    you can even combine those producs,like the f400 with a yellow pad,perfect finish with microfiber on harder paints,etc etc,

  • @danlc95
    @danlc95 Před 3 lety

    I love the Menzerna line. I sometimes use a similar set up, but use MC2500 instead of Perfect Finish.
    I find that I can use 2500 on my microfiber, or foams and get great results. I usually use the 400, and 3500 as a tag team, being that 3500 usually has enough cut to refine 400/microfiber.
    I've bought a ton of liquids to try, and in my finding, the 3D range of abrasives has been a godsend. In my environment, I'm working alongside paint protection film and vinyl wrap installation. While we are separated by a huge vinyl curtain, I prefer to keep dust at a minimum. At that shop, 3D ONE is my first try for paint correction. It's sort of a medium grade polish that has far reach into correction with a cutting pad, and finishing with a finishing pad. 3D AAT501 compound, and AAT502 polish take care of either extreme. You have to watch 3D ONE though. Sometimes it doesn't finish down all the way. Black Tesla for instance, I needed to remove wool pad marks, and finish out. I actually had to use Rupes Quarz (forgot my 2500 at home, and they had Quarz at the shop) on yellow Rupes Foam pads. I probably could have used the AAT502, but wanted to give a different type of medium polish as try.
    For my own operation I tend to used the 3D ACA alongside ONE, rather than the AAT.
    Good news is that whatever I buy will either get used or sold.

    I want to polish a 2008 BMW X6 just to revive its silver color. After watching this video I am ready to order 6x yellow Rupes Fine pads. I was thinking to use them in a 1-step with 3D One. If at initial testing I find any stubborn defects, I was going to try a 2-step with Sonax Cutmax & Fine first and then 3D One & Fine (should also get some UltraFine for this 2nd step?).
    Also, would you change anything in my procedure? Thanks for helping a newbie mate. (btw I already have the polishes)

      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před rokem +2

      conandrum74 - Firstly thanks for watching. To revive the paint your first option should suffice! As you mention for stubborn defects you will need a 2-step procedure however we would opt to use a Meguiars MF pad in stage 1 as this will be more effective. hakman239 - Koch M3 on the white Rupes should be enough. Remember always start with the least aggressive method first to see if it gives you the results you are trying to achieve. White pad should be enough ... but if you find it isn’t then step up to the yellow Mille pad 👍🏽

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 4 lety +1

      hakman239 - For final refining/jeweling we would use the white Rupes (Mille or standard) pad with a jeweling polish such as Koch M3. The yellow Rupes (Mille or standard) pad is a bit too aggressive for that final step in our opinion/experience. Yellow Rupes pad CAN be used for very good results ... but the whole point of the final jeweling stage is to get that ultimate clarity which we find the white Rupes pad does best even on medium or hard lacquer. However our jeweling polish of choice is Menzerna 3500 👍🏽

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety

      Stephane Edberg - Thank you for your kind words! We are glad you found the video useful! Yes you can - in general damp sanding responds better to smaller throws as you can control the sanding area better but you can still use larger throw machines! 3800 is a finer polish than 3500 and 3800 is our favourite jeweling polish! The results from this polish are just amazing. 3500 is aggressive enough that it can be used as a mild one step polish in some situations but we would not use 3800 for anything other than the final step to get that final 5-10% finish for a truly great finish. Hope this helps! If you’ve not seen our other videos please make sure you do - and if you’re on Instagram subscribe there to see pictures of the results from 3800. • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety

      Stephane Edberg - Many things to answer here:
      1. Before you start sanding you MUST watch our “Watch this to avoid a costly mistake video”
      2. Rupes X-Cut discs will not remove orange peel - you would need something like CarPro Orange Peel removal pads
      3. Watch our “Is damp sanding aggressive?” Video for sanding tips
      4. You would need appx one pad per panel for each grade and each size
      5. Sonax CutMax is our favourite cutting compound! Amazing results. 400 is good but agree it dusts a bit.

      Matthew Monaco - Hi. Rupes bought out new ‘improved’ pads a few months ago! If yours came wrapped in individual foil wrapping they are the new version. You can also tell if they are the new version if they have curved edges rather than straight edges. They are also slightly thinner and firmer. We have tried them but prefer the original pads! @@VProjectUKDetailing yeah it comes individually in a foil. It seems to be a darker yellow as well. I hope it would be a good 1 step on my mk7 gti. I have no idea if it's hard or soft clear. Matthew Monaco - Yes sounds like you have the ‘new’ DA pad. There was also a possibility you had the ‘Mille’ pad which is even thinner but our guess was you have the ‘DA’ pad. Ah the dreaded dealership wash! Or free sandpaper session as we call it! See how you get on with it. As you’ve not used the standard Yellow Fine pad you won’t know the difference. Most German cars have hard paint so if you’re using the Rupes pad as a one step on a VW we’d suggest pairing it with the Meguiars Detailer D300 Compound. @@VProjectUKDetailing I was livid man. They ruined my cquartz ceramic with polish angel high gloss as a topper. I told them I ceramic coated my car and denied ruining the finish. So perfect finish with rupes or uro fiber pads with 3d one wouldn't work as well?

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety

      Matthew Monaco - We feel your pain. Been there. However annoying it is (which is very) it could be worse - PolishAngel High Gloss has a high Titanium content over Silica i.e. as the name suggests it is designed to be a glossy show finish rather than a topper which is designed to protect loads or last ages (even though maintained properly it does last several months). Rupes Yellow with Sonax Perfect Finish will give you very good results. Avoid using the Uro Fiber pad as it will leave hazing which will require a 2nd stage polish to get the finish you may be looking for and could also remove your CQuartz or most of it. Based on your scenario we would first try the Rupes Yellow pad with AngelWax Perfect Polish. It is a very mild abrasive polish with a cleaner fluid and may well be enough to remove the PolishAngel High Gloss if that’s all your looking to do. If your CQuartz has been on for some time and had some scratching then the Sonax Perfect Finish is the way to go 👍🏽🤓

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +1

      Abel Tatek - Great question. TBH the only time we would use a Uro Fiber pad is on medium paint where we wanted to get/paint was thick enough to get slightly more cut than when using a Rupes yellow fine pad, or on hard paint where the paint was too thin to use a full MF pad. Uro fiber would be fine with Sonax PF (one of our favourite polishes) but we find we get better results with Meguiars D300 Detailer Compound! Although it’s a compound it works great as a 1-step providing excellent cutting and finishing! We only use 4 pads in order of aggressiveness - Rupes White, Rupes Yellow, Uro Fiber, Meguiars MF. All you need. Hope this helps! If you’ve not subscribed please make sure you do! Thanks 👍🏽🙏🏽🚗

      @@VProjectUKDetailing thanks. I honestly have no clue about anything paint correction related. I think I'm gonna start with that rupes white paired with sonax perfect finish and start with that as a paint enhancement.

      Abel Tatek - The lowest pad you should use Sonax PF with is the Rupes yellow pad! White pad is for jeweling/glossing only and you would need the relevant polish e.g. - Menzerna 3800

    Could you use rupes Millie yellow pad with a finishing polish? Koch m3.02

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 4 lety +1

      hakman239 - Good question! Yes you can ... however it depends on what result you are trying to achieve! If you are trying to achieve the final jewelling of your paint which is what you would usually use a finishing polish for, then you will get better results using the Rupes UltraFine White Mille pad! The Fine Yellow Mille pad will give you more cut! However ... the Rupes Fine Yellow Mille pad is so versatile that you will still get outstanding results ... but you may notice an extra 5-10% jewel using the UltraFine white Mille pad! Hope this helps!

      hakman239 - It all depends on the finish you get from compounding, lacquer type etc ... - But we would recommend Sonax Perfect Finish with the yellow pad. Good Luck.

    Esoteric car care say you don’t need to prime microfibre pads they don’t and there working on high end cars Iv tried priming wool pads it’s just too much product lot of sling

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +1

      hakman239 - From experience an unprimed microfibre pad usually causes more hazing than a primed pad. Having said this with modern technology these days in modern compounds the oils and carriers usually prime pads fairly quickly if they are not pre-primed anyway. At V-Project UK we want the best results possible with minimal effort so priming for us on the first use is what we do. No need to prime foam pads as long as you are using the right polishes. As for too much sling ... when we prime a pad we use very little product to prime and use less product on the first set of passes as the pad will be loaded with compound. On the second set of passes on the same pad after cleaning it revert to the normal amount of compound 👍🏽🚗

      This comes down to experience. They can be used and washed multiple times but you will see after a while their performance drops off. There’s no specific answer. Some will last longer than others depending on how aggressive they have needed to be to remove defects. If you are completing a high end detail e.g. multi stage to get 90%+ correction then you should always use new pads and one pad per panel, or one pad for two smaller panels 👍🏽
