I'm late watching this lol, 8 hour time difference plus back to school week has been tough on my viewing routine! But I just wanted to say first, that this video is amazing as usual but second, thank you so much. I see a lot of "essential wardrobe items" videos on here and the vast majority don't work for me because, well, I'm not a size 6 lol. More like a US 18/20. But the way you structured this video and created flexibility (ie. a white shirt in whatever style suits us vs. "this specific white shirt from such and such brand) is something I really appreciate. A basic white shirt, a great pair of jeans, a comfortable blazer, plus the awesome accessories, these are holy grail type wardrobe essentials that can fit a variety of personal styles and can be adapted to any size. I'm not sure if it was something you were intentionally thinking about, but thank you for making a fashion video that is inclusive of all sizes and body types. It's really rare to find these days.
I knew exactly what pieces you would talk about in this video! I completely agree with designer bags, not only do they last forever, but they instantly make an outfit look 10x more expensive! I loved this video 💛

Lydia I love your fashion videos - nobody else does any as good as you centred around fashion apart from hauls, it's amazing!
I definitely agree that a silk scarf is a staple. It can be altered to the current trends and never really goes out of style. What I don't agree with is the importance of it being designer. I personally think it's the fabric of the scarf that makes the outfit/bag look expensive, not the brand. I guess it depends on the person and why people buy/wear designer pieces.

same here! it really just depends on what you buy, there are a lot of inexpensive clothes out there that have great quality and look expensive. especially if you know how to pair the things together it can look either expensive or really cheap

I have over 15 vintage scarves, all very good quality, most of them are 100% silk (made in italy) and I paid around 4$ for all of them at the thrift shop. Since thrif shops don't really care that much for scarves, you can find really good gems for very cheap! Gucci designs are very inspired by vintage scarves at the moment.
Yeah right? Especially the design she showed. My grandma has probably like 5-10 vintage scarfs in this kind of design.

I have 2 Gucci silk scarves I got on poshmark, one for 25 dollars and one for 70 and they've been so wonderful! I agree that everyone needs a good designer silk scarf, and there's so many options in lots of price points!

My five wardrobe essentials are a button up chambray shirt, black skinny jeans, tanned/beige booties, black and white striped T-shirt, and a versatile pair of slip on sneakers. I have been buying different variations of these wardrobe staples for years! I think I currently have five or six chambray button ups!

You should check out the Ferragamo scarves. They also have seasonal sales. I'm over the ripped/distressed jeans, but yes to good fitting jeans.

I only ever wear hollister jeans. It's not about the brand or the price tag for me. They genuinely are the only jeans that fit amazing & like a second skin ! It's amazing to have a collection of your go to brand that you know will fit ! I love jeans haha

I really like this video & the items you chose. However, I am really surprised that you didnt include 1 or 2 basic styles of shoes as wardrobe essentials. As a confirmed shoe-a-holic, they are a must to my idea of a wardrobe basic essential. Actually, I'd like to see you do a video highlighting must-have shoe styles (possibly by season?).
