- So its time I put the Zenon through its bait finesse test to see if Abu Garcia have moved the game forward for their BFS reels...

Oh my...my favourite casting reel of all time... different model for different type of catch...in my experience Abu Garcia casting reel always giving me pleasure of fishing...thanks for the video...next time you do a comparison with other brand then the result will be more interesting to know...such a great video pal..

Hopefully, Avail makes a spool for the Zenon because that plus the better braking would make this reel a beast.
I love the Avail spool on my Revo Ultracast. Would pick up the zenon if avail made a spool.
Quite not in this case. The centrifugal IVCB4 is al|easy adjusted to the spool size. In using a lighter spool, you could easily lose that. Thats not a magnetic system who is more adaptable to different spool sizes.

You and my buddy would agree on leaving the plastic over cork. I take it off, but I guess it does protect it!
Until water gets in it and prevents it from venting, it just rots after that.
Bugger protecting the cork grip, if theres cork I want that in my hand, not a plastic sheet stopping feel etc.. .Maybe he's got the plastic sheets over his loungeroom suite at home too.
what's the point of having cork if youre gonna put plastic over it?

So just like your 2021 Scorpion DC video… this video sold me on the Zenon LTX and I just ordered one from JLS yesterday. Lol. I know it comes down to fishing style, but what BFS bass rod(s) would you suggest for it? I plan to keep the lure weight range around 3g-10g for this setup. Looking for a 6’-6’6” 2pc rod in the $100-$150 range.

True Abu Garcia grind on the retrieve 🤣 not the smoothest but they do build a absolute tank of a reel and they cast a country mile

Am I the only one think he doesn't have a smooth casting stroke for this rod? Constant angler's casting stroke is better in my opinion to cast this light of lure.

Why is the spool whaight such a big deal to you? I'm only asking because I wanted to know what your thoughts are on that
Less spool weight means it takes less force for it to start spinning when you cast.
Spool weight in general is important for BFS when you’re casting light lures.
Same reason why people will only put 1/5th of the line capacity on the reel.

I waiting for metanium 2022 test with 4, 5 gram lures because different spool from metanium 2020. Please bro 🙏
It is just a bit lighter. If you run braid backing on your regular Metanium or just straight braid it won't cast a whole lot different. Assuming you have the JDM version which is already more shallow than the US model...

@@rahimrahman4418 beware though, the shallow version has aluminum gears. Not always a bad thing but a lot of Metanium aluminum micro gears had long term issues.
@@logicalrationalfishing7481 they’ve redesigned aluminum micro module gears. The gear teeth are more boxier than pointier how they were before. Not sure if that matters enough, but at least they changed things. Hopefully they are smoother and more durable now. At least my 22 Alde Bfs is still liquidy smooth with its new gear design.

You're spoiled because you apparently missed out on the good old days when those of us who bought the Yumeya 32mm Mg and AL BFS Spools for our 09 Aldebarans, Scorpion XT1000's, Curado 50E's and the Core 50 first put on line and grabbed a Loomis CR721 and threw a unweighted worm and we thought that we were in BFS Heaven. I'll admit that those spools aren't shit compared to what is available now but back then, those of us who bought them we're glad that we did and I still use them to this day and I can throw a 2.5g Bitsy Minnow with either one. Come to think of it, the 12 Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG's spool I'm sure weighs more than your 9g weight and if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was the very first mass produced from scratch, BFS reel. 😂
