Dude... My oldest brother had a grasshopper back in the day! I never would have remembered that if I didn't read this comment! I'm more new school. My rcs were a nitro 4tec and an old tmaxx back in the day. I wanna say the 4tec was a 1.8 originally and I got the tmaxx in the 2.1 era 👍 unfortunately I ended up losing radio and sending the 4tec head on into a curb at around 80mph and the tmaxx I ended up just selling lol
Because of watching your video, i remembered i still have 2 RC car that i stored in my garage 13 years ago. I took them out and spend some bucks for repair. One Losi truggy 1/8 nitro and the other one is traxxas rustler brushless. Today i finally run them again and it feels super good..... cant wait to bring them out this weekend for some bashing !!
I love nitros I just recently got into electric but ill never get away from nitro rcs cause your right there's something special about running them

Hay kev, I think its really nice that you have got your brother in on the action. I have been over on his channel and been watching the boat building etc. really love the content they are making. I honestly believe that you have that quality that top gear has. People watch you even though they are not into RC's or what ever. It simply is just good entertainment. spot on buddy

Grasshopper was my first rc car and i put a 57 Chevy body on it with super fat tires up under the back and skinny's on the front and slammed it down low like a pro mod drag car and put a Kyosho 480 gold motor in it and thought it was the baddest thing ever. It was fast for its time 30 years ago. It was cheap to replace parts too. Amazing how far they've come with rc tech
I bought a 20 year old t-maxx and it's so much fun. I like to fiddle about with tuning and all that.
At 5:31 the HoaBoa on the top shelf was mine until I sold it for part of a tamiya tt02d love the channel keep it up!

My first and only nitro to run those 4 AA clip in receiver packs was a RC10 GT that smacked a curb, ejected a battery at full throttle and proceeded to destroy both axles and three of the four A arms. Lessons were learned.

Also do you recommend buying new battery’s, or Charging them at the lowest volt to revive it. What do you do/recommend

They really are Man lol! Half the fun of nitro is how it DOESN'T work well, in a way lol. Like the gear head who can't get rid of the 72 Camaro that breaks down every 37 hours. Blood sweat and tears and 20 mins of fun once a month 🤣🤣 the dream 💪

My old thunder tiger ts 4n has two speed transmission and my Tamiya Ford Aerodyne has a 3 speed transmission.keep up the great videos Kev.

Avante... memories!! Had one which was promptly stolen during a house break-in many decades ago.
Retuning nitro every other time I took mine out just killed the fun for me.
2 stroke was definitely the way to go for me.

These FW-05T cars are silly fast for public roads, I remember tuning customers cars and these were dangerously fast on a slightly bumpy road with cars parked at the sides.

Omg Kev the Avante was also my dream car as a kid … now almost … not quite 50 and I would still like to get it lol … remember it had more metal parts so was more expensive but I had a Grasshopper; The Frog which I bought at Hamleys in London and the Fox … love your content and am a huge fan of your work.

Wow every day you get a new toy, and every day we do get a day to work, sounds fair.
Not sure if it still counts but after a high speed pass you pinch the fuel line and count to 3 and the motor should die. Longer the time you need to lean out the low speed needle. Short time richen it. Bit high speed has to be tuned first.
Atleast that's how I do it.

Kev, its a alpina a110. Its the race brand from renault that also has a F1 team.....
You can just open your fuel cap and let it snap back shit a few times, and the pressure it creates will Prime the fuel lines very quickly. I snap mine 3 or 4 times and it will push the fuel right up to the carb.

Quick an easy tip!
When you get any new item with a carbureted motor on it and your think it could benefit from a small amount of tuning but you’ve never done it before, number one rule! Before you do any drastic, find any jet screws you can find on the carb and simply turn the screws down until they bottom out and write down how many turns it took. That way if you mess it up and make things worse or it won’t run at all then you can bottom out every jet and then turn them out the number of times you wrote earlier and you can’t start over again from stock tune.

I want one of those schumacher cat xls old schools 1/10 4x4 buggy. My buddy had one back in the late 80's it was awesome it had one way berings in the front hubs and brake away front suspension so if you hit something the a arms don't snap.

@@KevinTalbotTV also when you run the Savage, there has been reports of the Savage wouldn't shift correctly or be stay in a gear. you might have to upgrade some things on the Savage to help it shift right. there are also videos on CZcams on this issue with the v2 and how to correct it.
but the brushless version has zero issues out of the box
My recommended is so lame, only until Kevin Talbot uploads, it is the best, I immediately click on talbot's videos.
Awesome video as always! That car is a 2017 Alpine A110 (based on the 1973 A110). Today Automobiles Alpine is a subsidiary of Renault.

That "Dumborc" receiver looks like it was manufactured from the Radiolink company. It looks VERY similar to the Radiolink R6FG receivers that I use in all my surface models.
Its been since my marder, but man i miss this hobby. Love your vids and your energy man!

hey kev, if you want to use one hand on that controller just use spare tyre to wrap the wheel on the controller. may help your thumb to reach it and you dont have to use two hands.
