Vanessa is so talented. She was America's first Black Miss America. Until they took the title from her because someone found some nude shots of her. And she was deemed unworthy of the title. The organization apologized to her later.

You must be from the UK? Dina Carroll had a huge career in the 90s and early 2000s in the UK- but not much exposure to the US market. And yes, her and Vanessa do share a similar look and vocal style! They are both at the top of my list of favorite female singers. Nice surprise to see someone mention her.
@@tomrobinsondc yes I am! Think Dinah has a more powerful voice and catchier songs, or should I say more dance orientated. Apart from ‘The Perfect Year’ which has same kind of slow melody.
