    I am 60 and have been with the Indy movies from the start. I know they are just movies and sometimes things don't click just right. But I love Indiana Jones and I felt they ended the series the way it should be. People complained about Helena and I thought she was just a kid that didn't understand what it really meant to hold history in your hands. She only thought of money. Sometimes people read to much into movies and they really need to just enjoy a movie without the politics. Love the movie and going to buy it and add it to my collection. Thank goodness Harrison made it through the last one. Star Wars included as Han Solo. Seems like an iconic end to a legacy.

      Yes, that's also how I feel. It's got the classic feel of the first 3 movies.

      The fact they got James Mangold directing gives me that hope, the guy gave Wolverine a great (albeit brief) final bow why can’t he do the same for Indy?

    That's the same way I'll react when this comes out especially when they put out the novel for it.

    Honest question: at seminary did you study the pagan philosopher Aristotle more than the Bible?

    • @FatherRoderick
      @FatherRoderick  Před rokem

      I have a masters degree both in Philosophy and in Theology, so I studied a lot philosophers as well as the Bible.

      @@FatherRoderick God bless you.
      Thank you so much for answering my question.
      But honestly, in your training as a priest, where was the emphasis placed: on Aristotle or on the Bible?
      I’ve seen interviews with multiple Catholic Priests who said the priority was on Aristotle and one priest said they hardly looked at the Bible at all during seminary, and I remember another who said the Bible was in a distant third place.

    • @SpielbergMichael
      @SpielbergMichael Před rokem

      These are two of the interviews I watched:
      ‘Former Catholic Priest for 22 years Richard Bennett answers questions about Roman Catholicism’
      At about 9:50 into the video he says:
      “So I went into the monastery. I bought a bible before I went into the monastery thinking that we were going to study the scripture but we had a whole year of pious religious exercises, and then we started to study the philosophy of Aristotle.
      To this day it’s in the code of canon law that priests must study Greek philosophy. Because you need that to interpret the sacraments: how physical things can give life - you need the physics of Aristotle to explain it because you cannot explain it biblically… and then we went on to study other philosophies. Then we went in to study the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas.
      We did not really discuss the Bible…”
      And in another video called:
      ‘Two former priests analyze Catholicism’
      At about 7:05 into the video another former priest, Henry Nowakowski, says:
      “My experience in the seminary, the first two years the concentration was on the study of philosophy, and the philosophy we studied, by and large, was that of the pagan philosopher, Aristotle, who lived some 300 years before the birth of Christ. And the reason was that Thomas Aquinas, who was the main theologian of the Roman Catholic Church, who lived in the 1200s, he based his philosophy and theology on the principles of Aristotle.”
      He goes on to say:
      “the scriptures were not paramount in our studies, throughout those six years at the seminary, they were sort of an afterthought.”
