Now I want to get some more of these LEDs and so I can do some torture tests!
What's the advantage of 719a over the 519a?

6V instead of 3V so you get a boost driver coming along plus 719a is a thrower led

As far as advantages, the higher voltage means you can run a boost driver (much for sustained runtime and output)
Something not mentioned here is that the 719A is factory domeless, so it's naturally more throwy than the 519A.
Ive had this for about a year as my default hiking light in SFT40.
I think it's undderated.
SFT40 would be fantastic in this host!
The SFT40 is great for performance in this package, while 719A is great for light quality with throw. Love these domeless LEDs.
If I may ask, what happened with the mic audio in the tabletop footage? My left ear felt lonely.
Got this exact torch just last Saturday because I wanted a side switch light (all my previous ones were, in Convoy tradition, reverse clicky tail switch lights). Haven't fiddled with it too too much, but so far I'm liking the ramping mode better than the discreet steps. Although, in fairness, I like the lower modes better, so judge my preference based on that.
MAO is awesome, both rugged and elegant, feels like the flashlight came straight out of a sci-fi space station. When the finish gets older it kinda develops a slight patina, in that "I'm not old, just a little bit scarred" aesthetic. IMO it ages better than Convoy's usual anodizing.
The audio channel on our old editing rig would only ever come from one channel, and after exhaustive troubleshooting, a new laptop has corrected that.
I like the ability to switch from stepped to stepless, if it's available, especially in low brightness modes.

I get it. Sometimes switching parts is the only solution to the matter.
Indeed it's a really nice feature. Though I like the convenience in ramping of being able to go back down without going all the way to max. That's excellent for an EDC torch.
*Now a caveat:*
MAO actually has a problem: it's very weak to friction. The tailcap threads in particular lose all anodizing almost rigjt away. As a result, MAO coated lights _do not physically lock out._ Not a problem with parasitic drain (it's negligible in the S21E according to selfbuilt's independent testing) but accidental activation while careying is very much a concern.

On the FlashlightGo website, it shows 3 LED options - SST40, SFT40, and 519A (there are various emitting colors available). I see no mention of a 719A LED. Perhaps the SST40 or SFT40 is the 719A under a different name? Can you explain, please. Sorry if this is a stupid question. :)

Well, I definitely have a soft spot for high CRI, but the XHP50.3 Hi, in my opinion, would probably beat out the 719A in terms of throw and overall brightness. I'll definitely have to try it out!
@@torchesandtactical Mentioned XHP also has 93+ CRI, so it is really not far off :)
Would love to see comparison between the 2 + 519A and B35AM option as well. It is impossible to choose between the 4 options, which are all available in S21E BAO color, and they all have 90+CRI. Just impossible choice :)
@@torchesandtactical I hear you (agree as well). But the particular mentioned XHP has sustained 93 CRI, while being brighter and more efficient (both 25-30% more), so it definitely sound as an interesting choice as well. I also wonder how 719a compares to 519a and LH351D as well.

ive always wanted this light when i first started buying flashlights a year ago lol but i never did because i didnt know anything about convoy at the time and everyone was talking about SOFIRN and WURKKOS so i went and bought a few lights from there companies so yeah i wish i would of bought this light for sure lol and yeah i would like to own on of these lights so thanks brother
