You forgot after you use digital level you have to look back through view finder to be sure the dot is over your point, because when adjusting the bubble with fine tune knobs it will move the dot off of the point,
I start with the total station on the tripod in the center . Set tripod over desired point. Plant 1 leg . Now grab the other legs and swing upward till not touching ground. Look thru optical plummet while also glancing at the fish eye when you are relatively level and over the point swing legs down to the ground and plant. Now adjust legs until fisheye is back in the center. Fine tune with leveling screws. Loosen instrument and center over point. Voila
I start with the legs up and screw station on top of it. Put the station over the mark. Look into the "view finder" if I'm over the mark. When is close enough push one leg into soil. Look into the "view finder" and hold on the 2 free legs and move station over the mark as accurate as I can, push all legs into ground. Then adjust the length of les and move bubble in the middle of the circle mark. So the tripod is leveled for now. Then move the station, loose the screw and slide the station on the tripod to over the mark again. Turn station on and fine level it. Double check on mark and level again.
on flat surface would be heaven setting this thing up..

Might wanna make sure you are over the point before setting the legs. Common rookie mistake
Not really. If you're experienced, you should be able to set the tripod over the point and be pretty close.

all good until 0:28. center total station using total station screws and then level using legs. repeat 1-2 or 3 times. then level using screws and then skip to 0:28.

How much field experience? If you're not going to do it right I wouldn't want you doing any survey work for me.
The legs should always be set first in the ground before the total station goes on the tripod.

And it's a topcon, so you don't use it much. Think about switching to trimble or leica.
