Almost 3 weeks away, travelling through multiple states, and not a single foot stepped in Louisiana. Popeye's Chicken only goes so far. I desire shrimp Po-Boys from Louisiana. I'd even settle with Cajun food from SHREVPORT (omfg no).
Difficulty: 4/5
I am always intimidated by levels with standing water in them. I have to be conscious that I can't stop running, or if I need to, I have to time when to stop. Removes me from the run and gun segments I am used to, but implemented well, it sets up for some good puzzles combined with the Stupid Rats. And of course, the ghost Peppino control when dealing with the water. So many failed runs...
Design wise, it's true to New Orleans fashion. Crypts above ground in the background, Mardi Gras masks, the Jazz in the background, and of course Bubba Gump levels of SHRIMP massacred. It was nice to see a Louisiana themed level, and I can't wait for the next video to be released by the team for Other Tower. Thanks @Samwow
Also Tony Chachere's is better than Zatarain's and I will die on that Istrouma Bluff.
Louisiana Hot Sauce is better than Tabasco, too. Crystal's gets a pass. They're good when Louisiana is missing in the store.

Truly one of the most creative and unique CYOP levels so far in Pizza Tower and also one of the most satisfying to get a P rank.

Okay, Samwow is probably one of the only CYOP guys who's almost get indistinguishable from the main game, and they definitely deserve TONS of praise by the community for their good advanced gameplay work _and_ their good art skills, *but there's still a few rough spots:*
- Outside of P-Ranks and veteran speedrunning, the gimmick seems...Unintuitive. I get what they were going for, since repurposing and shaking up how the Biteapple Waters are used is reminiscent of Bloodsauce Lava in a good way at its best, but...I don't think everyone's first reaction to seeing a patch of @$$-biting water and a Stupid Rat would be to get their @$$ bit _intentionally_ so thsy can jump into the Stupid Rats with the force(?) of a reeling Peppino. At least, not without a more obvious indicator/brief tutorial. In the main course, Bloodsauce Lava was always used for torturing Achievement Hunters (AKA _technically_ not being required), but McPig wouldn't make it mandatory on a sane sober day. (...Would he? Can't really tell.)
- A ceiling spotlight or two highlighting the Sir Snotty statue and the "Presents" could help them stand out to newcomers who're playing for the first time. I get that the darkness is half the point, but that'd also make just a single bright safe haven stand out more! (Also, it's within range of the Hamcuff Police Department, so a liiiiiittle Pig City lighting isn't 100% outta the picture.)
- Goblin Archers don't seem like they'd hide out in the sewers. Everywhere else is fine, but the sewers are already cramped enough, and 360° through-the-wall shots are the last things a player wants to see.
- The first Secret could use an indicator. Maybe some kinda "Please Don't Surf Into This Wall" sign to be a bit more blatant, so casuals can focus on getting the nearby Surf Corpse to the target instead of never knowing that was even there. At the very least, they should make the wall look breakable or just remove it entirely, so curious players have a chance of awkwardly stumbling into it.
Sorry 'bout the rant, but imo these need to be said to have at least _something_ playing devil's advocate. (Or would that be Satan's Chef Of The Week, in Pizza Tower's case?) Very few things ruin a game like being told you can do no wrong, proceeding to do _very_ wrong in the midst of some arrogance/unfortunate lack of foresight, and accidentally dividing a community between your "old days" and your current days. (...Maybe that's more of an AAA thing than an indie thing, but I've seen it happen to a big PvZ2 mod, and that was only run by, like, two guys.)
Just sounds like an actual skill issue tbh
@trolljack193 Sure, casuals have skill issues, but *not being taught the gimmick* ISN'T a case of "needs git gud."
It's a gimmick introduction/mini-tutorial issue which is NEVER seen anywhere in the base game; the closest I've seen people get to being blindsided entirely by a gimmick is Deep Dish 9's Rocket Turning and the animatronics in Don't Make A Sound, where Grandma's note is right next to a very appealing and distracting whack-a-rat game cabinet...Or having the message read in the wrong order ("Alarm equals...Granny? Open? What does that-?")
TL;DR: Yeah, it's only a skill issue for people who don't think properly when they're at a Pizza Tower or are only familiar with stumbling through the base game... *Which is actually most people,* so yeah it's a biiiit of a problem.
Okay yeah that's true and honestly I agree, but I think the fun of pizza tower is being like nearly blind with certain gimmicks then later like mastering them completely. Just like pizza tower as a whole, you go from bumping into like everything in a level to perfecting everything about it.
I'm glad to see feedback like this. We're doing a lot of playtesting for the next Other Tower level in comparison to these prior 2 levels, so it should play a lot better out the gate. Po-Boy Bayou also was never playtested, so that probably contributes to a lot of the issues the level has. I definitely am going to do second passes over everything in time, so keep an eye out for some quality of life improvements in the older levels!
