian palm
3)Basjoo banana (yes, indoors)
4)Philodendron Zanadu
5)Swiss cheese monstera
Have a blessed week! Take care 🌸
Those are great 5 faves. Thanks for sharing ☺️
I just love my easy growers, Monstera deliciosa, pothos (marble, golden), heart leaf philodendron (and a few other philodendrons). Funny, I did just order a Manjula last weekend from a local nursery, it will arrive on Monday...I’m a bit nervous now! haha
Just love ur videos .. learn a ton of helpful stuff
Awesome, im rooting some more cuttings from my mother pothos, I didn't know perlite would work. Thanks for the tip
Yeah perlite is another great medium to propagate plants
Like always GREAT TASTE DUDE!!!!!
Thanks Martha. Good to see you again in the comment section 😁
We missed you!!!!!!!🙌🏾
I’ve been here. 😁 I feel like a lot of you have not been seeing my videos lately?!
Love the beard! Your Thai Constelations look sooo healthy!
Corbin
Thank you for the perlite advice because my Manila was acting weird and not growing as well. So I will try the perlite.
I just got an anthurium pallidiflorum (pendant, just like your vittarifolium) and love it!
Awesome. That’s a great anthurium too.
Cebu blu it's such a prolific grower, I think they do better when you propagate from sphagnum moss to dirt because I got lots of it and every time I do water propagation to dirt, the roots get rotten. My best advice it's to not let the roots turn into water roots for too long because they dont transition well from water to dirt.
Ah yes great advice and tips. I’m also propagated a few of the cutting sun prop box with sphagnum moss and they did great.
I lucked out on the cebu. A lady in our neighborhood had a big one that she had to clip and sold cuttings. A few months later she clipped it again so I got another piece. I'm up to 4 pieces in the pot and two propagating in water.
That’s awesome. They’re great plants to get even a tiny cutting can grow pretty quickly to a full potted plant.
Congrats on your Cebu blue.
Great video!!
Great syngonium collection!!!
Nice sofa 😍
Nice plants!
Philodendron brazil and heartleaf gaves me so much leaves, while scindapsus jade satin and silver lady was so slow
Fascinating information 🌿🌻🌷🌿
Manjula, P&J, and M.Qu look to similar. I have a snow queen(very white M.Qu) and P&J and more than a few of the leaves look identical, but they can be distinguished between. All the Manjula I've seen looks exactly like my P&J.
Recently got an emerald pothos - you need one in your collection too!!!
Oooh yes, must add to the collection
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰Man the Beard 🧔game tho. Christian do a before Quarantine the middle and now lol 🥰❤️❤️
Haha thanks. I might pull some old pics when I shaved just before movember to now. 😁
Wow my favorite 😍 plant. Thanks 😊
Love the perlite to root........💖💓❤️
My plants are starting to put out new leaves after 6 months of nordic winter! Every plant becomes my favorite when I actually take the time to observe and be with it for a moment.
Btw your plants are looking gorgeous! I would expect nothing less considering your bright apartment, Mr lucky plant guy;)
Riiight...even if the growth is subtle, still very exciting to see. 😁
Peperomias is my to go plant at the moment. I just got a Watermelon Peperomia. 😍😍😍😍😍
Love a Peperomias. They’re so underrated
I'm still on the hunt for a cebu blue.. they're so pretty D:
They definitely are. Can’t get over how full mine looks off that one vine in 10 months. 🤩
I saw I cebu blue at Walmart yesterday... they had quite a few uncommon plants I was very surprised... I might go back tomorrow and pick up a few if any are left
@@jennifer_loves_8766 oh what?! gotta grab them while they're still around!
I got a huge Cebu blue of Planterina it was pricey but it's a nice plant.
@@jennifer_loves_8766 Where? What city?
Cebu blue is at the top of my current wishlist. I'm totally vibing with Philiodendron right now. I decided I need all the Philo 😅 seriously though I think most of my wishlist is Philo's
Lots of great Philodendrons. Really love the velvety ones 😁
@@CrazyPlantGuy velvety plants are always fun if you're a sensory person like me 👍
great idea using perlite as I can't find sphagnum moss here.
I love the Thai constellation, it is so beautiful. Serious plant envy, I wish I could find it around 40$ lol. Got my Snowqueen pothos to fill the void.
Oooh a snow queen Pothos is so beautiful tho. On my list. 🤞🏼
I found 2 at my favorite grocery store, 3' pot for 4.99$ lol got one for my mom and me.
Manjula pothos and Cebu blue pothos are on my wishlist. I have not been able to find those yet.
Loving all of my syngoniums right now. They’re so beautiful and forgiving! I’m in outdoor gardening mode which means I’m less likely to overwater my houseplants, so most of them are doing well... 🤫
You right, Syngoniums are forgiving. Love them. Can’t wait till it warms up here to also do some balcony plant work 😁
Golden, Manjula and Marble Queen Pothos and S. Sensation for me
$40? My heart hurts as I purchased one for $200 that size a few weeks ago. No regrets though, since it's literally the cutest thing in this world and I have been wanting one for sooooo long. 😆
Yeah. I sometimes wish’s I bought like 10 back then .lol But like you said, no regrets. Also fun watching it grow from a cute little plant into one day a beautiful massive monstera
Christian! That anterior is screaming for a funky head planter😅🤪💚🌱. I love syngoniums, but they always get spider mites in my care. The only plant in my collection that gets them so far🤞🙏. So, alas I stopped purchasing them.
Love this vid
1. Thai Constellation
2. Pink Princess
3. Hoya Vitellinoides
4. Philodendron Mamei
5. Hoya Callistophylla
6. All Snake Plants
I suck at taking care of hoyas for some reason, but I love them regardless. 💀🤣 I have actually started really getting into outdoor plants recently. The craze never ends.
My Hoyas grow faster outside on my patio, let dry out , then water, chunky mix also.🤗💖🌱I live in Southern California 🏄♂️🌊🌞🏖
I find Hoyas are one of the easier plants they do better by allowing the potting mix to dry out before watering. Treat them almost like a succulent .
My Beefsteak begonia, my huge Birkin, Hoya Australis Lisa, Hoya Publicalyx red button, Begonia tiger kitten🌱💖🌱💖and Begonia Conchifolia, Red ruby 💖💖💖
I love it :) thanks for sharing :)
My top 5 currently in no order are global green pothos, manjula pothos, Thai constellation, Hoya compacta and silver sword philodendron
Oooh a global green Pothos. I just recently heard of this one. Adding it to the list. 😁
Holy moly... I think your Cebu has surpassed mineeeeeeeeeeeee😋
Riiiiight. I’m so blown away when I look back at pics of that single vine you gave me. 😁
I bought manjula cuttings and I rooted them successfully in a moss propagation box.
Awesome. I think I’m gonna try again, maybe to a experiment to see which will root better sphagnum vs. Perlite. Hmm 🤔
I liked this intro
I have been really enjoying my simple plants lately. I have a starfish sanseveria, my zz, And my Dracaenas. They are so stress free and they have my full appreciation right now.
Ooooh starfish Sansevieria. Love those, I got a tiny baby one 😁
Your very 😎 cool. Like your ☘️ plant setup. Keep educating. Maria Montreal Canada
Very informative i will buy more plants
Can you do a video on cloning paste? You mention it in some videos but never have talked about it and there's not a ton of information out there about it. Would love to see some progress comparisons esp on aroids.
I have two manjulas and they grow at different rates despite being in the same conditions. I guess each plant have different attitudes too lol
Haha, they sure do. 😂
Oh thats my wish list since I started collecting my plants. Where did you buy how O wish I can buy even online!
Favourite plants atm:
Begonia Reigier with its beautiful vibrant orange blooms
Polka-dot Begonia Coccinea which is big enough now not to wither away and die off suddenly😂
Japanese Aralia with its many new and shiny leaves
Rex Begonia Vine which has lots of new tendrils and leaves forming
Philodendron Birkin with its white pinstripe leaves
Oooh these Begonias sounds cool. I’m gonna have to look into them. 😋
Love from Kerala 😍
Hypoestes, pilea, and aloe!
$40 Thai Constellation 😭 we need “normality” again
Riiiigjy. Blows my mind how much they’ve gone up in a short time. 😅
I financed a cutting the other day 🤫🤫🤫
I think Costa is set to roll out the Thai's next year. They had planned for this yr but they confirmed on Insta it will be 2022
I am crazy about plants too 😆😂😆
Excellent advice. I will try perlite propagation
