Just so you know this show started at the same time as Arrow season 3. Barry first shows up in Arrow season 2 to set up his character and this show. And as others have said there are A LOT of shows in the Arrowverse and a lot of crossovers so if you're only watching Flash you're gonna get really confused when they happen.
I wasn't confused I started of with only the flash and didn't watch another's till season 4 they gjve enough info in the crossovers so I know whats going on

One thing to get used to while watching this show: Embrace the campiness. The first two seasons of The Flash are very aware of the rather corny nature of the show, so they make no efforts to hide it. It makes the show better honestly, because the emotions be HITTIN during genuinely serious moments.

Awesome! Grant Gustin does a great job as Flash and I always love his and Green Arrow/Oliver queen dynamic & this & the other DC shows are connected like the MCU movies

Hey, you know we all like goofy and fun girls. And they know it too.
The whole reason I've watched every episode of this show is because of how good of a Flash Grant Gustin is. If he were to be brought into the DC movies with better writing and a better budget he would be perfect for it.
All the fans or anyone familiar with 50+ years of Flash comics history already knew going in that Barry and Iris were romantically involved. She was his Lois Lane in the comics and they actually got married just a few years into the comic's run so the producers of the show felt they needed to mix it up a little. Kind of like how on "Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman" back in the 90s they kept getting them together and breaking them up before they finally ended up getting married. Speaking of the 90s, the man who plays Barry's father on this show was the actor who was The Flash on the 90s show.
It’s easy to forget that this show had dignity at one point. I miss when this show was good.

Please continue this show even if it’s not for us to see you react. This show is amazing and yeah it has its slower moments but this show when it came out always had a message that helped me in times I needed it and is just a amazing show.
The Arrow character is Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow (who for several seasons is just called "Arrow", for some reason).
He's Robin Hood-themed Batman.

I used to love this show so bad, the "run, barry, rur" give me chills, it's sad that it just stopped being this good, I tried but honestly after season 5 I couldn't enjoy it anymore..

The CW "Arrowverse" was really sly about easter eggs. If you know the series and DC Comics in general you'll see name drops like that place where he was first testing out his speed with STAR Labs crew on the runway, that was an easter egg for The Green Lantern and you'll see names or hear names of future villains or other super heroes like Superman, Batman etc. It can be written on a board, written on a document, hear the name in the background somewhere etc. And his dad was The Flash for the 1990's TV Show. IMO, the Arroverse in 2014 was doing a much better job at establishing a shared universe than DCEU was doing at the time (2014). It's a cheesy show and I love it for it. It has it's ups and downs. The cast is great and gets better, I just wish it wasn't written so linear, like one villain at a time. With his speed, I wish they'd have introduced his entire rogue gallery in a few episodes and then sprinkled everyone throughout the entire season. This would make sense with his super speed that he can be tackling like a few situations at a time.
I am a thousand percent convinced they cast the actor as Harrison Wells based on how many different dramatic ways he ennunciate the phrase, "Run, Barry. Run."
John Wesley Shipp, who plays Barry's father, is the ORIGINAL Flash actor from the 1990-1991 Flash TV series.
I actually really enjoy your commentary and you speaking your mind of what you like and don't like it gives a show some of us may have already seen a new perspective and thats never wrong so talk as much as you want Ange ☺️ also good job on the editing getting hyped. But maybe next time something like this happens you should consider watching Arrow so you can actually get hyped because this is what started the hole Arrow universe kinda like marvel did but with tv shows like Arrow the Flash Supergirl Legends of tomorrow and also Batgirl so maybe consider starting Arrow as well but that's up to you. I enjoyed your reaction and look forward to the next one weather it will be the Flash Arrow or anything else always makes me smile thank you ❤️

lol there was a bit of a backdoor pilot situation where barry was introduced (and actually played a significant part in the plot) of 1 (or 2?) episodes of arrow lol. it's definitely more of a "this is barry, these are the vibes he's putting out, soak it in" type intro, though lol. he was a wholesome cinnamon roll in a show full of angst, darkness, and a hero who legit had no problem just killing people. honestly, they're such wildly different characters and heroes and yet friends, that the dynamic between those 2 characters remains one of my all time favorite parts of the entire arrowverse. i digress.
If you didn’t know, there was another Flash show in the 90s and the guy who played Barry Allen/The flash back then (John Wesley Shipp) plays Barry’s dad in this show
Caitlin and Cisco made their first appearance on an episode of tv series Arrow, way before Barry Allen appeared in season 2.
Really wish you would continue on with Season 2 of Umbrella Academy, Season 2 of Walking Dead, Season 1 of Breaking Bad and Season 1 of Arcane. :)
For your kind information, that investigation scene was adopted from sherlock Holms & you can really tell a lot things from a tire pattern on poof if you have good observation power
The first few seasons were a guilty pleasure for me (largely because of childhood fandom of comic book Flash) but I absolutely agree with you about the dialog.
Season run down: Barry Allen is the Flash, Cisco is the engineer of the team, Wells is actually the time traveler Eobard Thawn/The one who killed Barry's mom, Eddie shot himself to erase Eobard from existence, Iris is also in love with Barry, Catlin's fiancé is alive.
Just to point out Joe adopted Barry and then Married Iris, therefore he married his adoptive sister also fun fact the dad played the part of Barry Allen on a old I think 80's version of the flash

Seasons 1 is the best and it slowly kinda goes down in quality from there. Seasons 2-4 are still good and worth watching, seasons 5-7 are not that great but there are select episodes in between which are good, including the crossover events. They are on season 8 right now which seems like a decent start
By the end of this season u will get to know this show is more of a time related story than speed.
U should definitely watch first 3season they are awesome (rest season are fine, feels like they are stretching the story too much)

The first couple seasons are literally my favorite lol and a total comfort show lol 😂 it may be a bit “cheesy” in the dialogue sometimes but it’s honestly what I love about it lol 😂

Barry’s mask is a cowl. Similar to Batman’s cowl but red and with lightning instead of horns. 😊
Also at this point in the story, even though Joe knows Henry is innocent. They would have to prove he’s innocent. That would be a hard task considering they’d have to have a new suspect and they would have to explain/prove all that lightning stuff.
Finally someone who is giving an honest opinion of the show. Love your commentary and would like to see more of your reaction on Flash series.
Harrison Wells is actually a man named Eobard Thawne and he is the man who killed Barry’s mom, he is from the future and he came back in time to kill Barry, but ended up killing his mom and getting stuck in the past, to the extent that he had to create the flash earlier than Barry was suppose to get his abilities and become the flash.
I really liked your commentary! I can't wait to go back and watch your older videos. Arrow was first, and then they spun off The Flash, but I always liked Flash more than Arrow. It felt more fun. I hope you enjoy watching more of the DC/CW shows!

Dude I’ve watched the first season like a dozen times but I always tear up at the scene of Barry and his dad in prison in this first episode. My eyes are watering as I type.
All the DC shows are great in different ways to me. I definitely recommend Arrow and The Flash to watch. Arrow is more serious and it balances out the happy and cheesy tones of The Flash while both are solid shows for the first 4-5 seasons but allow you to stop at the end of each. The are both interesting and binge worthy.
I wish I had a friend like you when I was younger and really into this show...or honestly now. That story where you bought your friend a hoodie was amazing

The guy playing Barry's father is John Wesley Shipp, who played Barry Allen/The Flash (a DC character since 1961, a revival of the 1941 character) in the 1991 TV series, THE FLASH.
Our Barry first appeared in a couple of issues of ARROW before being spun off into his own show here. Arrow, Oliver Queen, eventually becomes the Green Arrow, another DC character since the 1940s, who is basically Batman with a bow and arrows. (He's also a bazillionaire, just like Bruce Wayne.)
There will eventually be numerous crossovers between FLASH and ARROW and later LEGENDS OF TOMOROW, SUPERGIRL, and more. (Eventually even BLACK LIGHTNING.)
Flash peaked at season 1 sadly, season 2 was still pretty good but afterwards it really had a downward spiral in terms of quality. Still think you’d definitely enjoy this first season, though the marvel netflix shows (w the exception of iron fist s1) >>> arrowverse (cw dc shows)

Reverse Flash is the best villain, but Zoom was probably his deadliest. Zoom is the edgelord and he's good at it.

Watched last episode of the entire show season 9, and somehow landed here grieving. Its nice that the first episode still makes me happy. Knowing that there will be no flash in future.

Great reaction, once you get to certain episodes it may be a little confusing because art Allen was introduced in season 3 of ARROW, and some of the characters from Arrow come to this show, also every season they have crossovers at first just Arrow and Flash but eventually there are 5 shows that crossover, for me I really like FLASH but Arrow is IMO a lot better at most points

I don't know if someone pointed it out already in the comments, but the actor who played Barry's father, actually played Barry Allen/The Flash in a TV series in the 90's.
Definitely not as good as the Marvel Universe, but watching most of the main shows will add depth and context even if it's cheesy. I however stopped watching around the time Arrow ended due to lack of interest. First couple seasons are good and the crossovers are fun.

Oh, btw that scene with The Flash and Arrow happened after like the second season of the series Arrow, because it started a couple of seasons before The Flash, there's also Supergirl, The Legends Of Tomorrow, and Batwoman, but you only need The Flash and Arrow to understand everything, they are also the 2 main ones, and yes Arrow is as good as The Flash, there's a lot of action, fighting, and realism to Arrow too which I really like, unlike Flash where there's superpower and time traveling but still keeping it as realistic as possible which I also like, so it's kind of evenly as good for me, there is also a lot of crossovers, The Arrowverse.
