In context of this album's themes I'm guessing the thing that should not be are taxes.
Don't tread on me 🤌🏻
This comment is gold
Possibly corrupt officials
But that's so touche
Its about AIPAC lmao
Taxes, lobbyists, career politicians… so many solid allegories
Well, now we just need Damage inc. and Lepper messiah and we'd have the entire Master of puppets album with AJFA tone. Neat!
I will literally go crazy when Damage Inc. hits with AJFA tone......!!!!!
Damage inc is coming I saw it on his story a few weeks ago
Tone and "style" we should add
Leper Messiah on RTL 😦
the problem is that we don't have vocal stems for Damage Inc and Leper Messiah
now just imagine what ungodly levels of heaviness we'd have reached if Jason's bass were audible in this rework
Well, he can make this song on ...And Justice for Jason just like he did with Sandman.
i wish his reworks were on ...And Justice for Jason
Yes, that will be the ultimate version of TTTSNB
Un român oarecare /An average Romanian or he could try to do a “Seattle 89” version of the rework.
For some reason every time I listen to this song I can't get James's voice out of my head from the Seattle show in 89. That shit was brutal man 🤘🏽
Pretty much same voice or better during 89, that just happened to be filmed.
Yeah! Thats insane. I also like his vocals on this: (MetOnTour - Adelaide, Australia - 2013)
@Reffidex Dude yesss I mean all of them pretty much especially Jason but James was just in another world I swear 😐
that was the first time I heard that song
"what is this!?"
amazing
@Reffidex i think the whole band was possessed
This is The Thing That Should Have Been.
This is interesting but I prefer more bass.
@@hendriktonisson2915 He nailed it so hard that he even got the levels of where the bass on AJFA would be. I know that in itself is a bit of a downer, but you gotta appreciate the attention to detail!
@@WilDBeestMF smoke more weed , sounds like shit.
@@hendriktonisson2915 its shit.
Honestly as per usual the standard is so exact. Your understanding of Metallica in this era is flawless. Thank you for these master pieces.
1:02-1:10 Eye of the Beholder? Dude, that's genius!
The Justice vibe makes everything better.
I wish they would record an album with the same equipment they used for the earlier albums
I think that the reason that wasn't possible in the later albums is that some of the earlier albums sound was "built" by Fleming Rasmussen and the approach he uses, not to mention different kit overall.
Bob Rock, apart from being very yellow haired and being the whole reason that we now have to explain how to use EQ for an 80's thrash sound (I may be a teeny bit biased against him, but I'm sure nobody notices), he moved the band into an entirely different sound envelope when he recorded "Metallica" with them.
An example of the different kit is that on earlier albums we started off with Gibson guitars and Marshall amps. These evolved into ESP guitars for Jamea and Jackson for Kirk. Amplifier wise, they moved onto the Mesa Mk2c. This amp is an absolute dream for thrash, very sought after nowadays and just recently I got an "amp sim" version to use as a real one costs more than a kidney on the Black market.
We're now at the AJFA period with the Mk2c.
Then, as time moves on, when Metallica chose to use Bob Co... Rock (no bias, honest 🤞) he changes them onto Mesa Boogie Rectifier amps, totally changed how they EQ'd their amps going against the established method that pretty much every thrash guitarist had been using and later James would change his pickups from the time-tested and thrash-certified EMG 81-85 combo to a more mid range focused rock-y sounding pickup.
Obviously, we have the same sorts of things going on with Lars's drums to some degree but I don't know exactly what went on there, though I hazard a guess that Lars had a very vocal controlling hand in it.
Last thing I'd add on this, I'm a big fan of Jason Newstead and I thought he really was a good bassist for Metallica but I don't know if any producer he worked with really captured "his" tone. There's been some sort of re-released AJFA tracks where they haven't been Lars'd and you can hear Jason, and to me, that sounds like the best fitting sound and playing he ever did prior to playing solo.
The opening clean notes remind me so much of AJFA that it’s insane. That was the album I had on repeat way back when I played CoD World at War, and those notes took me right back there
It's amazing how you capture the essence of AJFA in every piece. Dude your channel is amazing!!
Captures AJFA insanely well
Thank you for your works, personally, the “And justice for all” album is my favourite one, and you are making true a dream of listening some Metallica’s works as if they were in another era.
The Thing That Should Not Be is bass on AJFA 😂😂😂
Hey I havent seen your comments in a while , how have you been?
@@venon4575 I'm doing good man. Busy with college 😂😂😂
@@DavidNwokoye Ohhh gotcha , I got worried. There was this one person that went by "infinity" and they made tone/video game videos , I haven't heard from them in a couple years..
The ascending chug riff sounds like “five Magics”
I think And Justice For All is their best album
Yes. You would be correct.
Abso-freakin-lutely!
Lol it's kinda funny seing me saying "i think AJFA is their best album". Now i have no clue that this is (at least for me)the best Metallica album, could be perfect if they weren't idiots for taking jason's bass off the album
Compositionally speaking, I agree.
My favourite track from Puppets with my favourite guitar tone if all time! Day made!
Sounds good.
for almost 6 months your playlist is on my first choice for music, runs endlessly in loops. your producing is flawless and exact... give us more like this please
I hate to say the cliche "aJfA iS a GeNrE" but it pretty much is.
Also how about a remix with the "Damaged Justice" live drum tone? That was Lars peak tone.
It's cool how you found a way to record the song in E standard while still maintaining the grit of the original song
Wait, I thought it was always E Standard.
@@mr.bigman6038 nope. The original track is in d standard.
@@CaptainRudy4021 huh, odd. Then this version seems to be in D standard too? They don't sound like different pitches to me.
@@mr.bigman6038 there are a few ways to make e tuning sound like d tuning without actually tuning down to d. The one I see most often is playing open 4th and 5th strings of which the notes are part of the d minor power chord.
@@mr.bigman6038 if you know what to listen for, you can tell the difference between the two. What gave it away for me was the intro.
Challenge: What If Echo Chamber would have been a complete song?
Or just about anything else from that list
Dead Kennedy rolls
@@wanaster1themetalhead144 Yeah, but has nothing to do with them. Echo Chamber was that song where Lars dad said "delete that"
@@TheKartoffel101 I know what it is and I think it has quite a lot to do with Dead Kennedy rolls since it was on the same demo
Hey man, good job as always. I really enjoyed The Eye of Beholder vibes especially in the solo. You were able to show people a little of what they missed from this forgotten song over time... AJFA forever !!!
I can’t remember if I suggested this or if I imagined it but this is definitely something I’ve wanted to see for a long time. And I love it!
4:58 Love the rhythm.
Man those guitar tones are beyond Spot On! Most excellent sir. Thank you sir!
definitely got an accurate intro length
Amazing once again!!!! Stil waiting damage inc mate!!
That crispy guitar sound melts me!!
Appreciate these bro, so much
I always thought this is the one Metallica song that sounds like Dirt-era Alice in Chains shouldve covered. The chord progression sounds more grunge than thrash, and Layne's ridiculously raw vocals wouldve been insane...
But i digress. Awesome song
AiC could cover any metallica song they wanted and make it sound good. But from what I've seen of metallica trying to cover AiC it's not good. James can't compete with Layne
Well there is a little snippet played on bass on AiC's MTV unplugged 😊
Thrash-grunge?
Bro, Awesome like all your work!!! Congratulations, You have to be very proud of yourself by making art, My favorite it's orion on AJFA , perfection 🔥✨✨
There's a reason why all these Metallica tunes sound so awesome thru the AJFA filter....its the best metal record ever.
The Thing… *takes off sunglasses* … That Should Be
it took me a while to get used to not having that massive drop crunch grind off after the verses, but man , thats the Justice style and tone right there.
The base gives me so much nostalgia lol 😂
Thank you, State of mercury. Excellent
This is actually awesome
Have you tried isolating vocals from live shows instead of changing pitch? I think that it would be even better. Btw good job as always
Well, he did do that when he worked at the vocal version of Creeping Death on Death Magnetic.
@@jd0879 Yeah but imagine this version with Seattle 1989 vocals
InstrumentallyInsane is great at doing that, he makes Metallica videos
Isolating voice is super hard from a single master track, these isolated vocals come from GarageBand as isolated.
It is almost impossible to do that, these vocal track are from GH.
It would be the cherry on top if u added the pick scrapes that is most frequently heard in To Live Is to Die, other than outstanding job!!!
This is awesome. I always wished that this song had a little 'something extra' in the composition, finally I get to see what that might have been like.
Wow sounds great🤘🙏
Have you done the whole master of puppets on AJFA? I'm going to make a playlist if so
@@StateOfMercury Also And justice for all(song) on RTL or MOP.Hope you're gonna do it one day.
@@stefanmicic9985 Every Metallica album on puppets and I’ll be happy💀that album is pure Cliff Burton power
... Excellent. xD The beginning intro makes me think of the start of the final phase of the boss battle with N'zoth in Ny'alotha.
The thing that might have been
00:58 Oooh an adorable message, just for me (in the bottom left corner). Of course I noticed. Thank youuuu!!! ;)
Love it!
Fook me THAT IS HEAVY, dude! BRAVO
Epic !!!! Equal as the original !!! Even better !! 💥💥🤟🤟🔥🔥
1:02 god daaammmnnn
Really enjoyable.
My favorite song thank you so much
The chorus riff is so fucking badass. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks!
I love it overall. But ive been worshipping your stuff. And you finally did the thing i couldn't buy as period perfect. The Lars Part in the sliw section in the middke. That swibg type beat. You've had scary accurate shit in that dept. First hiccup. ❤️
Damn! Epic dude
So cool sounds great 👍⭐🌟⭐🌟⭐
Aww, I was hoping to hear what Drop D sounds like with the AJFA treatment.
Bro your a legend already for making my favorite heavy metal band alive again. How can I acquire a hard copy incase CZcams deletes this channel?. It's happened before in CZcams to my favorite stuff and I'll never get a taste of that again. Maybe email?. Or social media?
very very good!
Badass!!
Either tone that song is a beast. Yep on the 89 show.
I was really excited for this one and specially leper messiah
These songs are the ones that i think fit ajfa the best, I'm not disappointed
This has Among the Living vibes
I totally love it! But I feel like any AJFA tribute or What If needs a few time signature changes.
Might do a reaction to this one man on our live stream Saturday night
That tone👌👌👌👌👌
got tier yet again
I can totally picture leper messiah with the justice tone
Try listening at 1.25 speed. Sounds much better
Hell Yeah!
Epic
i feel like if this was in C# tuning like when they played it live, the amout of heaviness would be denser than the sun
Lmao!
10/10 once again.
2:50 🤤🤤 otherwise outstanding as usual 🙏
Such a tasty riff
what about st anger whole album with justice drum tone?
This version is The Thing That Should Not Be, by the lower bass that have.
What plug ins/effects are u using for vocal treatment/manipulation if u don't mind sharing?
my favourite master of puppets song on my favourite Metallica album, this is the thing that should have been, the ajfa tone just makes this song heavier.
And the vocals just fit perfectly
I like your style kid
This is a certified hood classic
You should remix this with bass like you did with Enter Sandman on AJFA 🔥
This is about to be legen… WAIT FOR IT!!!….dary!
Am I the only one that questions James singing stye change that started with ...And Justice For All? Beforehand there just was a certain tonal quality, I don't know if it is just youth or he got inspired by something/someone.
I love the strum strokes in this, nasty
James sounds like he has bread in his mouth, other than that this is fucking epic
Sounds even better in 1.25 speed
It would sound good in RTL settings 👌
Fuck yeah Man
why does the riff under the solo remind me of 44 Minutes
Eye of the Beholder on MASTER, please, PLZ!!!!!
The Bass That Should Have Been
Please lepper messiah next!
That should be Thrash Metal 🤘. That was an incredible one !🤘
did you purposely keep it in E standard instead of D standard? anyways, dope take always. the justice tone will never be defeated
Justice had no detuned songs, shortest straws original demos were in drop C#, and were brutal as hell. What could have been 🙄
Kinda reminds me of the Primus cover.
Damn boiiiiii
What about my friend of misery?
THE FAHKEN SHIT! I LOVE IT when you put the Puppets songs on AJFA!
"The bass, that should not be" -Lars
☠️☠️☠️
sounds better with a 25% speedup
