  • Leigh Goehring brings his decades of experience as an investor in natural resources to send a message: now is the time to invest in commodities, as they have never been more undervalued in the history of markets. Leigh goes in-depth on his investment thesis for gold, silver, uranium, copper, energy, and agriculture, along with explaining the cyclical nature of commodities and why today is when you want to be invested in the sector.

    This was amazing! Clear questions - straight answers AND FREE THINKING! Sunspot cycles is a new for me, but in the last 15 years I have heard "worse for me" and it all came true! My thanks to Leigh for being open and honest.
    I like to disagree with the silver answer as - with all due respect - my Ag is now outperforming my Au, but historically maybe it should not yet or this will change again soon. Ratio is 76.x and my buys were all well over 80. I think there might be relatively less Ag out there as has been in the older pm bull markets. Gold is still there, silver is gone.
    Jesse, I enjoyed Leigh big time. Many thanks!

    Interesting guest. Thanks for having him! I find his mention of draught and extreme weather fascinating! As an engineer who loves the study of planetary science, we should all note that Sun Cycle 25 began in 2019. The solar maximum is supposed to be around July 2026, so do not be surprised to see extreme weather around the GS maximum. Then we head towards the grand solar minimum or the GSM, with its peak around 2030. I'd be interested to see if Leigh has any thoughts on the projected severity of the upcoming GSM. For example, the Dalton Minimum (1790-1820). This was a solar minimum during which Europe and North America faced severe cold spells. The “Year Without a Summer” in 1816 is a famous example. Crops failed, and people suffered due to the cold.
    Another example from history is related to solar storms, which we are now seeing with increasing frequency.
    Solar Storm of Oct-Nov 1903: An extreme solar storm occurred during the ascending phase of the relatively weak solar cycle 14. It led to significant geomagnetic disturbances and is the most significant storm on record during a solar minimum period.
    Also note that ALL of our electronics are becoming more and more vulnerable as the earth's magnetic field continues to weaken. (Nobody wants to talk about this or the investment required to harden infrastructure!). I'm "fringe" or a "conspiracy theorist' for even mentioning this!
    Again, great interview. I'll have to check out their website!

    That technology Leigh describes for finding and mining copper is interesting.
    It certainly pushes my current bias though, which is to ride the copper bull with producing miners only (juniors and large companies) while avoiding the exploration sector.
    I ultimately decided that exploration companies are not for me after losing a bunch of $ on explorers in the years following the 2021 peak. I have a lot more patience when there’s solid earnings.

    • @CommodityCulture
      @CommodityCulture  Před 25 dny

      Makes sense to me, I completely avoid exploration and prefer producers or in the case of uranium, developers with a clear path to production.

But my gold and silver miners still underwater though I have recovered a lot the past couple of months. So I am locked and loaded for this commodity bull run that is supposed to come, but never does (at least for Gold and Silver miners).

    • @CommodityCulture
      @CommodityCulture  Před 16 dny

      Honestly speaking, there are very few ETFs in those categories unless you want to play the futures market. ETFs with actual companies in them are few and far between, I use the COW ETF for agriculture, the is only one ETF for coal right now and it's fairly new with a very small AUM, nothing for nat gas either, outside of lumping it in with energy and buying an oil & gas ETF like XLE.

  • @sarwarkhan1185
    @sarwarkhan1185 Před 14 dny +1

    I don’t agree because EV sales are dropping and so Are electronics sales so demand for lithium , Copper and nickel will go down in the next 2-7 years which means a lot of the capital investment being wasted for no reason and these projects becomes loss making for many companies like Albemarle, FMC etc . The only commodity that every one should buy between 1500-1900$ per Oz is Gold . I won’t buy above 1900$ and won’t stay on the side lines below 1500$ per Oz. Gold also should not be more than 10% of a total portfolio and it should be used as a hedge against uncertainty and inflation. Rest of the 90% portfolio should be invested in Cashflow generating businesses .
