CLIP DESCRIPTION:
When he doesn't receive his long-awaited Christmas bonus, Clark (Chevy Chase) loses it and gives an angry rant about his boss.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Chevy Chase, star of National Lampoon's Vacation and its sequel, is back as the paterfamilias of the Griswold family (including Beverly D'Angelo as his missus) to skewer the Yuletide season. Chevy mugs, trips, falls, mashes his fingers and stubs his toes as he prepares to invite numerous dysfunctional relatives to his household to celebrate Christmas. Amidst the more outrageous sight gags (including the electrocution of a cat as the Christmas tree is lit) the film betrays a sentimental streak, with old wounds healing and long-estranged relatives reuniting in the Griswold living room. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation was still capable of attracting an audience five years after its release -- it was one of the top-rated seasonal TV specials of 1994, outrating even the first network telecast of It's a Wonderful Life.

The fact that Eddie actually kidnapped the guy and delivered him to Clark was such a kind gesture and he clearly loved Clark a lot and wanted to do something nice for him.
It is a disgrace whenever this movie is shown "cleaned up" on TV.
To this day when I drink egg nog I say "It's good, it's good."
It’s simply not Christmas until Clark’s rant is heard.
"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is brought to you by Tylenol: 'Calming the nerves of men cheated out of Christmas bonuses since 1955.'"
"HALLELUJAH! HOLY SHIT! Where's the Tylenol?" this is my favorite part of the rant.
My family watches this every Christmas. It is one of our most hallowed and hilarious traditions.
Probably the best rage vent I've heard. I don't blame Clark considering what he's put up with during the movie when all he wanted was a perfect Christmas with his family.
And Eddie took it literally.
The older I get the more I can relate to the scene
"Clark, that's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year" gets me every time
The way he drinks the eggnog always gets me 😂
The single greatest emotional meltdown in movie history.
"Clark, the gift that keeps on giving, the whole year" one of the best line's from a well meaning relative, with absolutely no situational awareness.
This is without a doubt the best Christmas scene in existence
I loved when he briefly raised his eyebrow while looking at the envelope. Clark couldn’t believe what he was reading. 🤣
Love how Eddie is pondering all this in deep reflection.
The thing is this scene is so good. Clark kept it together so well for everyone, even though nothing went right and nobody thought Christmas would even happen, he believed in that bonus so earnestly so naively that you didn't even stop to consider that maybe he WOULDNT get it.
More than 30 years later, this movie rant never gets old...timeless😁
This is quite possibly the best movie rant of all time. And classic Chevy Chase.
