I have gone through hell with burning feet and bunions. I don’t even notice I have shoes on and don’t rush to take them off when I get home. The enjoyment is worth every penny.

Hi, I have narrow feet but have issues with the 3rd and 4th toes pushed up against the sides of my shoes. The bony widest portion on the inside of my feet are 2cm closer to the big toe than the bony widest portion of the outside of my feet (ie. closer to the heel). When measuring the width going directly across each bony portion, its around 100mm, but when drawing parallel lines the spacing is 110mm. So not sure I should get a reg or wide fit. I did try a half size larger (44) in a 241W and the toe box was not big enough for the 3rd/4th toes. I'm closer to a 43.5 and wondering if I should get a reg or wide fit. If you tried the regular, can you summarize the differences with a wide? If wide in the toe box primarily that would work for me but if wider with more volume throughout the shoe, my feet might be swimming in a 242W. thanks

Great review! I also updated to these from cx241 wides. They were really good, but still a bit too narrow around the toebox. I was in a lot of pain on a long and intense ride. With these my shoe journey is complete!

Yes! Best shoes I’ve ever had and will be staying at lake. 👍

Now using the Lake size chart wearing socks and adding 5mm as they say to do my size comes out to 44.5 in a wide.A lake sales rep told me to size up to a 45 wide. Can I ask what you did for size??

recently tried these shoes and they felt more comfortable than my daily rubber shoes that were already comfortable, if they had a version of these shoes made for walking i wouldn't mind wearing them as my casual daily shoes, they are that comfortable. i have a black one available here, i wish i got white but the comfort is what matters the most. cant wait to test mine on 200km rides.

Hello , thx for the review. Considering these. What is the exact length and width of your feet ?

I ride bont wide and dbl wide, but have been looking at the new 242s because they've made the toebox more roomy.
How do you feel they compare as a performance shoe? The bonts are super solid and rigid, good for feeling like you get good power transer. When I tried the CX241 model they didn't feel so performance orientated. I'm hoping that the mouldable heel as help turn the 242 into a performance shoe with the foot really secure.
Really intersted to hear your comments because buying Bont dble wide is an extremely expensive habit.

      Hi!
I like them a lot! Instantly more comfortable for me over the bont.
The bont was super stiff like you say, I don’t know if it’s as stiff but I’ve not had that many shoes to compare. I’m gonna say it’s not but it’s way more comfortable and It feels softer but I’m not sure if that’s because my foot can move now rather than the restriction I had with my bonts.
Lake says this about the cx 242 last.
With a profile specifically designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure, our Competition last features a more curved profile than the Sport last. The main differences include increased toe pitch & heel lift, a tighter heel & a slightly wider ball girth to allow the foot to expand under high pedaling pressures. 👍
