- Program Management...
For some it's a wholly new discipline: for others, it's a natural growth from Project Management - maybe even 'grown-up' project management.
So, what is Program Management?
In this video, I'll answer that question.
But we need to see it for what it is, itself. And that starts by understanding what a Program is.
A Program...
(UK Spelling: Programme)
The temporary organization that oversees a variety of related projects, operational activities, and initiatives.
Projects within a program are related by dependencies among one or more of:
• Common resource pool
• Inter-related goals, objectives, and outcomes
• Scheduling or budgetary constraints
The program brings them all together in a coordinated manner - and typically lasts longer than the span of the longest project, as components are scheduled and sequenced to overlap, but not to all run concurrently.
The outcomes of a program are usually of strategic importance to the enterprise.
Program Management
(UK Spelling: Programme Management)
Coordination, leadership, and implementation of a program of inter-related projects and activities. The goal of program management is to realize the benefits forecast for the program.

Fantastic summary. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
Very Great Video:
Very Good explanation
Thank you, Nachiket.
Thanks Very helpful. Could you please do a video about; 'When you fail to listen to your programme manager'? I mean the implications of when stakeholders and teams refuse or willingly go against the expert advice of a programme manager? and how to resolve it if it is even possible. I've seen over the years that one of the most common reasons projects fail are when SRO and other stakeholders interfere with the management of the programme and fail to listen to expert advice on risks, timelines, and lots more. This will be very helpful. please
That's a great idea, Jerry, thank you.

Thanks. TQSM???
Sir can you please suggest good certification for Program Manager and how many certification required to be done for this
Praveen, the two I'd look at straight away are PMI's Program Management Professional (PgMP) and the Axelos Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) certifications. I know more about the MSP and it is excellent (recently overhauled and the feedback I've heard say also improved). But there will be advantages and disadvantages for each that will depend on your needs and experience.
PMI does set prerequisites - Axelos does not, for its Foundation tier (you need Foundation to take Practitioner, I think).
You must make your own assessment of which is right for you - and there may be other options. Here are the links to help you:

@@Onlinepmcourses Sir Agile Program manager certification is good and well recognised?? I am planning for that
@@PraveenMangolia If I'm honest, I have never heard of an Agile Program manager certification, so I cannot say anything about it. Add a link if you get a moment.

Sir I need one example ...in a manufacturing company ..
One example of what?
An example of a program might be to reduce manufacturing costs, with a series of projects looking at raw material supply chain, factory automation, warehousing efficiency, and QA procedures.
@@Onlinepmcourses in car manufacturing company how program works? I need example in this
@@balajimohan6864 I've not worked in auto manufacturing. 'How a Program works' is a HUGE question - a whole course-worth of knowledge. I may one day build a program management course. But it's not a question for which the answer will fit into a YT comment!
Please is program management an advisory role?
Whilst there are Program Management advisors and consultants (I used to be one), active program management is a managerial and leadership role.
@@Onlinepmcourses thank you
How good is an explanation without examples?
As good as the explanation.
Why are people so negative. You sit back and do nothing but hate ..
Good video but I had to watch it in 2x speed. Maybe that's just me.
Maybe - I deliberately pace my videos slow, because a lot of my audience is international and many do not have English as a first language.
1.25x you're welcome :)
Fine by me
Nee bonda laga undi saami.. yemi artham kaaley..

Speaking Hindi please
Sorry, I only speak English. But there are loads of PM Channels from India - there must be some good ones in Hindi.
