I went on a big Friedkin trip a few years back after finally discovering Sorcerer, and then watched & rewatched some of his other films that were lesser known to me. The Brinks Job, Cruising, Bug and Killer Joe (Director's Cut). Absolutely incredible filmography! Especially Bug & KJ, I think more people need to discover and talk about them. So grateful that Sorcerer was remastered and released on bluray as it seemed to revive its memory and allow it to be seen and appreciated by newer generations of film lovers. Absolutely in the top of the best films of the 1970s.
I LOVE FRIEDKIN , HE'S SUCH AN ARTIST. SO SO PASSIONATE. THAT IS , AMONG OTHER THINGS , WHAT SETS HIM APART FROM MOST OF HIS CONTEMPORARIES. A GENIUS INTELLECT , HONEST , SUPREMELY CONFIDENT IN HIS VISION AND FEARLESS !! FOR MY MONEY HE STANDS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE ANYONE AROUND HIM. JUST THE GREATEST !!
5:43 10 years on and it's the same. I was 12 years old and I saw Avengers Assemble. Good fun. Never saw another Marvel film in the cinema, they're all the same but it's a money printer.
That’s right, many people today don’t hesitate to try to shame, censure and condemn other people as racist and so forth but are incapable of introspection. And it’s also a shame that a lot of young movie fans today, as he says, seem to be incapable of appreciating and enjoying “Citizen Kane.” This is not much of an interview. Thankfully Friedkin is nearly always interesting when he speaks.
I wish Friedkin would see Nolan's films because honestly especially The Dark Knight trilogy I see his influence all over it not just technique but themes as well.
I think Billy Friedkin is really quite smart. He's a bit arrogant, but at least he has a real point of view. I couldn't agree with him more about the overuse of 3-D in current films.
RIP - Legend. Love listening to Friedkin interviews.

Very nice conversation regarding the evolution of directors.
Miss him so much already he was a legend
What a guy!
William: *says anything
Interviewer: Mhm.
Friedkin is always an entertaining interviewee. good stuff.
Absolutely brilliant!!
It's a small thing, but I really like the little chapter breakdowns of interviews (that are on part 1, but not on part 2). They're really helpful.
he says he's made 16 films...I can't figure out which ones he is counting. even if you took out his made-for-TV movies, it's still more than 16.
thank you.
this is great 👍
its kind of a trademark if you watch more of these ;)
"As black as my t-shirt."
His t-shirt is actually dark gray.
Is that it? Is there another part?

I was just curious - there wasn't any conclusive "goodbye" or anything like that - it simply just ended.
Le Mepris is my favorite Goddard. Bande Apart as well. My two favorite.
Le Mepris is fantastic.
Breathless is phenomenal. Weekend is horrible.
