We definitely need to be suspicious of Crimson Desert, but even with its inevitable issues, they make some fantastic feeling games. Black Desert wasnât just about flashy combat, it had some of the greatest MMO game systems since RuneScape, with really complex trading, crafting, house building, farming, hunting and horse taming. I believe they can pull this off.

Background on this game: started development 2018 assuming not including pre production. It originally planned on being an mmo but around 2019/2020 they changed into a single player game. They gave us yearly updates up until late 2020 in which they showed tons of improvements from the original trailer. They have gone in-depth into their engine that they are building for this game and it sounds like the next coming of rockstars engine. But the game performance is still bad despite waiting 3 years for another reveal. 2020 trailer was 15-30fps. But their engine is great assuming they can improve graphics a bit more and performance.

Honestly if you've ever played Black Desert you'll have no problem believing they can pull this off.
That game is an MMO and in a category of its own mechanically and graphically, aside from the horrible pay model.
If they dedicated their experience and resources to single player only after seeing what they've pulled off in an MMO, this is no problem for them.
they basically have the blueprint in Black Desert Online and its all its mechanics, this is more possible in a singeplayer

It's always a good idea to approach game trailers with a dose of skepticism, but this is the studio that made Black Desert 7 years ago, an MMO with top tier graphics, combat and profession systems. Considering they have a new engine, and that Crimson Desert is a singler player game (much less restrictive to develop and balance), I'm inclined to believe what we see here is very plausible. If I were to guess, I think the backstory/main quest will probably be the weakest point.
It is like the devs pulled out every open-world mechanic that one could ask for and slapped it into one game.
Traversal - check
badass combat - check
destructible environment - check
puzzles - check
While these look good, haphazard implementation of them can create an unbalanced gameplay. I mean, why would I waste my time on horses if I could just glide. Now if they were doing something like Arkham knight where you launch out of your Bat mobile, that would be understandable.
Horses for traversing land, glide for gliding. How would you traverse land by gliding? Understandable if gliding is the same as flying.
You probably canât glide unless you are at a ledge and it probably doesnât get unlocked until you have progressed through the game a bit
Your missing one thing.. it's actually a FUN GAME

I'm super hyped for it, If it has everything they showed here in it, alongside a vibrant open world with 100+ hours of gameplay, I'm gonna buy it immediately.
Iâm excited to see pearl abyss take on a single player game. I pretty sure the gameplay will be great but not sure about the story yet
@@Fumble469 as long as the gameplay is fun and there are tons of stuff to find and explore(100hr+), then Iâm fine with mediocre storylines, for example a lot of people hated Valhalla cuz it was bloated and itâs story was meh, but I personally enjoyed it and went to every point of interest on every map and 100% the game.
@@TheretiredgodofwarIt sounds like you just wanna turn your brain off when gaming and mindlessly run around a barren open world ticking off POIs on the map. Which is fine, but you should also understand that that is the definition of a Ubisoft-style game, and most gamers nowadays hate it because it has no substance. Iâd rather have Ghost of Tsushima over any of the modern AC games any day. It might not have 100 hours of content, but the content it does have is hand crafted and had love and care put into it, as opposed to the style of game you seem to prefer, which are usually the exact opposite
@@littleoldmanboy Well obviously when I'm playing videogames I'd like to turn my brain off and relax, not to do work in my videogame like Elden ring, also you do realize without Ubisoft we would lose so many Open-world games, they are one of the few companies out there still focused on vast open-world story telling, and yes a lot of their POI's get repetitive after a while but you can choose not to do them.
For someone like me who likes to be able to enjoy a game's world after the main mission is done, they're the best at that. linear games I have to just delete them after they're done in like 2 days, hardly worth my money.
Also Ghost of Tsushima is my second favorite game of all time, right after Witcher 3, and I have played it over 300 hours, I also only have one usbisoft game in my top 10 and it's black-flag, so I don't rate them that high, either I just enjoy massive open-worlds and they're one of the few still doing that.

My main concern with this game would be âwide as an ocean, shallow as a pondâ cause thereâs just so much going on. If it works it could be a great game tho.

Equestrian/show jumper here, just want to point out that the horse movement is pretty realistic even the character riding (you can clearly see it doing rising trot in one of the shots) although the reigns are way too loose and the feet aren't in the stirrups but I'm just being a nitpicking dick now, looks great for a game, nice animations.
I watching the horse move as well and thought it looked better than any game iâve seen.

I'll be honest as someone who has over 1000 hours in black desert (mostly afk) these devs have to prove themselves ..there games look great in trailers but are often underwhelming..
Also all there trailers are on the most powerful PCs money can buy ,so graphics will be scaled back
And there is cinematics with QTE
The Blackspace Engine is looking very powerful...

I am just waiting on the release. My whole family plays Black Desert Online together, so we are all just waiting for this game. I was estimating about 2028 to smooth out the game, and that is due to the story implementation(My only sceptical point). As they have world-building down. BTW I do that with my horse all the time in BDO. Courser Horse can do some cool stuff.

honestly i do understand the skepticism because it an mmo studio's first venture into what looks like a single player action game but the scope is not that insane for our current year.
A lot of the mechanics look pretty simple at least with how they are presented right now such as climbing on the house with clearly laid out handholds, grabbing an animal, and what i assume is just a flashy form of gliding since we don't see freely controlled height.
This doesn't mean it will turn out amazing bdo itself is quite janky even after all this time.
i do find it funny how people are naming gameplay elements other games have and listing them though, i hope the trend continues so i can see a giant list for whenever ac red comes out.

I have hope because it is not made by Ubisoft. This is also PAâs first time trying to just focus on singleplayer open world so it seems like they are taking everything they learned from black desert online and saying but what if we just made it more like Rdr2 and zelda and witcher 3. Maybe Korean standards can put western game studios in their place?
I can say that this game is really possible, why? Well the company that made this game already made a banger mmo game called Black Dessert Online (BDO) the graphics was just awesome a shit ton of mechanics kinda complicated but really fun to explore it, also in BDO theres also a flying horse the game also offers a satisfying GvG n ZvZ contents naval warefare and many kind of stuffs overall its just a banger so I can say Crimson Dessert Trailer seems pretty plausible to me since they have proved their game quality

I played some decent amount of Black Desert and the way the story is structured is kinda meh.. but it's an MMO and this one is a single player so they might polish the questing structure.. so yeah, the combat gameplay is nothing to worry about.. it's how will it play a single player RPG.

I dont know if it is to good to be true. Everything in here looks in engine and genuine things you can do. Black dessert also had a lot of things to do besides questing, a lot life skills. I just hope this will have a good immersive voice acted story and quests like the Witcher. And not like black dessert where it is all text and you skip over everything.
Even if it was just text it still a purchase for me when I get to watch a review

this game looks like assassin's creed, witcher 3, metal gear solid, monster hunter, red dead redemption and legend of zelda at the same time. Maybe a little too much, but we'll see when it comes out.

Pearl abyss can do 8t if they have enough time. Personally i want pearl abyss to team up with rockstar and make a gta game. Preferably san Andreas two because i think pearl abyss would truly 7se everything in the original game and make it better on the newest engine.

I once thought horizon zero dawn look to good to be true, and it exceeded my expectations 10x over.
You know, that âtgtbtâ feeling. I get that but i dont feel that for this only because of their success in the past. Sure, it probably still needs work and if anything, it feels like its too much stuff presented. But i feel like it all works.

Mobile games make money. Like luke said, mobile game companies will have a ton of money to make ambitious games. That being said games from Asia tend to have ridiculous monetization.
Still have no idea what im watching lol. I like the mechanics, but am i seeing a single player survival game? A silent protagonist with no dialogue options rpg? A main character and story driven game? An open world sandbox? Am i missing soemthing? Im not saying it looks bad, but like i havent seen a thjng about the dialogue or story at all
well from their previous trailer you're with a group of mercenaries trying to survive a war torn world. The choices you make will shape the world. The group you're in is with the characters u see at the end of the trailer pretty much.

@@HandsomeMain they haven't said much about the game's changes they only announced the new trailer. They said before u can play with friends hinting there will be co-op support. But pretty much the game is a single player experience.

Developers and publishers need to be careful to what features they put in their trailers. any mechanics you show you're telling the player to expect that in the final release. Many of this things shown in this trailer could be scripted or context specific. Like is the towers the only destructible? Skydiving into that boss could be a scripted sequence. Can you control that hot air balloon is that fast travel. I'm sure everything we saw in the trailer can be done in game but with how much freedom we have with it is the question.

When a none Witcher game looks more like a Witcher game than the actual Witcher game
It still looks fake, not impossible in scope but rather seems incredibly staged, gotta see an extended gameplay (at least 10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay) for me to make a proper judgement. As it stands currently this game looks pretty but it's not much else.
But the question is, does it have dark elf chics that are as thiiiiiiccccccccccc as they are in black desert?
