- I can’t have a 637hp all-electric Audi RS e-tron GT for a daily driver and NOT find out if it can slide, right?? Let’s find out if the brand new e-tron GT can handle some of the things that I love to do most in cars: donuts, figure 8s and BIG slides! It wears the RS badge for a reason, so it’s safe to say I had a solid day of tire slaying. EV power is no joke, the e-tron is not nice to tires which is just another reason why I love it. Enjoy episode 3 of 6 dedicated to my Audi RS e-tron GT daily driver project!

Interesting how the wheel speed is untethered due to the lack of a gearbox. I wonder if adding a switch to limit maximum wheel speed would help modulate drifts?
Heh I don't think Audi is going to add a drift mode/switch :D It's kind of amazing seeing an electric car do this in the first place - From watching The Straight Pipes, they try to get ev's sideways any amount, and it's really hard always. But Ken Block of course makes it look easy on this car!
I think adding sound connected to the wheelspeed will give more feedback for ken to adjust the drift, at the moment it's all more or less silent.
Given its all electronics it should just be a matter of some hacking of the onboard computer and giving it an emulated sequential "gearbox"!
Audi needs to make a Hoonigan mode for Ken's cars

There's a porsche version of this car which is essentially the same car and that's a wagon, i think it's called the cross turismo

@@Juuul89 The Cross Turismo has those ugly black plastic things around the wheels. They've recently also brought out the Sport Turismo, which is what the Cross Turismo should've been.

I have to say, front headlights I love. A set of widebody fenders or aero extensions around them fender front/rear would be really nice. Loving the ride.
A variable throttle setup in a few 1/4 setups min/max is a bit tough. Need some micro. You had a good slide going though, even with the stability/braking assist stopping you from Hoon bliss. Got to get into that pc of that thing and see what it is doing in there. Devs can get you a hoon-controller in there or something. Like paddle shifters but for hoon-control.

We had a Paino truck, 48ft Freightliner. Turbo diesel Cummins, 6 speed.
Nothing beat sliding that giant thing around when it was empty 😅🤣
I watched a UPS driver drift the big brown truck, granted it was in snow, but still. He was doing his morning drop off route, so he was still loaded with packages lol!

Be nice to know how the battery pack stood up to this, how many hours did it last, what was the drain and percentage used. No information to suggest was all of this on 1 charge or multiple
I think there might be a big market for aftermarket control boxes that let you manipulate maximum wheel speed and throttle curve maybe. And since some new cars brake by wire - couldnt you just put an electric button that just locks up the rear brakes?

Did Audi program a dyno mode or a full off on the stability systems for you to play around? It looked like the front tires a couple times were trying to correct the car on the high speed slides at the end. In the audio you could hear a rhythm of speeding up and slowing down doing the figure 8 work. I don't know if that was driver input or the car intervening.... It would be very cool to see you get out in a RS6 or some other audi products and slay them out there also if Audi will provide the opportunity. Love the content!
I'll be honest, i am waiting a signature car from Ken like Ford Focus RS. Electric Audi with a Drift Mode can be COOL AF 🔥 !
I think you already know, but if you hold the traction control button for 3-5 second the car will turn off all the assistance (the dynamic mode isn’t doing that). It will make it easier to drift.
Nice seeing Ken making it look more difficult than usual. Normally he’s making all us regular folks look like newbs and here he’s just like us 🙌

Agreed. I'm not too keen on VW Group and others going the EV route but seriously, seeing the RS e-Tron GT in person was just mind-blowing with overall performance. Much more than my buddy's NA2 NSX, my B9 RS5 Sportback, as well as my buddy's 991 GT3 when we encountered it on the highway. Like I seriously underestimated the living hell out of both the RS e-Tron GT and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. Friggin' Ghosts
i would love to see you Hoon the new Audi RS3 with it´s Drift Mode. And yeah, a Handbrake would make it much easier.

How long do you usually need with a car before you feel comfortable with how the car will react to your inputs?
Do you pick your own tire tread and compound?
I wonder if Audi Sport could customize some firmware to adjust torque bias, throttle maps, ESC and whatnot. I mean, I'm sure they could, but...would they, even for KB?

It seems like a big part of drifting is being able to hear the revs of the engine. This must be difficult.

Getting the hang of the Audi is a little different then gas cars but your getting the hang off it I wanna tell you what a wonderful thing to take that young man on a ride on the Audi was a amazing thing the smile on his face was priceless I hope you keep doing things like that when you can it can really change the life of a person.

It's probably why evertime you touch the brake it cuts the power completely, it's common with the regen braking system
