It is a shooter, I assume the boomerang is the more powerful option, but it’s a lot slower

I hope I'm wrong but this looks like the exact opposite of the Arkham series. It's not gameplay built around the characters but a generic third person shooter with a DC skin

Not really. A lot of Flash is taken from the animated Justice League cartoons. This version acts like him and Ezra did as well.
The difference between the two is that the Flash in the show was Wally whereas every version since then has been Barry.

People have been begging for single player story games with the option of co-op for YEARS. Every time a game like Skyrim or Metro 2033 or whatever comes out, a bunch of people go, "this would be epic if I could play co-op"

I'm more a fan of the excellent lines like "hold my beer" and "let's dance" and "I LOVE explosions" and "HERE COMES THE BOOM" and "that's gonna leave a mark!"

I feel like a lot of these super-hero/villain games think we want to absolutely dominate a city, but what I want is a realistic detective-esque adventure in the streets mixed in with some cool characters and powers. Give me a city that feels alive, with characters that are distinct

@@demifolk8940 Sure. Then why need to stick with the comic book characters and lore? They could have a completely new IP with all these "fun" mechanics. I think they did already: Crackdown. Not sticking to comic accurate powers in these games just increases the chances of failure.
My favorite thing about King Shark is his use and knowledge of automatic weapons. Happy to see him at his potential finally.

Aesthetically I love it, and the animations are top notch. What I can't get over, is the hard focus on gunplay over melee combat. I don't want another 3rd person shooter...
AGREE THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM. This isn't an Arkham game. I just really wish this was like the sunset overdrive x GOTG.
@@rushguardto6552 it's not supposed to be an Arkham game, it's a suicide squad game. Adding Gotham style combat would slow the game down and shrink the size, less emphasis on the movement which was probably one of the main focuses while creating the game

But this game is a continuation of the Arkham games, this is a direct sequel/spinoff, the Batman in this game is the Batman we played as in those 4 games, being upset it’s not like Arkham is perfectly reasonable
@@spacejesus6581 it's the same universe but you don't use the same character nor is it the same fighting style or whatever. You could think of it like how the Deadshot boss battle was in city. You didn't use any combat, that was still Arkhamverse but wasn't free flow combat. This game apparently is also in Arkhamverse and it also doesn't use free flow combat.
We definitely aren't in Arkham anymore.

At this point, technology is not the issue. Arkham Knight came out in 2015 and it looks incredible to this day. I played it yesterday and if I didn't know any better, I would've thought it came out this year. The creativity and vision of the developers is the only thing holding games back. Forbidden West is another game I recently played which is absolutely gorgeous and runs beautifully. There are only so many games I'm gonna buy at retail price and this is definitely NOT one of them. Might pick this up 2 months after release for $5

Arkham knight and arkham city look hella good graphicaly to this day, its insane. And they are very entertaining too. This one looks like mindless rampage shooter, I hope I will be wrong tho.

Arkham games were all singleplayer immersive experiences in a much more atmospheric Gotham, Metropolis is all clean + sunny, not really much atmosphere you can create with that asthetic.

What is the point in switching players? They all just seem to shoot a different gun. Glad to know that Harley’s proficiency with a gun is the same as Deadshot’s. Glad they delayed it. Maybe they’ll personalized character’s play style.
The Traversal is designed to be part of the combat and i think it makes all the characters extremely unique

Looks like one of that snooze-inducing Co-op shooters. Combat design looks really flat. You can tell the difficulty comes from the level gap and sponge enemies, not actual combat strategy and variance. Shame the writing seems good, love the Rocksteady Justice League character design and Flash gaining humanity due to the lasso for an instance only asked to be killed is such a great touch.
Yea, because Rocksteady’s history with combat mechanics have “actual combat strategy and variance”… truth is they’ve never been known to have especially good combat, all of the Arkham games are pretty mindless with some above average stealth mechanics. Your expectations seem outlandish honestly, especially since you’re judging an entire game based on a 6 minute curated gameplay trailer…
@@TakeJanner The Freeflow combat in the Arkham games is great tho. If you play it mindlessly it will appear mindless but if you actually build your combo meter(which enables throws and special takedowns), try to evade every attack and also use your gadgets it becomes varied and much more fun.

@@TakeJanner Nah 2 different games. Sadly Gotham Knight's just a pale imitation of Freeflow combat. It's too sluggish for it's own good, feels more like an RPG with it's healthbars and doesn't let the player transition smoothly between enemies like you can with the Freeflow combat system in the Arkham games.

wow. all this time just to see a game with villains displaying powers they don't normally have all while not displaying the abilities they have.... Deadshot should be the only one using guns IMO, Harley doesn't displaying any acrobatics or real melee attacks as her primary means of attacking, Captain Boomerang barely using boomerangs, and King Shark not being the brute tank he should be, that was underwhelming.
@Mentally Dating Kit Connor Also in the comics, Boomerang invented many different types of boomerangs, even some crazy one. Like the "Flying Boomerang" which carried him off in flight. And he is cleary, in this game, using special boomerangs to traverse the city and he is an enemy of the Scarlet Speedster so those things were cleary originally meant to help Boomer keep up with Flash.
It was cool that Diana used the lasso of truth to bring Barry back to his senses but for a brief moment. You could also notice that his eyes turn back from purple to normal.
I was expecting a tag-line of "You can't", or something, but that... that was pain.

Honestly, this is pretty underwhelming for a developer with Rocksteady's caliber. They're the same guys who introduced the freeflow combat system to the gaming industry. I expected more from them but credit where it's due, it seems like a pretty fun experience if you have friends to actually play it with and the story seems interesting enough.

Eh, it looks very fun imo. The gameplay seems solid and fun, the world seems well crafted and I can see this being a fun single player experience. I’m just afraid the live service elements might ruin the game if there is an endgame element to it

I really love the story and concept of a mind controlled/corrupted justice league and how fun it would be to go up against all the heroes- but the gameplay feels off.
It’s not necessarily bad, but the formula is overused in modern gaming and many players crave something unique. I see a lot of people in these comments comparing this to Arkham Knight gameplay. While I don’t exactly see that style being used in this game I find it hard to keep immersed in the story when my brain sees these jumpy shooters and immediately thinks of games such as Fortnite, Destiny, and even Overwatch.
Why would I want to play against the Justice League, when I never got a chance to first BE the Justice League, especially knowing a Superman game and Batman Beyond game was scrapped?
Idk graphics and gameplay look kinda underwhelming for a next gen game that was in development for 7 years. But then again videogame graphics have plateaued in this generation, so this is gonna be the norm from now on.

One big problem for me is that all these hero’s have identical load outs.
They feel very generic and interchangeable, which is the exact opposite feeling you should be trying to go for.
I lost all hope the moment I realised there isn't even a combo counter.

@@armyofuno8196 You misunderstand what I'm trying to say , rocksteady leaned heavily into the fact that this takes place in the arkham verse , unlike gears of war definitely not taking place in the zelda verse , Rocksteady is mainly known for the freeflow combat they invented in batman arkham which inspired countless other games , so , it is trange to take that system and completely remove it , even though it would fit perfectly with melee characters such as harley quinn , captain boomerang and maybe even king shark.
Congrats on making another Avengers style game that we get to watch fail miserably.

Yes I don’t like battle passes and live game services but I’m only playing for the single player experience. I wanted a Batman beyond game from them but this one is different from what I experience but ik rocksteady will succeed because they don’t make bad games

I'm a little disappointed because the combat of all the characters is basically just deadshot's combat. the difference in gameplay for each character is only in movement. This game looks like a common third person shooting games...

Not gonna lie, Wonder Woman looks awesome, at least she isn't under Braniacs control. Like, I thought tbh, every League member would be under Braniac, but it does make sense maybe one of them won't be. And it being Wonder Woman, it kinda makes sense. Idk if I'll end up having it when it launches, but I do wanna end up playing it at some point. It looks fun.
I bet at the end of the game they’ll put her under kind control as well. Wonder if any villains in metropolis go under mind control. A mind controlled Parasite would be a good boss.

Wonder Woman came in like a boss.
Seems like the kind of game that will have a decent story but so-so gameplay. Wonder Woman being there is cool but what would really sell it would be good gameplay, which unfortunately looks kinda generic.

All I want is a story-driven game with co-op option and an interesting map to explore with my friend, so we can experience the story and fights at the same time. Not another money hungry shooter.
Would have been better if it was single player with player swap at any point of time like in gta 5.

@@downhill1222 I think they said we can try the same mission with different characters . If player swap was there within a mission it would be unwise not to show that in a gameplay trailer.
