The wheel studs are taking the force as the spacers aren't hub centric . The wheel studs aren't designed to take the forces the hub centre step is . You need to have a machined hub centric spacer , or a centric ring to connect the wheel centre with the hub . All that is holding the wheel on is the friction of the surfaces that isn't much due to there hollow design. Be safe and fix that before the wheel comes flying off .
Don't you worry, with such stiff ride, over time the vibrations are going to cause all kinds of other problems? It seems to me that you are shortening the life of the car overall for a very minor cosmetic difference. AND you're gonna have a sore butt on bumpy roads!
