The fact the igon calls me a "true drake warrior" is 100% more meaningful than the title eldenlord
With the insane amount of energy he uses to call you that, i can see why. Like bro just hyping me up to fight the unbeatable heavyweight champion. Gonna make your hype man proud.

Forget the Final Boss, this was the peak of the DLC.
Literally and figuratively lol
Bayle and Messmer were awesome boss fights, genuinely one of my favorites.
Fuck the final boss, that shit was impossible and not in the fun way at all, I was getting speed-blitzed and turned into mush for like 90 tries before I managed to beat that atrocity of a boss fight.
I was on the absolute brink of just using a mimic and a summon.
@@k_Shadi18 You can see that most budged went into Messmer and Bayle, game basically builds up those 2 as most important, and you even have dialogues, with last "boss" you get jack shite
@@Just_B0red I mean you do get dialogue and some cool cutscenes and the final boss still “looked” awesome but the moveset in that second phase is complete bullshit.
One of the unreasonably hardest boss fights I have ever had, and I fought Maliketh for fuck’s sake
@@k_Shadi18I'll agree. I beat Malenia at lv65, without movement ashes. I would argue she's pretty fair in comparison. I would say his first phase is pretty fair. I don't know who came up with phase two, but I'm kinda scared now. Not sure if I'll actually be able to do this.

Also the way he dies - as if like Bayle STILL wants to fight, kills himself or does something different entirely. Idk, the pose, the action itself, all of this is somehow seems to be more than just death.
Anyway, DIED STANDING THO
Still think the music transition from Midir to Bayle you did is peak
Like a second phase
Igon's Voice Actor deserves a high figure contract with From Software. Dude went 12/10 with his voice acting.
Something odd to note: all the greatest dragons we fought were not even in ther prime but actually damaged. We fight Kalameet after Gouh sniped him, we fight Sinh, imapled. We fight Midir after we toss him down the chasm, his wings are riddled with holes. we fight Placidusax while he is missing around 3 heads and we fight Bayle who lost an arm and a leg. still good fights.
I think it's to show their power. Despite being wounded, (pierced by a giant arrow for Kalameet, impaled by a spear fot Sinh, wings torn apart for Midir, lose of 3 of his five heads for Placi, and all of the missing limbs of Bayle) these dragons are still very strong and dangerous monsters for us to fight. Hell, Placi and Bayle are the oldest dragons we've ever fought and the strongest, one being a previous Elden Lord of a previous age and the other being the one to wound him. Such is the power of a dragon.
Funfact, out of all of these Kalameet is still the only dragon you can technically beat pre- nerf because Gough is entirely optional. They even put unique dialogue for him if you kill Kalameet without his help.
The final boss of the DLC is Fromsoft's answer to why we don't fight legends in their prime: Because 90% will complain how unfair the boss is.
@@glorytoukraine5524 Consort Radahn still isn't Prime Radahn, Consort Radahn used Mogh's Blood Magic, and had Miquella spam holy Magic, Prime Radahn was a warrior that mastered Gravity magic, so those 2 are completely different beings.
@@Just_B0redHe also makes liberal use of gravity magic to be fair. But yeah, judging from item descriptions it is meant to be a younger Radahn, probably because that is the ideal image of him that Miquella has in his mind. However, with a literal god riding on his back Consort Radahn probably rivals prime Radahn in terms of canonical power.

The amount of rage put into Igon’s dialogue really helped carry me through this fight. It’s really motivating. I want to give him a chance to fight with him, honestly. Seems they have interesting things to say if you do/don’t. After fighting Messmer without Hornsent, I felt bad. I mean now I don’t… but I did at the time.
Bonny Village got me fucked up. Shaman Village made me cry.
The hornsent can go rot for all I care. His people did horrible things and they had it coming when Messmer purged them all. And he was hella annoying in that group fight before the final boss.
@@k_Shadi18I agree, the hornsents are just, rotten and yet they still think that Marika betrayed them, it's disgusting.
Placidusax was a fantastic fight
Placidusax is a pretty good fight and a great spectacle but he has a significant problems Imo. Not up to the standard of Midir or Bale.
Placidusax was the only good base game dragon fight. Honestly my favorite base game boss. Fight wise he was on par with bayle for me.
@@dorianrobinette9712well the other dragons aren’t really “bosses” they’re more like really big normal enemies. I mean at a few points they don’t even have boss health bars
I always thought it was stupid to compare them to Midir or Kalameet or any of the specially designed dragons from other games or even Placi in this one who is clearly a BOSS bosss
@@gummyboots I see your point there, but many of them are still treated as bosses, and have unique names. So the comparison does make sense. Heck, even fortissax the major lore character he was, was still a crappy reskin. Not only is placidusax a great fight on his own, but the bar was set so low in his game that he just shines all the more is how I look at it.
@@jamiefenwick8359hard disagree, placidusax is the peak dragon fight, then bayle and midir
But for me, spectacle is extremely important for a dragon boss fight, it needs to be flashy, and placidusax is peak flashy, the way the music cuts out when he uses bolt of gransaxx and nukes the arena is cinematic perfection (if you're in a spot to see it admittedly)
Midir and bayle also have very flashy move sets, but that bolt move and the double doom laser just push placidusax to a different level for me

When I first saw Bayle, I was in awe. He was definitely not the average looking dragon you see in the lands between. Bayle is probably Fromsoft's best Dragon boss so far. Cool design, cool fight, and cool npc to help you fight him.

The best part was, the fight wasn't insanely difficult. It was challenging, for sure, but it didn't feel impossible. It was perfect; just hard enough that I felt accomplished in defeating him and that it didn't feel unfair. It really did send me right back to fighting Midir for the first time.
Oddly enough Sanessax, dragon that you fight on your way to Bayle felt more difficult, I guess it had to do with arena being covered in water so all his attacks hit with insane AoE
@@Just_B0red That fight felt horrible, and made me dread Bayle because I thought his fight would be just as lazy and frustrating, but I’m glad to have been proven wrong.
Mythical early pull
I got rare
And people had the audacity to complain about the DLC being 40 bucks. With the quality of this DLC it could've been its own game and people would've loved it either way.
Rest in peace Igon a true drake warrior he was
HARPOOOOONS
If only the final fight had that sort of buildup and feeling. Event the NPC battle before the final boss was FAR more engaging and personal, while the last fight brought about a broken ass boss and a cool plot theme that was literally introduced and ended in the arena, with no elaboration and left such an anticlimactic feeling. What a shame.
But luckily we can fight Bayle afterwards to wash away the sour taste, cause that fight is a treat of epicness
The whole Jagged Peak area and Bayle's bossfight is so, so much better thanks to this absolute madlad!! I really hope that From will hire this voice actor for future roles as well!
I swear igon helped me in this fight so much not bc it was hard bc i never new i needed this guy screaming in my ear to hype me up so damn much

its still funny that great dragon fights are in the dlcs
THIS SHIT AIN'T NOTHING TO ME BAYLE! I'M HIM! I WILL ALWAYS BE HIM!
They nailed the dragons in the dlc, bayle is so sick!
Me and my friend randomly found bayle after he found the dragon pit and i must say that it was a harrowing and amazing experience. Bayle and messmer are my favorite bosses in the game at this point.
Instant respect for adding Sihn, one of the best fights in Dark Souls 2.
CUUUUUUUUUUUURSEEEEEE YOUUUUUU BAYLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
There were only 5 dragon fights I LOVED throughout all the series. You got the 3 from the Souls games, then there was Placidusax and Fortisax (Fort's design was dope, but other than that pretty similar to ancient fights, but still.) Then they added Bayle (CURSE YOU BBBBBAAYYYYYLLLLEEEE) and ticked my number up to 6
I shed tears overhow majestic this fight is
The only things that soil the fight for me is his tendency to instantly long range breath you while you were passing through the fogwall (so you can't really dodge it) and having to fiddle around with the yes/no prompt to summon Igon (that defaults on no). But other than those things it's one of the better dragon fights in the soulsborne series.
Instant long range breath never happened for me, was always quite easy to dodge since the two breath attacks have different wind ups
It's not instant, all you have to do is run to the side. Unless you buff after you enter, for which I can't help you.
I've never seen him hit you as you're passing through the fogwall. Right after? Sure.
For me Placidusax is one of the best Fromsoft bosses, if not the best, but he's boss fight being so easy and slow with a theme that doenst become more epic on second phase just put him down, fortunely we have Bayle, that feels like an upgraded boss fight 🙏
The difficulty really depends on if you’re overleveled when you reach him or not. If you 100%ed or close everything before you get to him then yeah he’s isn’t that scary
@@gummyboots Nah, first time I beat him before Maliketh and onwards, truth be told I died like 8x to the sentinel before Maliketh while for Placidusax I killed second try, Godfrey and Radagon detroyed me on that playthrough lol.
I think he really needs a buff just to make up for his name, but he wont be getting none now, sadly
We need that voice actor as a hypeman in every fromsoft game from now on.
You know you were have a good times when you automatically recall all the title and dragon's name from previous Soul games in your head XD
Miyazaki started trolling players with Darkeater Midir. You need to flawlessly avoid a barrage of attacks for 5 min to beat a optional boss.
the phase transition of Bayle is pure perfection
I think the bayle fight is one of my favorites from the dlc, the scale of the fight is so cool, and bayles design is so menacing
People don't talk about this often, but you have to respect the fact that Igon is TERRIFIED of Bayle. The man is shitting his pants. PTSD. Straight up cowers at the name.
And yet this mf stands on business and does not back down from the fight, even offering his soul.
If Bayle The Dread is a representation of fear and terror incarnate, Igon is a symbol of courage.
Igoat makes me happy when he's giving me a warcry for Bahh the Sheep
Igon was the icing on the cake of this whole saga.
*"With A Hail Of Harpooons!"*
They truly outdid themselves with Bayle, best boss in the DLC along with our favorite Drake Warrior Igon!!!!!
When i beat Bayle Igon just spammed Dragonclaw and it continued even after the phantom went away, all the way to the ledge of the area beforehand, i was waiting for it to drop down but it didn't, it was hilarious and the only and best way of sending off his character, to still be outraged and clawing away beyond death.
Defeating Kalameet at SL1 melee only as deprived is still one of my proudest gaming achievements.
Fight Bayle is like fight dark dragon and final boss is like fight Gael.
Nothing will beat fighting and beating Kalameet. The feeling is worth it.
The 2nd phase 2 dragon breaths where he's flying and it explodes into lightning-fire had me absolutely awe-struck while I was fighting him. With how the sound mixing is handled with his abilities, I had unironic goosebumps. Me and Igon somehow managed to get him done in the first try, now I help other Hosts fight him because I love the fight so much.
(And as an aspiring voice actor Igon's VA is inspirational, bless his heart)
Amazing 😊
The only thing that would make this better is a cutscene showing Igon walking in with you and him monologuing about Bayle. Reminiscent of Catarina dude and Yhorm.
Darkeater Midir is my favorite in the series. So cool
I was playing as a drake/bloodflame knight in my first play through of the dlc, and when he called me a true drake warrior, my timber shivered
Changed my armor set to the Drake Knight set to match what Igon calls the player
Well, I've found the jagged peak but I've yet to find this dragon boss. Not gonna watch this full video yet but definitely looking forward to facing this dread.😊
I summoned igon for fun and loved it so much that I had to beat him the first time around with igon. Him and Ansbach are the best
As great as all the True Dragon bosses we've had, none will ever replace Sinh the Slumbering Dragon for me. His references in all 3 Souls games has always made me nostalgic for DS1 because it was the coolest ring in the game to me(I just like the color blue and dragons are pretty dope). Also, since Elden Ring dropped, I've been hoping to get a revamped Slumbering Dragon that breathes Sleep Gas.
Let us not forget Nameless King (if he counts) and Placidusax.
I literally just beat him yesterday, him and placi are some of the best fights in the whole game

All that buildup and then you reveal the famous Elden ring seizure camera. They haven’t updated their engine since armored core

Yeah I definitely regret having killed Igon on my first playthrough, I missed out on his entire quest.
