- This video is about me sharing my updated opinion on the rise of Corrin. I explain why I believe she is a top tier in today's meta. This could very well change in the years to come; I am not saying Corrin will forever be the best.

My hot take: it's crazy that people consider this character boring. Maybe it's because I'm boring, but fundamentals are sick, having to have raw spacing and mix-up skills along with that slight bit of character specific knowledge (pin), is a good combination. Thinking a bit though, they do what lucina does in neutral, what falcon does during strings (w/out killing though, so not hype), and what pyra does at kill percent. Oops, I think I get it now.
yea i dont get it either. like other swordies literally just swing a sword, thats boring, she has pin, dragon wing stuff, like she has her own unique style thats more than man/woman with sword.

I think the main thing people are realizing is explosivity isn't as good as consistency. Sure, Corrin doesn't have that amazing dair that pyra has. Corrin doesn't have the insane kill potential of double edge dance, and doesn't have the cheese of cloud limit, but being consistent, killing relatively early at 80%, and having a decent recovery is doing wonders for this character.
Corrin has always been a solid character imo she excels at everything than most other sword characters in this game that’s why players like Sparg0 have been doing well with her
Imagine if Corrin still had her Smash 4 counter in this game. That thing KOed at 0%.

They brought Corrin over to Ultimate with little to no changes to speed and frame data. Oh hey they're still super solid who would have thought!
In terms of consistency Corrin is definitely the best Swordie right now. (I appreciate the Mythra's Pyra edit that got me good😂)

I found discussion regarding Corrin tier placements is some of the most brainrot I've ever seen. I found People almost always move the goal post and what is considered Top Tier when talking about wether or not Corrin is a top tier. Just wanna say. Have fun watching multiple Corrin in Top 8. It will happen a lot!!!!!
I believe Corrin is really good, and at least top 15, maybe even top 10, but I might have bias as a Corrin main
Shadic 3 stocking Yaura isn't a good argument for Corrin being the best swordie. If you actually watched the set Shadic just downloaded and adapted extremely well to how Yaura was playing his neutral and most importantly his disadvantage.
You missed the whole point lol. I said what I said to show that even Corrin's supposedly worst match-up is extremely doable.

She has been getting top level results for 2 years straight and it's only getting better.
I was always allowed to have this opinion. If you watched until the end, I said that I originally believed Corrin was a lower high tier up until now.

I don't think this is a hot take. Corrin may not be as fast as the others, but she's got longer range, great juggles and she's a whiff-punisher.
Consistent recovery is slept on in ultimate.
Pythra and Lucina top 2 swordies. Nothing will change my mind on that.

this is honestly just a bad case of recency bias. Proto stops competing for a bit then suddenly people forget how better lucina is compared to corrin
Even if he comes back I don't think that will prove much. It'll just show he is good. Remember that he normally has to whip out the Min Min about half the time.
And one Lucina main compared to potentially 5 Corrins making great results does not help the case much. Mr. E and Proto both would have to pop off for a while for anyone to believe that.
And I said the Corrin was the best swordie in this recent time. It could very well change.
My hot take is that mario is the second best character in the game (steve is broken bs)
sonic is basically unarguably top 2 at this point and gnw is just better mario

The only thing age horribly in this video is that SHADIC being the 2nd best Corrin main!!! I think even during Neo rise i still believe SHADIC is the best Corrin!!!

Imo cloud is top 5 and the best sword character in the game but corrin is easily top 2 swordie and a top 10 character

@@ian5110 I actually find I kill easier with Corrin than Ike online, but maybe that’s because I don’t know everything with Ike, I know like 3 of his 2-part combos
And I think Corrin’s up air actually just straight up kills earlier
@toadboy4 kill power is ikes literal mo. Overall hes a ton more explosive than corrin and has more killing options that require a lot less accuracy.
@@ian5110 I guess that is true, maybe I over exaggerated when I said Ike, but Corrin does have great kill potential, I wish Ike was just at least a bit better, maybe had like 2 other moves that were safe & fast enough he could use, but he doesn’t have problem killing once the opponent is at that high percent
@toadboy4 i agree corrin does have good potential. Its possible to have a bias for our own mains lol. 🤜🤛 but yeah ive run into some very good ikes. Usually very fast, and the thing with him is his moves are strong be default, and many of them chain together without any end lag. Online ikes do this all the time, his aerials are very safe and spammable and his side b and up b are very disrputive. Up b out of shield and then side b chaining with jab and tilts with no endlag. Side b also has great mix ups and can be hard to react to with wifi delay

In my eyes, Corrin is the sixth best conventional (as in not Mii Swordfighter for example) swordy, not the absolute best. I see Shulk as an upper top tier, the Aegis, Cloud and Roy as top tiers, and Lucina as a lower top tier.
I think Corrin is an upper high tier. Her low mobility is still a thing, and it's mostly by exploiting it that she can be beaten. Solid, sure ; broken like Steve, though ? Definitely not.
For me, Corrin is both the new Byleth and the new Lucina. Of course, she has things they don't have like her good combo game and her relative unpredictability, but like Byleth, Corrin has low mobility (although she also has good range to somewhat make up for it) ; and like Lucina, she has good consistency and frame data, she loses few matchups and she's easy to use (this along with her decent cheese partially explains why it's not rare to see her at the top, just like it wasn't rare to see Lucina there).
Also, something Corrin shares with both Byleth and Lucina is a good recovery, which helps her a lot to stay good. And like it used to be the case with both Byleth and Lucina, as of now, she hasn't been figured out yet too. Lastly, top Corrin players besides Ly are among the best players in the world, and two of them (Neo and SHADIC) are dedicated mains who probably won't drop her. Whether Corrin stays relevant in the meta or not will depend on them and their opponents.
Shulk has done nothing for the lifetime of the game...
And Corrin will not "be figured out" that hard. People said the same thing for characters like Cloud and he's still kicking it in multiple scenes. Cloud has been at the top for years. I doubt Corrin will drop that hard even if people get better at the match-up. Corrin players can adapt too, dude.

@@Spyder-MarthKome, the best Shulk player in the world, has defeated Maister, Marss, Ken, ProtoBanham, Shuton, Tea and Zackray. Other top Shulk players did beat the likes of Big D, Chag, Dabuz and Jakal. That's not " nothing ".
Shulk is broken, he's just very hard to play, so much so that no one can (and / or want to) show his true viability. Just look up his toolkit and / or find a good Shulk player who'll beat you to the point you'll feel helpless even with Marth (and especially with Corrin, honestly), maybe watch some godlike Shulk videos or something ; you might change your mind on this character.
To be fair, Cloud is easily top 15, but he's also carried by Sparg0. Sure, he finds success at the top of multiple scenes... again, thanks to Sparg0. He's the one most players can't figure out, not his main. All it takes is one player to demonstrate the strength of a character.
As for Corrin, I'm not a seer. Only time will tell me if people will figure her out hard or not. With Sparg0 using her and Neo and SHADIC rising lately, it's understandable that for now, folks can't see Corrin fall off. After all, recency bias has been a thing in this community for years. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if she eventually did fell off (or not). Happened to plenty of good characters already.
@@ian5110" Decent cheese " as in okayish kill power. Corrin can end stocks at around 60% to 90 % with Dragon Lunge, charged Dragon Fang Shot and Dragon Fang Wings, for example. It's not free, though. She's not completely cheesy like say, a touch of death character such as Kazuya.
@Cannelle-bo3nx I mean its not exactly cheese if i have to snipe you with a slow moving, slow start up projectile in the corner as a moving target (dfs). Getting chomp is very inconsistent and is risky as hell against good players. Pin doesnt kill that early and can quite often fail all together even at ridiculously high percent if you dont place the kick right. Its also pretty simple to DI. Dragon ascent is highly gimpable, highly punishable and impractical as a killing option without a hard read. Among a lot of the goofy bs in this game, to call her cheese is eh. For me, cheese is low risk, high reward bs. No work, no real accuracy required, janky hitbox, etc which theres tons of in this game.
