Her vocal performance in the film had so much power for sure. I agree that itâs easy to downplay her for a lot of people. Itâs almost like people do that just to have a different opinion than so many other people. But Iâm definitely biased cause I absolutely love her voice and performances.
The grit and pain in her voice

I just love everything about her voice and technique, the runs, her lower register, the belts and the high notes.
When youâre talking about how dainty Beyonceâs tone is in contrast with the other singer you were talking about. Itâs because her voice type a coloratura mezzo soprano which is the lightest voice in the mezzo soprano range. Her voice is light enough to sing soprano but also low enough to sing with enough grit and strength.

Pregnancy dramatically changed her voice. I believe she is now a dramatic mezzo soprano. Her voice is much fuller and warmer. Still love her voice but at the same time I miss her singing like this
Love the reaction by the way. Iâd recommend watching Beyonce perform sex on fire and beautiful ones in Glastonbury, which I believe is the biggest festival in the UK :). She made history by the way as the first woman to headline after 20 yrs
@@trystan3866 I think that has a lot more to do with just the maturing of her voice. Most women's voices tend to get richer and fuller with age.

The man said Beyonce voice is dainty.. yeah maybe back in 09-10. Her voice is crazy powerful and much more richer and fuller than even this recording.. You can't say a bad word about Beyonce's singing and I say that as someone who isn't a fan. I've liked plenty of her songs since she first started but they didn't click for me on a deeper level. She performs emotion perfectly, she performs everything perfectly, too perfectly for me to connect with I think. I still love hearing her sing this though.
I believe itâs because sheâs been criticized so much, that she tries to make sure if nothing else her technical abilities canât be talked crazy about⊠she said that she didnât want to get put in a box and be typecast as just another pop ballad girl.

Love this! This is one of my favorite performances of hers. A lot of people don't realize how versatile a singer Beyonce is. She's done some beautiful tributes/performances over the years that are completely different from her style as an artist. Some of my other favorites are her Barbara Streisand tribute "The Way We Were" and the performances she did at the Oscars in 2005 (specifically "Learn to be Lonely" and "Vois sur ton chemin"). You should check them out! đ
She truly deserves more respect. Her voice keeps getting better....(Which I didn't know was a possibility). My 1st time watching u...... wasn't disappointed.

I love this song and this version is amazing.
I'll recommend to you the Seattle performance of Resentment OTRII circa 2018, that's her most recent tour. The City of Hope (XO, Perfect, Ave Maria and Halo) performance 2018 is a must see too.
You should just watch the movie Cadillac thereâs a lot of great entertainers that didnât get their just due back in the day and BeyoncĂ© she did her part she was very good and I so enjoyed the music you have all the greats performing...

Beyonce sang the song the same way Etta James sang it. If Beyonce was singing the song at her concert she might have sang it differently. I just found you today, first song I heard.

I think I'm going to be the dissenting view. Beyonce is one of the G.O.A.T. no question, but she sounded like herself here. We should be marvelling at how she was able to transform her singing voice into sounding like Etta's; there should not be a Beyonce's version of this song to speak of. This performance was a part of a biopic about Leonard Chess and his artists, of which Etta James was one; hence Beyonce should look and sound like Etta James as much as possible. She didn't achieve that, so for me this is one of Beyonce's weaker performances in spite how lovely she sounds.
