    I installed Spyder fog lights using the factory fog light wire harness, factory relay, and with the after market switch.
    I had some issues where a screw rusted in and I couldn't take off the entire front bumper.
    I also decided to not have the fog lights turn on when the lights turned on. I wanted to be able to do it when I wanted to.

    It's not clear instruction what wire controls the headlights relay and which is parking light relay and which is coming from factory fog light relay and where to it has to be connected tru the switch. I have Matrix 2013 and can't figure out the dark green wire on the side has 12v when headlight switch is off and has 0v when light are on. Also dark brown next to Bright green has 12v when parking lights off and 0v we parking lights are on.

    Thank you for posting this video. I looked, and I have the wiring for fog lights and the spot where the relay goes is wired, so I think I can use the original wiring like you did. I do have a question though: Regarding the wiring you ran to your switch; if you had just connected the red and white wires together at the light switch, would the fog lights come on with the headlights, shut off with the headlights, and would the fog lights go out when the car high beams are on? I'm asking these questions so I know what the red and white wires do. In otherwords, are you using the switch to connect the red and white wires together?
    Please get back to me,
    Regards

    • @huyly1632
      @huyly1632  Před 7 lety

      You are correct. If you do not use the switch like I did, you can connect the red and white wires together with another wire going from the red socket to the white socket. That creates a permanent on where the fog lights will come on every time your headlights come on, turn off when your high beams come on and shut off when you take the key out. The switch is an on/off deal versus permanent on. Now if you cut the red and white wires off the harness and physically twist them together, I have no idea what that will do.

      You have to cut a wire on a connector behind your glove box. However, this also disable automatic headlights when it gets dark.

  • @EnjoyLifeNow24

    I think you could have avoided doing a lot of work by just purchasing the headlight/fog light combination switch from Toyota. All that you had to do was to replace the headlight switch and install your fog lights using the factory wiring harness and bingo. I ordered my headlight/fog light combination switch from Toyota last week and I am waiting for them to arrive to install my Spyder Projector fog lights. I also ordered LED fog light bulbs (6,000 lumens). I am planning to also purchase LED projector headlights for my 2009 Toyota Corolla LE. The price for both is around $400.

      You can do this to your camry but I'm not sure how similar the wiring setup is with the 07 camry le vs the 09 corolla. If you're lucky enough to have the factory harness installed you can use the video as a guide to help you. I'm positive there are alot of people who have installed foglights in their 07 camry. Check toyota nation and look for the appropriate form.

    I have a 2010 Corolla LE and there do appear to be any wires or contacts for the relay in the position indicated in the video. There are also no wires in the relay base directly above that position. There are wires and connectors under the fender for the fog lights, but they do not go to the relay base. So I would check to see if your model has wires in the relay base, before spending any money on a relay.

      I followed this guide for the 2009 Corolla.FOr your 07 camry. You can do follow the same guide/video. But I would make sure your car has existing wires for fog lights. Check behind your front bumper where the fog lights should be. If you see extra wiring harnesses, then you can install them. If there isn't any. You would have to install your foglights using the wiring kit that came with them. That's a completely different thing.

  • @eliezerdungca5342
    @eliezerdungca5342 Před 6 lety

    I have question because we got 100% same foglight and wire. Do i need to buy new relay switch? And just disregard the stock relay and fuse from foglight? And no need to connect wire in to the battery?

    • @huyly1632
      @huyly1632  Před 6 lety +1

      Eliezer Dungca it depends. Everything they provide, including the fuse and relay, is for a complete install in case your car does not have the factory fog light wires. You would connect the fog lights to their fuse and relay with their wires. And they want you to connect to the battery for power.
      But if your car has the fog light wiring in the front of the car already installed, and want to use the factory wires, you don’t need to use the relay and fuse from the kit and you wouldn’t have to connect the wire to the battery since the factory wiring is connected to the car. If you choose to use the factory wiring, then you will have to buy a new relay since the one that it comes with will not fit under the dash. I hope that makes sense!
